Swedish Stockholm underground selects Metroland to score OST for promo video + Remix contest16/6/2016 Major news from the Belgian electronica act Metroland, known for their updated Kraftwerk sound. The band’s 2012 song “The Passenger” has been selected to appear as main song for the official Swedish Stockholm underground promo video. The song accompanies the video which was made by the Swedish visual art company Familjenpangea for the official Swedish Stockholm underground. They won a gold award at this years Golden Egg Awards for the new Visual Identity for SL (Stockholm Public Transport). This can be compared to winning a Red Dot award internationally or a Grammy (speaking in music terms). You can view the video on YouTube. “The Passenger” is taken from the “Mind the gap” album which was released 4 years ago. You can order the normal CD version here (the 2CD boxset is since long completely sold out). In further news, Metroland recently released the single “Synthetic Sound” (in 2 versions), and now they launch a full blown remix contest for a brand new single: “Brothers”. The single will be last single to be taken of the “Things will never sound the same” album. The bands who want to pay their own personal final homage to Louis Zachert can now remix the “Brother” song. The best remixes will be chosen for the official remix single. Interested? Montreal industrial monsters Projekt F have posted a new video 'Unbegun' in support of their recently released EP 'The Butterfly Effect'. The EP is their loudest release to date featuring seven pinnacle tracks for your auditory senses discussing the torrid relationship between man and God to continue their thematic discography ‘Skins’ (2013) and ‘Under The Skin’ (2014). ''We consider 'The Butterfly Effect' to be an extremely raw and honest EP. Early in the process of making it, we knew that we would not be making a music video for it. However, we thought it was important to give something to our fans. So we decided to make a video that would show a side of Projekt F that hasn't been seen before. Like the EP, a raw and honest one. Many of you have seen our "on stage persona” before, but with this video that we have made for our single, "Unbegun", we are sharing a different side of ourselves.'' comments vocalist John M. Miller. The festival features 14 dark bands from across Quebec, Ontario and New York. For full details, please visit the following link here. Michigan's I See Stars set to drop new album, Treehouse, on June 17th ahead of Warped Tour4/5/2016 I See Stars, the Michigan-based electronic hardcore outfit who will be featured on this year’s Vans Warped Tour, release their fifth studio album, "Treehouse", on June 17 via Sumerian Records. “This is the most time we’ve had to create an album since 3D,” explains vocalist Devin Oliver. “We actually had time to reflect on our past, but most importantly what we want to become. Beyond the music, it felt like an evolution for us emotionally. We finally feel like the band we were meant to be. If you strip it down, it’s not just drums, guitar, bass, vocals, and minor production. The electronic aspects could be their own songs, and we aim to blend everything as seamlessly as possible.” The band shared the first new music from the release in February, “Mobbin’ Out” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh5p2GwLvvQ, a song that reflects that “mindful” attitude towards presentation and the idea that the electronic element of I See Stars stand on its own as well. The 12-song album, which was recorded in Los Angeles, marks a number of first for the band. The biggest change is the band itself being pared down to four members: vocalist Devin Oliver, guitar player Brent Allen, bass player Jeff Valentine and keyboards/drummer Andrew Oliver. I See Stars also enlisted a number of producers to work on the release including Erik Ron [Panic! at the Disco, Saosin], Nick Scott [Asking Alexandria, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!], Taylor Larson [Periphery, Veil of Maya] and David Bendeth (Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore). Vans Warped Tour dates:

The new deal adds Angelspit's new album, Cult of Fake, to Negative Gain's already strong roster of bands, including The Gothsicles and Mr. Kitty. Made popular for its driving industrial sound, Angelspit sees the new partnership as a perfect match. "Negative Gain pushes dance acts with an alternative edge, and our new album will fit right in," says Zoog Von Rock. Already funded by Kickstarter, the album will receive the widespread push it needs thanks to Negative Gain. "We are always looking at new ways to add great music to our already diverse roster of great artists," added Roger Jarvis, co-founder of Negative Gain. "You are going to love this album just as much as we do!" Cult of Fake is Angelspit’s sixth studio album, due June 6, 2016 through Negative Gain. The album uses the harsh industrial percussion sampled from Angelspit’s early albums, now mixed with club destroying beats. Kickstarted by the fans, Cult of Fake is Angelspit’s first album to focus on dance music without sacrificing its established sound. www.angelspit.net www.facebook.com/angelspitmusic Rising from the Swedish underground, Grand Theft Culture’s explosive live shows and outstanding blend of rock n’ roll and electronic music caught the attention of world famous DJ / Producer Skrillex. He officially praised the group and posted their cover version of the song “Cinema” on his Facebook page, creating an online buzz throughout the world. Grand Theft Culture is fronted by singer and guitar-wonder-child Michel Santunione, famous for his work in musicals such as Queen’s ”We Will Rock You”, “Rock of Ages” and for touring the world with some of the biggest rock acts coming out of Scandinavia. In October 2015 they released the single "Spinning" that now is out on video! |
