Holy Fever stream 'Duress' ahead of debut album release on 8th April‏

With their debut album release on the horizon, Holy Fever have unveiled another new track from the record in the form of ‘Duress’. Vocalist Todd Cooper explains the feeling behind the track -

"The sense of urgency and aggression in “Duress” mimics the head-space we were in at the time we wrote it. We were toward the end of writing the record and simultaneously exhausted and filled with adrenaline as we started to see the finish line. Sam had this idea that the chorus would just be one note and the lyric would be one word. This is one of our favourites to play live.”

‘Duress’ is the opening track on Holy Fever’s first full-length record, ‘The Wreckage’, which the band will be self releasing on 8th April, 2016. Comprised of members of underground punk favourites American Nightmare, The Hope Conspiracy, and The Explosion, and with crossover members of indie-pop band Beginners, Holy Fever’s sound feels recognizable, yet totally unexpected. ‘The Wreckage’ is marked by unlikely combinations, punctuated by surprising hooks; challenging punk convention.

The first single to be released from the record, vigilante justice anthem, ‘Find your Fame’, feels like the rebellious love child of Bikini Kill and The Hives exemplifying the duelling vocals from Todd Cooper and Samantha Barbera (also on bass), gritty guitar riffs from Neeraj Kane and Brian Masek, and Andrew Black’s explosive drumming.

The artwork for the ‘The Wreckage’ was created by renowned LA-based artist Luke McGarry and the band recorded in Paul Miner’s (ex Death By Stereo) studio in Orange, CA with Holy Fever self-producing and Miner engineering.

Greta Salóme represents Iceland for the second time in Eurovision 2016; Iceland celebrates 30 years participation

Icelandic singer / songwriter and violinist, Greta Salóme will represent Iceland for the second time in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with her song "Hear Them Calling". The Iceland Eurovision Grand Prix was held in three parts last February, two semi-finals and a final.

Greta performed the song in Icelandic in the first semi-final of the Iceland Grand Prix, where it was named "Raddirnar". She then released and performed the English version in the final. This year Greta had two songs for the competition, "Hear them Calling", and "Á ný", performed by Greta's childhood friend Elísabet Ormslev.

Since her last Eurovision adventure, Greta has been performing all over the world, and in 2014 she signed a contract with Disney Enterprises. The summer of 2014 she performed on Disney cruises between Florida and the Bahamas. She returned to Disney in 2015 and has been a regular performer on the Disney cruise ships, The Disney Dream and The Disney Magic, where she had her own show, "Ice! Fire! Strings", performing her own compositions as well as world famous Disney songs. In June, Greta Salóme will return to Disney for the summer cruises.

As most Eurovision fans know, Greta participated for Iceland in Baku, Azerbaijan 2012. There she also performed her own song, "Never Forget", a duet with Icelandic singer Jónsi (Eurovision 2005).

This year's contest was grander than ever in celebration of Iceland's 30 years in the Eurovision Song Contest. Six songs competed and the winning song was selected via televoting after a duel between the top two songs. The show included performances by Swedish 2012 winner, Loreen, and the Belgian 1986 winner, Sandra Kim, as well as a special performance by Pálmi Gunnarsson and Helga Möller, 2/3 of the ICY trio that performed Iceland's first entry, Gleðibankinn, on the Eurovision stage in Bergen, Norway in 1986.

Italy's Helalyn Flowers return with "Sonic Foundation", available in various formats

The Italian duo of Helalyn Flowers strike back at full force with the uncompromising determination of redefining our sonic foundation! A quite ambitious challenge after the detonating success of their last studio album “White Me In // Black Me Out” released back in 2013 after which we were all wondering what could be achieved next… Well, with the last October surprise release of the “Beware Of Light” EP, Helalyn Flowers clearly reaffirmed their sonic force and capacity of selecting the perfect guests to collaborate with for an optimal result. The astounding duet with Chris Pohl (Blutengel, Terminal Choice…) instantly pushed them back in the spotlight of all alternative clubs across the globe.

