Die With Your Boots On is the name of the successful collaboration that launched back in 2019 between Iron Maiden and West Ham United. With thousands of home shirts sold, there was huge appetite from West Ham & Steve to extend the range for fans around the world to enjoy in both football and music. The new West Ham / Iron Maiden away shirt (worn by West Ham attacking midfielder Saïd Benrahma & Steve Harris above) is accompanied with a new West Ham / Iron Maiden training jacket and a new range of Iron Maiden training wear.
Harris has been flying the flag for West Ham on stage for decades, with his bass guitar even featuring the club’s iconic logo. His love for the Hammers goes back to 1965 and many Maiden fans around the world have embraced Harris’ passion for West Ham and taken up support for the club themselves, often appearing at concerts in Hammers apparel.

“I went to see West Ham play against Newcastle when I was 9 and my mate was 10. We jumped on a bus and went to the game, and they won 4-3 and that was it. I was hooked!”
Many Maiden fans around the world have embraced Harris’ passion for West Ham and taken up support for the club themselves, often appearing at concerts in Hammers apparel. Steve added:-
“When I’m up there playing and I see fans in the audience wearing West Ham stuff it gives me goosebumps.”
Tracey Stratton, Licensing Manager at West Ham, was aware of the phenomenon:-
“One weekend last summer our club shop was inundated with rock fans from all across the globe, and we realised that Iron Maiden were playing two sold out shows at the O2. It makes perfect sense to launch this collaboration, and with Steve’s passion for it and attention to detail it has been amazing.”
Harris is very proud of the tie up with West Ham and was deeply involved in the design process, commenting:-
“I think it’s brilliant. I really love that version and colour of the crest, and that old classic kind of kit. It’s a modern shape but with a retro design, and I like that. Up the Irons!”
A full home kit will be available to fans around the world, who can now show their love for both institutions with one unique homage to the Irons. Steve launched the kit with West Ham and Argentina defender Pablo Zabaleta, who added:-
“Iron Maiden are a huge icon back home in South America and it’s great for fans of West Ham and the band to be able to show their support for both!”

The Eddie Van Halen store has released a commemorative shoe, the 1978 High Top, honouring the occasion of Eddie’s groundbreaking debut to the world stage with the release of the first Van Halen album, some 40 years ago. Adding to the growing collection of footwear offered by the EVH™ brand, the 1978 High Tops are a black and white classic high-top sneakers. The outer side features a live photo of Eddie Van Halen playing guitar on the first world tour, and the inner side of the shoe has 1978 prominently displayed in a circular badge. The Eddie Van Halen logo appears on both the tongue of the shoe and on the back sole, and the back panel features his signature white with black striped pattern.

Trooper Beer, the award winning collaboration between Stockport-based Robinsons Brewery and British music icons Iron Maiden, celebrated its 5th Birthday on Wednesday 9th May 2018.
Since its launch in 2013, the 4.7% ABV Premium British Beer has sold over 20 million pints, firmly establishing itself as a top 40 UK beer brand, whilst becoming a leading player amongst exported British Ales, having been sold in over 50 countries worldwide.
The Trooper family has grown to include three Limited Edition beers: Trooper 666 in 2015, with an ABV of 6.6%; Red ‘n’ Black, a porter style beer launched in 2016; and 2017’s Hallowed, a Belgium inspired hybrid ale.
2018 has also seen the launch of Light Brigade, a 4.1% ABV Golden beer brewed in support of Help For Heroes, the British charity that provides recovery and support for the Armed Forces community whose lives are affected by their service, which is currently being rolled out across the UK.
These beers are the brainchild of Iron Maiden vocalist and ale aficionado Bruce Dickinson, working in partnership with Robinsons’ Head Brewer, Martyn Weeks. Dickinson commented:

During the longest siege a capital city has faced in the history of modern warfare, and amid the mortars and grenades, a heavy metal band agreed to play a concert…
Scream for Me Sarajevo is the astonishing story of the most unlikely of rock concerts, performed by Bruce Dickinson and his band Skunkworks in 1994. Risking their lives, they were smuggled into the besieged city to play a concert for its citizens amidst the chaos of war.
The film is far from a straight concert movie and provides an insight into a wider story of the people of Sarajevo taking drastic measures to endure the privations of war and pushing the boundaries to survive. It reflects a thriving underground arts community who were living their lives in the shadow of war and making music in the face of devastating loss, and the huge impact the concert had on the people of Sarajevo at a time when they thought they had been forgotten by the rest of the world.
This must-see documentary includes footage of the gig and the war itself, as well as recent interviews with Bruce and his bandmates. The documentary also follows Bruce making an emotional return to Sarajevo, “War turns the world on its head, but this is an optimistic message”. Speaking of his experience Bruce said, “It changed the way I viewed life, death and other human beings”.*
In addition to the film’s release, via Eagle Vision, the music from the film is being released on CD/double LP via BMG.

The first ever official Iron Maiden comic book series is coming from leading US science fiction, fantasy and horror publishers Heavy Metal Publishing. The comic books are based on the band’s hit mobile role playing game, Iron Maiden: Legacy Of The Beast, where players battle as Eddie across the many worlds of Iron Maiden’s discography, from the ancient sands of Powerslave to the far flung future of The Final Frontier.

The Trooper Heavy Metal Truants, a charity cycle ride co-founded in 2012 by former Metal Hammer editor-in-chief Alexander Milas and Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood, is set to depart from London’s Alexandra Palace on the morning of Wednesday, June 7th for its fifth annual pilgrimage to Download Festival to benefit three children’s charities: Teenage Cancer Trust, Nordoff Robbins, and Childline. To date, they have raised £338,000.
Now in its fifth year, the three day, 164-mile ride consists of 50 cyclists from every walk of life - fans, industry, and bands who’ve included Paradise Lost, Amon Amarth, Trivium, Orange Goblin, Pendulum, Tesseract, The Raven Age and more.
To kick off their week of fundraising, The Trooper Heavy Metal Truants announced titular sponsorship from the award-winning Trooper Premium British Beer created by Iron Maiden and hand crafted by Robinsons Brewery. They have also teamed up with long-time supporters and rock/metal cabaret sensations The Lounge Kittens to record a charity single, which sees this year’s cyclists adding their vocals to a cover of 'Bicycle Race', by Queen. The single, which was mixed Olli Daffarn at Blue Dot studios, will be available via Amazon and other online retailers, and it will be followed by the launch of the Monster Rock Auction on June 6th at 6pm (6/6 @ 6).
Featuring high-end items personally donated by the world’s biggest bands, the auction will be staggered, and the first round of items will include a bass guitar donated by Geddy Lee of Rush, handwritten 'Livin’ On A Prayer' lyrics written by Jon Bon Jovi, rare original and signed Grateful Dead artwork, a signed Metallica Les Paul guitar, and a rare original oil-on-canvas portrait of The Beatles’ George Harrison by famed pop and rock artist Barry Novis. A second and even larger lot is to be announced on July 4th.
“This is all about community and doing some good in the world,” says Smallwood. “It’s that sense of community that’s at the core of heavy metal culture, and it’s also been key to the success of the Heavy Metal Truants, because people at every level of our world have truly pulled together to make this happen.”
