The Eddie Van Halen store has released a commemorative shoe, the 1978 High Top, honouring the occasion of Eddie’s groundbreaking debut to the world stage with the release of the first Van Halen album, some 40 years ago. Brothers and plant-based chefs, Derek and Chad Sarno, have teamed up with Executive Producer Woody Harrelson and Tin Rocket Entertainment to develop a new documentary series celebrating the forward thinkers, social entrepreneurs and rock star chefs on the front lines of the sustainable food movement.
 
The original series, Wicked Healthy World (wt), will follow the Sarnos on their quest to meet the amazing people who are blazing new trails for a healthier population and planet. Their journey will take them everywhere from the fascinating indoor mushroom farms of South Korea, to the organic rooftop farms of Tel Aviv.
 
"Chad and Derek are doing some incredible work. They are at the forefront of a plant-based movement that's been building for decades and is now becoming a tsunami," states Executive Producer Woody Harrelson in the foreword of the brothers' cookbook, Wicked Healthy, that was released worldwide in May.
 
With this series, the Sarnos will shine a light on all of the positive momentum surrounding sustainable food, and recognize the creative people making inroads in this area. "My brother and I are excited to meet other innovators who share our passion and who have developed solutions to bring about change." Chad Sarno says.
 
Wicked Healthy World (wt) will be produced by Tin Rocket Entertainment with Woody Harrelson, Jerry D'Alessandro, Lisa Tanzer and Ira Chute serving as executive producers.

During the longest siege a capital city has faced in the history of modern warfare, and amid the mortars and grenades, a heavy metal band agreed to play a concert…

Scream for Me Sarajevo is the astonishing story of the most unlikely of rock concerts, performed by Bruce Dickinson and his band Skunkworks in 1994. Risking their lives, they were smuggled into the besieged city to play a concert for its citizens amidst the chaos of war.

The film is far from a straight concert movie and provides an insight into a wider story of the people of Sarajevo taking drastic measures to endure the privations of war and pushing the boundaries to survive. It reflects a thriving underground arts community who were living their lives in the shadow of war and making music in the face of devastating loss, and the huge impact the concert had on the people of Sarajevo at a time when they thought they had been forgotten by the rest of the world. 

This must-see documentary includes footage of the gig and the war itself, as well as recent interviews with Bruce and his bandmates.  The documentary also follows Bruce making an emotional return to Sarajevo, “War turns the world on its head, but this is an optimistic message”. Speaking of his experience Bruce said, “It changed the way I viewed life, death and other human beings”.*

In addition to the film’s release, via Eagle Vision, the music from the film is being released on CD/double LP via BMG.

Comprising music from the film which spans Bruce Dickinson’s solo career, the album features the rarities ‘Acoustic Song’ (previously only available as a bonus track on the 2001 Best Of Special Edition), ‘Inertia (Live)’ (previously only available as a bonus track on the expanded re-release of ‘Skunkworks’ in 2005) and the album closer ‘Eternal’ (previously only available as Japanese bonus tracks on ‘Tyranny Of Souls’).

It started with a small idea from a small indie publisher but the Rogue Radio mod for Fallout 4 is currently under development and looking to be released cross platform in July.
 
Rogue Records America crossed over into the digital media of video games earlier in the year with their ARK Survival Evolved mod Thieves Island, loosely based off the San Francisco rock band Amongst Thieves but with this upcoming radio station mod Rogue Radio for Fallout 4, Rogue is planting a flag in the video game world and looking to expand its game side with this Fallout 4 mod.
 
Rogue Radio will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and will be a mod that anyone with the game can download for free. Once downloaded, the players Pip Boy will have the Rogue Radio station in their Radio list playing the best heavy metal and hard rock. The radio station will feature all of Rogue's artists as well as many other National and Emerging artists.
 
"We saw that the opportunity was not only there for OUR artists, but we had room to add other artists. Bands we admire and bands who wanted a chance to increase their reach to hopefully obtain new fans,"  says a spokesman for the label.
 
The mod will feature 44 songs by 38 bands and have 2 DJ's each with their own style and playlist. Johnny Rogue is the 1st Dj, a survivor from the publisher (the actual real life internet mascot for the publisher) who has started to go insane and Fearless Jes Fama played by Jes Fama of the Radio Podcast Almost Fama.
 
The publisher will be posting in game footage of the development on its YouTube, Twitter and Facebook pages if anyone wants to follow along on the progress and get a sneak peek.

The team at Rogue are hard at work putting the mod together and are hoping for a release in time for the 4th of July. "We are aiming for the 4th but we have to take a few things into consideration, like compatibility on all platforms. Testing is what will take the longest on here but we need to get it right so everyone can enjoy what we have done."

The Heavy Metal cooking show "Headbanger's Kitchen" which is hosted by Demonic Resurrection front-man Demonstealer has released a new episode from their 'Uncooked' series. The Uncooked series is a mini episode which features artist interviews without any cooking. The first episode features ex-Demonic Resurrection lead guitarist Daniel Kenneth Rego who discusses his love for tea and also brews up the perfect cup.

The Village Voice is also thrilled to announce that Choice Streets 2014 will feature DJ sets by Andy Rourke of The Smiths, the legendary alt-rock band that materialized from the British independent music scene in the 1980s. A friend of The Village Voice, Rourke DJed The Village Voice's foodie event "Choice Eats" in 2012 and is now back by popular demand. Since The Smiths parted ways in 1987, Andy Rourke has played and recorded with some of music's greatest performers such as Sinead O'Connor, Morrissey, The Pretenders, and Badly Drawn Boy. These days, Rourke calls New York City his home and spends his time DJing on East Village Radio's Jetlag show and at various nightclubs around the city.   

"Choice Streets" also announces the launch of their truckers Choice Streets Volunteer program with applications now open today. Set amid the backdrop of the New York City Landmark - The Intrepid - attendees will feast on Pier 86 and enjoy and evening of fabulous food, drinks and an amazing view of the city and Hudson River. This year's "Choice Streets" will feature three tiers of ticket options.
