The 'United Kingdom Extreme Metal' record label has decided to launch their own loyalty scheme as laid out below:- The decision has been taken to launch a customer loyalty scheme, used as a ‘thank you‘ to everyone that shops in the web-store. It’s a very basic scheme in that for every order placed points are earned. Once a customer reaches 10 points they are entitled to a FREE cd with a value of anything up to £10. If you are a vinyl collector, save your points up and when you get to 20 points, chose a FREE vinyl! The software installed into the store keeps a count of points earned each time a customer buys from the store, so its going to be very easy. I will also ensure that every customers points total is being counted correctly and kept up to date. Even if you don’t realise you have reached a total which earns a FREE title, don’t worry, you will be contacted via email reminding you that you can chose your FREE item This is brand new and is a work in progress so i will be developing things in the coming weeks. Hopefully there wont be any ‘teething problems’, but if there are I will endeavour to resolve any issue immediately. Any questions or concerns, please feel free to email: [email protected] Thank you for your continued support and Happy Collecting! Packaged in a distinctive red metallic bag, Kenya Thrash is a bold high-octane blend of 90% Kenya-Kichwa Arabica Beans, and 10% India Robusta, roasted with a kick, for a high blend of flavour and function. An “Earthy and Savory” blend, with distinct notes of Grapefruit and Black Pepper, Kenya Thrash is a guaranteed wake up call to body, mind, and taste-buds. “Thrash” is the follow-up to Roast In Peace, the highly celebrated original Dark Roast Blend, small-batch roasted from 100% Brazilian Arabica, with distinctive notes of “Chocolate, Dark Caramel, and Roasted Nuts”, already receiving high praise from coffee lovers and media alike. With features on major web outlets like Blabbermouth, Brave Words, a segment with Ellefson on Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante’s Coffee podcast, and a feature in the July issue of Revolver Magazine, and high profile artists like Hellyeah, Sevendust and Lamb of God publicly singing it’s praises, Roast In Peace has already become a staple in the mugs of the Rock N’ Roll elite. But, says Ellefson, Roast In Peace is more than just a distinctive coffee offering, but also a mission statement. “My love for coffee has accompanied me around the world for my entire musical career. Just like the spirit of a culture or the melody of a song, the enjoyment of coffee brings people together and creates harmony among us. The beans in this bag are traceable to their global origin and exemplify the spirit and culture of the people who grew them." "It is my aim to bring this roast to our tables and awake our taste buds, fire up our rock n roll spirits and continue the global fellowship of music, art and coffee. May you, Roast in Peace!" Ellefson Coffee Co blends are artfully small batch roasted by Parliament Coffee Roasters, and the blends hand picked by Ellefson himself. Both blends are available in 12 OZ Whole Bean (or Ground) bags directly from empmerch.com. Ellefsoncoffeeco.com facebook.com/ellefsoncoffeeco "Thanks to Virgin Radio for this!" Virgin Radio Breakfast Show presenter Edith Bowman is a true festival veteran, having attended and broadcast from almost all of the major music events of the year, including Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight Festival, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds Festivals. Her experience is such that she has even published a book on the subject, Edith Bowman’s Great British Festivals, which delves into the festival scene and explores some of the less known festival delicacies on offer across the country in the search for the ‘ultimate festival’. Armed with impeccable music knowledge and a thirst for discovering new bands, Edith is ready for another summer of partying hard and… eating doughnuts, and wants to share her top tips for enjoying the best of British music festivals this summer: 1. Don’t mention the weather or the toilets. We live in Britain, the weather is unpredictable and the sooner you get your head around that the better. It’s probably going to rain but if you are prepared for it then you will have a better time. Toilets, get over any kind of cleanliness OCD, just have some hand sanitiser and try the she-pee – it’s quite empowering! 2. Although there are obviously bands and artists you want to see, don’t make too many plans. Allow yourself some wander time. This is where I’ve discovered some of my favourite bands by just going blind into tents and to stages to check out things I’ve never heard of. Also allow yourself to have a wander yourself - it’s really healthy and forces you to communicate with people in that old fashioned way of talking. 3. Travel light. Most probably anything you need you can get there. Take the basics that cover you for all weather and with that I’d suggest layers, a good Mac, a good pair of boots that don’t have to be wellies, good sunglasses and hat, dry shampoo and most definitely a high factor sunscreen. 4. Pace yourself. I have learnt from experience that you can get a little overexcited by the whole thing of being at a festival with mates, but losing a whole day is never a good look, trust me. 5. Doughnuts. These will keep you going. Make sure you find your nearest fresh doughnut stall, it might just save your life. 6. Challenge your mind and be adventurous. Step outside your comfort zone and go and see something maybe non-music related that is something you have never seen before. Festivals can be a wonderful place to expand your mind to explore new and exciting art forms. 7. Meeting point. Work out a meeting point with your mates and maybe a certain time you all meet up so that if you do get separated you know where and when you can all touch base. 8. Charging. There are loads of charging locations at festivals so try and not get to the point where your phone is totally out of charge. 9. Camping. You’re either into it or you’re not. I think it's a lot of fun, especially if you can create a commune area where you can have your own little party. I remember one Glasto where we all cooked breakfast before heading out to start another day, which was a great way to wake up. Late night drinks and singalongs and chats – it’s lovely. 10. But if you’re not into the camping thing then there are plenty other options for accommodation, you now can't use camping as an excuse not to go! Edith Bowman presents the breakfast show on Virgin Radio, weekdays from 6am – 10am Listen online, on mobile, and through the app www.virginradio.co.uk Lo Sound Desert provides a deep, intimate look into the Low Desert music scene’s history with never-ending jams in the middle of the desert which continues to live on with the same vitality, authenticity and resilience as two decades ago. Lo Sound Desert is narrated by Josh Homme (Kyuss, Eagles of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures), Brant Bjork (Kyuss, Fu Manchu), Mario Lalli (Fatso Jetson, Orquestra del Desierto, Ten East, The Perfect Rat) and many other from bands like Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age, Yawning Man, Fatso Jetson, Mondo Generator, Dali’s Llama, Hornss, Slo Burn, Unida and Fu Manchu. What was started by revolting punk rock kids throwing parties in the middle of the desert - hidden from narrow-minded authorities of suburban America in the early 80s, became a movement over the years.
