Denmark's finest black metal bands Solbrud and Orm have both released some of the most vital albums of 2017, and now, announce a joint tour of Denmark in November, called Blōtmōnaþ 2017.
There is movement in the shadows of Danish metal, as new talented bands have emerged from the darkest and coldest crannies of the scene during the last couple of years. Solbrud and Orm are two of those bands. Both have released heavyweight black metal albums via Indisciplinarian in 2017 and have thereby contributed to the increasing high standard of Danish metal music.
Atmospheric black metallers Solbrud have existed since 2009 and released their third album Vemod - a wuthering and misanthropic piece of black metal art - this past June, a co-release with Vendetta Records. The band is known for their captivating and hypnotic live shows, and they have just returned from a success full European tour with Wildernessking from South Africa. The quartet ORM made their recorded debut with an epic but hammering self-titled album this past March, and the subsequent shows have consolidated the band as an excellent live act.
Now, Soldbrud and Orm join forces in November for a tour of their native country Denmark entitled Blōtmōnaþ 2017. The word (pronounced Blotmonath) means "month of sacrifice" in old Anglo-Saxon tongue, and November was exactly the month, where Northern pagans slaughtered the cattle to honour the gods and prepare for winter. Denmark and its citizens can look forward to a bloody month where the nation's prime black metal ensembles will proclaim the coming of winter with their sinister tales and fierce soundscapes. The tour is presented by 3rd Tsunami Agency and Gearbox Agency, and tickets for all shows are now on sale RIGHT HERE.
Stream the new albums by Soldbrud and Orm album at the Indisciplinarian Bandcamp HERE.
Find the high-quality gatefold LP versions of Soldbrud's Vemod and Orm's Orm in the US at Earsplit Distro HERE and internationally at the Indisciplinarian webstore HERE.

One thing that sets Bloodstock apart from other festivals is festival founder, Paul Raymond Gregory’s on-site RAM Gallery. In addition to showing selections from his own world-renowned portfolio, Paul invites some of his favourite rock & metal-related artists to exhibit. This year he welcomes Berlin-based artist and illustrator, Eliran Kantor, who’ll show six pieces of work. Eliran has created sleeve art for numerous metal artists including Testament, Soulfly, Iced Earth, and Hatebreed. Returning to the RAM Gallery in 2017 is Orange County artist, Christian Sloan Hall, who show a few of the many pieces of work he’s created for our Friday headliner, Amon Amarth. Christian will be in the gallery to sign limited edition prints, which will be available for sale, so come by, say hello and snap up something extra special for your wall.
Also exhibiting will be Daniel P. Carter; artist, musician, and presenter of the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show. Dan studied at the prestigious St Martins School of Art and has created sleeves for many albums, most recently Me And That Man’s debut (Nergal from Behemoth’s side project), ‘Songs of Love And Death’. On the photography side, the RAM Gallery is also thrilled to welcome celebrated rock photographer, Paul Harries, who’ll show six photographic pieces from his incredible portfolio. Adding a new flavour to the gallery this year is Heathen Waxworks. Their hand-carved 3D candleware in a range of unique designs are based on RAM Gallery-appropriate mythical and esoteric themes; Nordic Storm, Pagan Woodland, Native American, Hammered Horror and Satanic Majesty.
Lastly but not leastly, regular RAM Gallery contributor and luthier Cynosure, creator of hand-made guitars as art, will be exhibiting two brand new bespoke instruments. One of the new instruments is Saxon-inspired and will sit on the ‘Saxon Wall’ beside pieces of Paul Gregory’s original artwork for the British metal stalwarts. The other….well, that’ll be a surprise. Be sure to drop into the gallery to see it!

Northern Symphony is the UK's premier symphonic metal event that actively supports the UK's symphonic metal talent. Starting in 2015, the festival has featured bands from all across the UK, including Winter In Eden, Old Corpse Road, Apparition and more as well as the odd band or two from Europe.
With just over a month until the third edition of the event, Birmingham based outfit Celestial Wish have been added to the billing as main support to co-headliners Dakesis and Control The Storm. The band commented: "It's amazing to be playing Northern Symphony with so many great bands!"
Celestial Wish are a Birmingham-based Symphonic Metal act currently consisting of; Frontwoman Saneeta Ram, guitarist and orchestral composer Daniel Carpenter, violist Eileen Smith and bassist Fraser Banks. Their sound is characterised by the use of powerful orchestration, enchanting synths, soaring vocals, heavy riffs and blistering solos, which all come together to form a sound that takes the listener into their own personal dreamland, where each Celestial Wish comes true, and anything is possible.
Celestial Wish are heavily influenced by bands such as Nightwish, Kamelot, Avantasia, Within Temptation, Evanescence and Sonata Arctica, however, their list of influences goes far beyond the Metal genre, including such composers as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Schwarz and Danny Elfman. All of these inspirations have come together to form a powerful sound that one might describe as majestic, or epic.
