Meghan Trainor has today (3rd March) announced her new single ‘Dear Future Husband’, through Epic Records. The track is the third single to be taken from her UK chart-topping debut album "Title" released earlier this year and well on its way to gold status.
As the biggest new global pop phenomenon of recent years, ‘Dear Future Husband’ is Meghan Trainor’s open letter to her potential soul mates. With a typically tongue-in-cheek lyric among her unmistakable sound of big room brass, finger clicks and funky doo-wop pop, ‘Dear Future Husband’ will have Meghan Trainor lovers throughout the world pledging their troth to their super sassy heroine.
‘Dear Future Husband’, which already has over 25 million audio plays on YouTube alone, follows from the incredible success of the chart-busting singles ‘Lips Are Movin’, and the international super hit ‘All About That Bass’ – which has surpassed 1 million sales in the UK. Twin sisters The Veronicas release their eagerly awaited self-titled third album on 16th March, through RCA, preceded by the single ‘If You Love Someone’, released 1st March. This follows last year’s single ‘You Ruin Me’ which hit #8 in the UK charts in November.
The Veronicas, and single ‘If You Love Someone’, have both gone gold in the twin sisters’ native Australia, while ‘You Ruin Me’ has hit triple platinum status.
You heard it right, Hertfordshire's most fabled Electro Post-Hardcore sons have slotted in at #3 on the UK album charts, marking a fourth album to debut in the top 5 and this time it's even more personal.
What with Fall Out Boy and Mark Ronson doing extremely well in the charts with new releases, and the acknowledgement that this feat is another triumph in the continuing mission to slip pigeonhole-avoiding, socially-conscious music into the mainstream, things can only stay on course from hereon in.
We say it's personal, well just look at some of the track names: "Anaesthetist" and "Never Let Go of the Microscope" pointing towards the NHS and the obvious "The Bank of England"; is Enter Shikari possibly Post-Hardcore's answer to The Clash or more aptly the Sex Pistols in terms of attitude?
Whatever attitude the St.Albans crew want to exhibit, it will only shift a gear on tour. But before that Enter Shikari will be embarking on a brace of Instore Signings this week :
12pm – HMV Southampton
5:00pm – HMV Brighton Churchill
12pm – HMV Birmingham Bullring
5:30pm – HMV Manchester
5:30pm – Rise Records, Bristol
And their Europe / UK tour commences in Paris on 2nd February and ends with two SOLD OUT shows at London’s 3000-capacity Camden Roundhouse at the end of the month.