From endless jams in unconditioned rehearsal garages to wasteland venues to smoked-up European backstage rooms: ‘Desert Rock’, a specific vibe of pure analog rock music, was fostered by the beauty of a surrounding that naturally provides a lot of space. Until nowadays it continued its slow-moving underground spread and became international treasure. In a way Desert Rock never reached extreme popularity like simultaneously grown, commercially hyped Grunge Rock in the early 90’s. But it still seems to be around and inspires new generations of rock bands to carry on. A release party in Berlin will be held on June 24th 2016 at Kino Zukunft, presented by Rock/Squad, SOL, DesertFest, RockHard, Visions and Monduo Films. Lo Sound Desert will screen at 8pm, followed by concerts of Powder for Pigeons, Vic Du Monte’s Persona Non Grata, Operators, Jan Schwarzkamp, Dj Eggs Delicious and more to be announced. Info can be found here: www.facebook.com/events/235970100099603 On July 1st 2016 and with the help of UK promoters Desertscene and Desertfest they're celebrating Lo Sound Desert's release and the London premiere with a screening of the long 2-part version (incl. bladder-friendly intermission) at one of the The Desert Fest location's The Black Heart, featuring bands live on stage after the screening and a getting out of hands DJ-party afterwards. Rogue Records America crossed over into the digital media of video games earlier in the year with their ARK Survival Evolved mod Thieves Island, loosely based off the San Francisco rock band Amongst Thieves but with this upcoming radio station mod Rogue Radio for Fallout 4, Rogue is planting a flag in the video game world and looking to expand its game side with this Fallout 4 mod. Rogue Radio will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and will be a mod that anyone with the game can download for free. Once downloaded, the players Pip Boy will have the Rogue Radio station in their Radio list playing the best heavy metal and hard rock. The radio station will feature all of Rogue's artists as well as many other National and Emerging artists. "We saw that the opportunity was not only there for OUR artists, but we had room to add other artists. Bands we admire and bands who wanted a chance to increase their reach to hopefully obtain new fans," says a spokesman for the label. The mod will feature 44 songs by 38 bands and have 2 DJ's each with their own style and playlist. Johnny Rogue is the 1st Dj, a survivor from the publisher (the actual real life internet mascot for the publisher) who has started to go insane and Fearless Jes Fama played by Jes Fama of the Radio Podcast Almost Fama. The publisher will be posting in game footage of the development on its YouTube, Twitter and Facebook pages if anyone wants to follow along on the progress and get a sneak peek. "We are aiming for the 4th but we have to take a few things into consideration, like compatibility on all platforms. Testing is what will take the longest on here but we need to get it right so everyone can enjoy what we have done." Official Charts data for 2016 shows that LP's are on track to smash through the three million unit mark for the first time in more than 20 years. Gennaro Castaldo, Director of Communications at BPI, said: “Sales of vinyl have risen dramatically since their low point in 2007, with over 2 million LPs purchased last year for the first time in more than two decades. With no let-up in sight, the BPI has every expectation this trend will continue, and estimates that up to 3.5 million LPs or more could be purchased during the course of 2016”. The major investment we are seeing in vinyl from HMV and other retailers alongside the commitment of labels and the artists themselves, can only add further impetus to this remarkable growth.” Ian Topping, Chief Executive of HMV said: “As the UK's largest vinyl retailer, HMV has expanded its offer considerably in 2016 due to the ever-growing demand from our customers. The strong resurgence of vinyl is set to continue as the highlight of the UK entertainment industry - expect vinyl to be top of the Father's Day gift list this year” Adam Teskey, Manufacturing Director of The Vinyl Factory commented: "The demand for vinyl has been booming over the past few years and show no sign of slowing down. Our pressing plant is running 50% more records now than in 2014 and our projected forecasts allow for this very positive trend to continue.” *ENDS* http://www.hmv.com/music/hmv-loves-vinyl |
