“Darkness in a Different Light is another notch in a long list of accomplishments for Fates Warning.”
:- About.com Heavy Metal (USA)

Iceland's premier Rock & Metal festival Eistnaflug announces ticket sales.
Are you looking for something more than “just” a festival?! Maybe some epic landscapes, 24 hour daylight, a chilled out atmosphere with a welcoming audience, and a remarkably diverse melting pot line-up, with a few selected, prime foreign acts stacking up against a massive selection of all the great things the Iceland music scene has to offer every year?! There are no boundaries – from indie rock to hardcore to black metal, everything that’s good is embraced and can be experienced at Eistnaflug
“An incredibly diverse rock and metal festival, with three days of everything from punk to black metal played until the early hours of the morning in an isolated fjord where the sun never sets. Needless to say, it’s a magical experience.” - Hannah May Kilroy, Terrorizer
“Eistnaflug feels like the kind of vaguely familiar parallel reality Haruki Murakami would dream up, enhanced greatly by the fact that this is summer, and the perpetual light is going to conspire with the environment to utterly fuck with your sense of time and space until your journey back through the portal. For a country with a population of 320,000, there’s a staggering number of native metal and rock bands, the vast majority of whom are clearly determined to follow their own muse rather than fall into identikit rituals of trend-chasers.” - Jonathan Selzer, Metal Hammer
“The name of the festival isn’t easy for non-Icelandic speakers – Eistnaflug. The name of the little town (which doubles its population of 1500 when the event takes place) on an isolated fjord where the festival takes place is even harder – Neskaupstaður. But apart from linguistics, that’s really where all the stress ends with this festival. If you do decide to undertake this adventure, you’ll be rewarded with one of the coolest, most chilled-out atmospheres in any festival, ever. With 24 hour daylight, a welcoming party of smiling, peacefully drunk Icelandic metalheads and all the best talent the rich local scene has to offer, plus with a couple of big international bands to spice things up, the three days will just zoom by and you’ll never want to leave.” – Jose Carlos Santos, Terrorizer
Next summer Eistnaflug will celebrate their 10 year anniversary! It’s pretty wild considering this is a small festival in a fjord on the East Coast of Iceland. To celebrate this milestone in their history they have been working hard on booking great bands and this is what they have so far: the fathers of Gothenburg Death Metal, At the Gates, heavy hitting sludgers, Zatokrev with Iceland’s own: Sólstafir, HAM, Skálmöld, Brain Police, The Vintage Caravan, Momentum, Dimma and Gone Postal. More bands TBA.
The dates for Eistnaflug 2014 are 10-12th of July. Tickets will go on sale on 1st November. For further info visit www.facebook.com/EistnaflugFestival or www.eistnaflug.is

Bloodstock Open Air Festival is thrilled to reveal that New Orleans sludgemeisters Down are to headline the Friday night at Bloodstock 2014. The show will be a UK exclusive.
2014 also sees the pencilled release of ‘Down IV: Part 2’, the second in the band’s series of EPs. The opus follows in the footsteps of ‘Down IV: Part 1 - The Purple EP’, which hit stores last winter to a flurry of critical acclaim. The band have been hard at work in recent weeks demo’ing material at frontman, Philip Anselmo’s infamous ‘Nodferatu’s Lair’ studio, outside of New Orleans, LA.
Check out the video for Part 1’s lead track, ‘Witchtripper’ here
Arguably one of the finest metal frontmen of his generation, Philip Anselmo is looking forward to setting foot on Bloodstock’s hallowed soil, stating: “We are more than elated to be a part of Bloodstock Festival this coming year! This should be a blast, and I hope everyone shows up to support this great event!"
Bassist, Pat Bruders adds: “I’m looking forward to another great time at Bloodstock Festival! When I was there two years ago with Crowbar, it was a blast! Down is getting ready to tear it up at Bloodstock in 2014, so get ready people! Let’s Bring It!!!!!"
Tickets for 2014's event are already on sale at ‘early bird’ prices, a bargainous £115 for a 4-day weekend ticket with camping. Don't delay, as once the limited ‘early bird’ allocation is gone, it's gone, and tickets revert to full price.
Pick up your discounted tickets now at http://bloodstock.seetickets.com/.
This year, over 1.2 million fans from across the world logged on to watch the bands on the Bloodstock main stage, via the Daily Motion live link. 2013 was Bloodstock’s biggest ever attendance at just shy of 14,000 and with a site licence of 15,000, the 2014 event is expected to sell out in advance, so don’t wait too long to get your tickets!
Already announced as Saturday night headliners are black metal overlords, Emperor, who are only playing a very select number of shows in 2014. Bloodstock is to be their only UK performance and Emperor's currently announced 2014 show at Germany's Wacken Festival is already sold out.
Bloodstock will be held at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 7th-13th August 2014. Keep up to date with the very latest info on Bloodstock’s official sites at www.facebook.com/bloodstock and www.bloodstock.uk.com.
