UK metal stalwarts Fury and Dakesis will be teaming up for the “Lost in the Dawn” tour this November!
Following on from an explosive summer of festivals for both bands including Bloodstock Open Air, LoStock, Breaking Bands, HRH Metal and Hammerfest, this tour will be the last chance for many people to see both bands before they retreat back to the studio for work on new albums.
Dakesis recently announced that bass player Amie Chatterley is currently pregnant, and will be 8 ½ months at their imminent performance at Bloodstock Open Air, however she has no plans to sit out on the fun and says “We’re taking a break from touring in September and October, but we’re going to be roaring to hit the road come November, and we couldn’t be more excited to be doing it with our good friends Fury”
Fury drummer Alasdair Davis adds “We’ve been itching to hit the road again and for the first time we’ll be doing it as a headline band, sharing the honours with our good friends in Dakesis. We’re looking forward to playing what is sure to be one of the most exciting metal tours in recent times, at some of our favourite venues across the UK”
Tickets links available soon, direct from venues or from the band websites below

‘Under Your Spell' was released on 9th June by Metropolis Records.
‘Under Your Spell’ is the 7th album by the Birthday Massacre, and with it comes eleven songs that reveal a side of the Canadian band that audiences may not be familiar with. Driven with the band’s signature, unique blend of spiralling synth melodies, walls of guitar and evocative vocals, the new songs range from dark, aggressive anthems to danceable, pretty pop and hit all the bases that audiences have come to expect. However, there is also a rawness to the emotion expressed, an openness and vulnerability that feels new.
One thing that is clearer than ever, however, is the tight bond that exists between the band members and their willingness to explore heartbreak and loss together. With these songs, they have entered the darkness of their most fragile emotions and returned with a cohesive and detailed musical portrait that captures both the anger and hope that exist within a moment in time.
The Birthday Massacre continue to make music that is unique to them, once again managing to create an album that somehow feels so familiar, yet challenges the listener to continue alongside them on their ever-changing, ever-growing journey.
Bloodstock have now released their day tickets (as of yesterday)! Tickets will be priced at £60 (plus booking fee) and are available at http://bloodstock.seetickets.com. Four-day ‘weekend tickets with camping’ are also still available, priced £139 (plus booking fee). Children’s weekend tickets are just £35 (+ booking fee) and under 4’s go free! Weekend tickets are selling faster than ever this year and may well sell out entirely before festival weekend, so don’t delay if you want to guarantee access to the UK’s best metal weekender!
One thing that sets Bloodstock apart from other festivals is festival founder, Paul Raymond Gregory’s on-site RAM Gallery. In addition to showing selections from his own world-renowned portfolio, Paul invites some of his favourite rock & metal-related artists to exhibit. This year he welcomes Berlin-based artist and illustrator, Eliran Kantor, who’ll show six pieces of work. Eliran has created sleeve art for numerous metal artists including Testament, Soulfly, Iced Earth, and Hatebreed. Returning to the RAM Gallery in 2017 is Orange County artist, Christian Sloan Hall, who show a few of the many pieces of work he’s created for our Friday headliner, Amon Amarth. Christian will be in the gallery to sign limited edition prints, which will be available for sale, so come by, say hello and snap up something extra special for your wall.
Also exhibiting will be Daniel P. Carter; artist, musician, and presenter of the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show. Dan studied at the prestigious St Martins School of Art and has created sleeves for many albums, most recently Me And That Man’s debut (Nergal from Behemoth’s side project), ‘Songs of Love And Death’. On the photography side, the RAM Gallery is also thrilled to welcome celebrated rock photographer, Paul Harries, who’ll show six photographic pieces from his incredible portfolio. Adding a new flavour to the gallery this year is Heathen Waxworks. Their hand-carved 3D candleware in a range of unique designs are based on RAM Gallery-appropriate mythical and esoteric themes; Nordic Storm, Pagan Woodland, Native American, Hammered Horror and Satanic Majesty.
Lastly but not leastly, regular RAM Gallery contributor and luthier Cynosure, creator of hand-made guitars as art, will be exhibiting two brand new bespoke instruments. One of the new instruments is Saxon-inspired and will sit on the ‘Saxon Wall’ beside pieces of Paul Gregory’s original artwork for the British metal stalwarts. The other….well, that’ll be a surprise. Be sure to drop into the gallery to see it!