N0emi Aurora and maXX are not the kind of artists who content themselves repeating the same recipe of success again and again. And on this new 4th full length album, they more than ever push their artistic limits to the max: connecting extremes together, fusing eclectic music styles just like playing with fire and ice, experimenting with their colourful sonic palette for the absolute fusion of genres distilled into their very own and so characteristic hi-energy and modern darkwave style lead by the charismatic female vocals of N0emi Aurora whose impressive vocal range and extravagant personality are showcased at their ultimate best evoking singers like Lady Gaga, Siouxsie Sioux or yet Cristina Scabbia at other moments!

Just take extremely opposite songs like the catchy addictive cyber pop of “Frozen Star” and the speed punk rock collaboration with Angelspit on “Maths Of Chaos” and you clearly perceive that the bar set by this album of maturity for Helalyn Flowers affirms the band’s open minded creative approach. We witness their unique ability to marry their diverse range of influences across their compositions while keeping a sharp sound cohesion along the line while making at the same time allusions to Rammstein’s heaviness, Gary Numan’s melody, David Bowie’s depth, KMFDM’s rage, The Cure’s darkness or yet Madonna’s magnetism.

From the martial rhythmic Industrial Metal of "Karmageddon" or "New Days Of Babylon" to the EBM-injected Electro Rock of "Synthetic Paranoia". From the surprising blend of Psychic TV's Acid Techno-Era meets The Prodigy and Black Metal-infused Killing Joke tones of "Shadow Complex" to the sci-fi ambient touch of the post-urban hit "Frozen Star". From the freezing ritual chant of “Eerie” to the goth rock anthem “For All Bad Things” or yet the ultimate industrial ballad “I Saved An Angel” and its ghostly guitars, melodic piano notes and stunning vocal lines. “Sonic Foundation” is an addictive album uniting catchy Electro and alluring Industrial Metal in absolute symbiosis thanks to Helalyn Flowers’ unique sound alchemy bringing power, melody, darkness and sexiness in one cohesive sound shell. "Sonic Foundation" is an album that uncoils through dangerous and surrealistic figurative worlds, invoking post-primitive scenarios à-la William Burroughs and David Lynch.

The band’s strong imagery and iconic visuals get an expanded dimension on the albums deluxe carton box edition augmented by the "Androids In Agony" bonus disc, a non stop-mix of reinterpretations by acts like The Psychic Force, Alien Vampires, Ego Likeness, Simon Carter, EEXEE etc., while Diana S. from Junksista and Ms Larsen from Lunacy Box contribute with remixes and additional guest vocals. Cherry on the cake: add two hard-club mixes from Helalyn Flowers of their songs "Karmageddon" and "Shadow Complex"…

The Big Moon are very pleased to announce details of a new single, their first through Fiction Records.

'Cupid' is available to stream now and a limited vinyl will be released on May 13th. It was produced and mixed by Catherine Marks (Foals/Wolf Alice), and follows their two acclaimed singles to date, Sucker and The Road.

Listen to it below or stream it here via Spotify.

It has been an exciting introductory year for Juliette, Fern, Soph and Celia of The Big Moon. Releasing their first recordings to widespread acclaim in 2015, the band have been busy selling out their shows across the UK, and performing to expansive audiences on high-profile support tours with the likes of The Vaccines, Ezra Furman and their new label mates The Maccabees.

The band return this Spring with another bullet of a track that heightens their already sky-high appeal. Cupid is everything that The Big Moon have already promised and more. A track full of punch, verve and a knowing swagger, capped by vocalist Juliette Jackson’s wry snarl of a delivery, and her bandmates pin-sharp harmonies. It’s a smart and confident next step forward.

The Big Moon will set out on a UK Spring tour in April supported by friends Virgin Kids. The twelve-date run kicks off at the Bodega Social Club in Nottingham on 30th March, concluding with a night at the 100 Club in London on the 13th April. Tickets are on sale now through the below links.
