Intense, sensual and arcane, Diamond Black are a dark-rock quartet from Camden, London, UK. Founded by Ben Christo (guitarist of The Sisters of Mercy) and Finnish singer J.I. Turunen, Diamond Black bring you crushing riffs, mesmerizing electronica and cinematic choruses; a dark fusion of irreverence, intrigue and isolation. Diamond Black to release their debut single & video 'Sorrow' on October 20th, 2017.
Diamond Black is:
Ben Christo - Guitars, Backing Vocals (The Sisters Of Mercy)
J.I. Turunen - Lead Vocals
Adam Lightspeed - Bass, Backing Vocals
Jan-Vincent Velazco - Drums
Jaani Peuhu - Synths, Backing Vocals, Production
Michal Akrabi - Backing Vocals
Inspired by the heaviness of Katatonia, the passion of Depeche Mode, the haunting soundscapes of Type O Negative and the anthemic melody of The Cult, Diamond Black weave tangled tales of desire, decadence and devotion.
Turunen’s powerful vocal is equal parts brooding, fragile, venomous and soaring, delivered with distinctly Scandinavian melancholy, whilst Christo’s unforgiving riffs and emotive lead-lines provide a dramatic backdrop. Add a thunderous, dynamic rhythm section, courtesy of premier UK rockers Jan-Vincent Velazco and Adam Lightspeed and encase it all in the cutting-edge darkwave/electro-rock production of Finnish visionary Jaani Peuhu (Swallow the Sun - Best Finnish Album of 2015, To/Die/For, Iconcrash) and you’ve got the explosive and evocative sound of Diamond Black.
One of the driving forces behind the resurgence of gothic rock and post-punk in Finland in the new millennium, Kuudes Silmä have kept a long break from recording. Previous works have appeared on the sadly defunct Combat Rock Industry label, and Svart Records welcomes the group into the fold with their second album, Pelko, set for international release on September 22nd.
Although expressing themselves in their native tongue, Kuudes Silmä's music is very much part of the greater global post-punk underground. Formed, suitably enough, in Berlin in 2009, the band have played several tours around Europe, America, and Russia, and appeared on Maximum Rock’n’Roll zine's Sound the Alarm compilation. On Pelko, the band takes a small step towards gothic maturity, with some of the most abrasive tones giving room for a more new wave pop approach.

Goth Rockers Davey Suicide release music video for new single "Rise Above," taken from upcoming 'Made From Fire' LP
Rock band Davey Suicide has released the Official Music Video for the debut single "Rise Above" off of their highly anticipated 3rd LP, entitled Made From Fire. Premiered on Alternative Press, "Rise Above" was directed, filmed, and edited by Justin Mark Morrison with the song co-production credits going to Charles Kallaghan and Needlz.
"This song is a huge thank you to our fans who stood behind us with one unified voice over the last few years (especially over the last few weeks). This song, "Rise Above" captures the raw emotion of everything that we've been living through, and it's the first step toward our new future." - Davey Suicide
Davey Suicide is cultivating the underground by fusing arena rock, gutter grit, sleaze and theatrics into their own brand of industrial rock. The band, which features Davey Suicide along with Drayven Davidson, Needlz, Niko Gemini, and Derek Obscura, distills heavy metal, industrial and punk into anthems that are as corrosive as they are catchy.
Made From Fire is expected to be released sometime next year. Until then, "Rise Above" serves as a first taste of Davey Suicide's future and a thank-you to those who have supported them