The finals for this year’s ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ campaign steam-roll on and Bloodstock can now reveal the next round of winners landing a slot on the New Blood stage.
Livening up proceedings on Saturday are Merseyside winners Reaper (www.facebook.com/OfficialReaperUK), Nottingham champions Raised By Owls (www.facebook.com/RaisedByOwls), Burnley victors Ward XVI (www.facebook.com/WardXVI) and Decrepit Monolith (www.facebook.com/decrepitmonolith) who landed the top spot in Newcastle.
The heavy riffage of Prognosis (www.facebook.com/Prognosis1) who took first prize in Manchester, are added to Sunday’s bill. Bloodstock has also decided to extend an invitation to three other exceptional bands, so performing on Friday, are Dorset’s sludge / groove metallers Thuum (https://youtu.be/tyJfpdbE9Vs) and Carlisle’s runners up, the prog / tech death Blood Thread (https://youtu.be/73sYRntuB94). Dublin’s second-placed Na Cruthne (https://youtu.be/Q5QzFgZFMq0) also join the bill Sunday, bringing a unique blend of groove & black metal, but with influences from traditional Irish, Scottish, and Breton music.
Bloodstocks pleased to reveal that the festival’s official charity partner for 2017 will once again be Teenage Cancer Trust. Since partnering up in 2011, Bloodstock is very proud that over £50,000 has been raised to date to help young people facing cancer. Don’t miss the charity’s stall in the market area, where you can purchase Teenage Cancer Trust merchandise and join in the popular ‘T-Shirt Amnesty’ (bring your unwanted band t-shirts to donate or swap).
Bloodstock will take place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 10th-13th August 2017. Pick up tickets at http://bloodstock.seetickets.com.

5FDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory states: "We are currently playing all the European festivals and are having an amazing time. As these massive crowds are singing along every word of the lyrics, it feels like Europe is truly becoming the second home of Five Finger Death Punch. We can't wait to come back this Fall and especially with In Flames which is one of my favorite bands. This will be something special to see…”
In Flames singer Anders Fridén offers: “We’ve been lucky to play for so many Jesterheads around the World this year and can’t think of a better way to end 2017 than touring Europe with Five Finger Death Punch. We’ll see you soon Jesterheads and Knuckleheads. It’s going to be a tour to remember.”
Support on select EU dates and all UK dates of the tour comes from Of Mice And Men. The Orange County, CA-based band recently returned with two brand new songs, “Back To Me” and “Unbreakable,” via Rise Records. They performed a successful main stage set at Download Festival this past weekend and will be on tour across Europe throughout July. The band has sold over 700,000 records worldwide and previously toured with the likes of Linkin Park, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson.
Both Five Finger Death Punch and In Flames remain leaders of hard rock and heavy music worldwide:
Five Finger Death Punch’s crushingly epic 2015 sixth full-length studio album Got Your Six, hit new heights for the band around the world with chart-topping debuts in the US (#1 on Top Album chart, #1 on Overall Digital Album chart, #1 on the Hard Music Album chart, #2 on the Billboard Top 200) and internationally (Australia & Canada #3, Germany & Sweden #5, UK #6 Holland #17, Belgium #29 and France #32). The album was the sixth consecutive one to earn the Las Vegas rockers a RIAA Gold certification. Acclaimed by The Guardian and Classic Rock, it yielded four successive Active Rock smashes “Jekyll & Hyde” (50.4 million Spotify streams), #1 hit single “Wash It All Away” (32.9 million Spotify streams), “My Nemesis” #2 (16.29 million Spotify streams) and most recently “I Apologize” #3 (17.5 million Spotify streams). Refining their inimitable fusion of intricate instrumentation and undeniable hooks, Got Your Six represents yet another high watermark for the group who claim 17 consecutive Top 10 Hits, five #1 songs and frequently outsell the majority of bands in their genre.
12 albums into their storied career, In Flames reached new heights on 2016’s Battles—produced by GRAMMY Award winner Howard Benson [My Chemical Romance, Papa Roach], hitting Top 10 charts around the World with a #2 in Sweden, #3 in Finland and multiple other major countries such as Germany and Austria. Alternative Press, Metal Hammer, and more praised the record as the hit “The End” clocked over 6.6 million Spotify streams and counting. Most recently, they unleashed two new official music videos for their latest singles; first being “Here Until Forever” in May via Decibel, HERE and “Save Me” via European retail giant EMP, today upon announcement of the tour.
