Purson, the psychedelic rock act led by vocalist, guitarist & prime creative force Rosalie Cunningham, have taken a bold step into the world of fashion by joining forces with Mr Fish - the iconic British fashion brand whose clothes were worn by David Bowie, The Rolling Stones & Jimi Hendrix. Starting in 1966, Michael Fish forged his reputation by crafting clothes for celebrities, musical and otherwise, including Muhammad Ali, Princess Margaret & Pablo Picasso (!); the business closed in 1974 after a fire consumed the premises, but now the legendary Mr Fish name is back, and Purson are right at the heart of the re-launch – their retro influences and colourful persona, as displayed on latest studio album ‘Desire’s Magic Theatre’, making them the made-in-heaven muse for the latest Mr Fish creations. Indeed, both Cunningham and keyboard player Samuel Robinson have designed their own outfits – including cat-suits plus a pure silk man-dress – in close consultation with British design specialist David Mason, who has revived the Mr Fish name out of 34 Montagu Square, London: a blue-plaque location, dubbed ‘the secret Abbey Road’, that was once home to Jimi Hendrix, as well as Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney (who wrote ‘Eleanor Rigby’ there), John Lennon & Yoko Ono. Meanwhile, July 22ndwill see the release of a new version of the ‘Desire’s Magic Theatre’ album, Purson’s debut outing for Spinefarm Records. Having originally been issued on black vinyl, the LP – drawing inspiration from the rock operas of the late sixties & early seventies – will now be available on ‘Naked Blue’ vinyl for a limited period. Having toured the US with Ghost & The Sword, played the UK’s prestigious Download festival and become the proud recipient of the ‘Vanguard Award’ at the Progressive Music Awards (2015), Purson is quickly establishing itself as a growing force on the international music scene. Just recently, the band received an ‘Album Of 2016’ nomination from Prog magazine, whilst broader media awareness continues to be strong, with support from 6 Music right across the board. The following UK festivals are confirmed for July & August, with a headline tour being lined up for the autumn, complete with special London show (details to come)… July 23rd – Ramblin’ Man Fair, Maidstone August 7th – Cambridge Rock Festival In support of these shows, Purson will release a new video for ‘Electric Landlady’, a track from ‘Desire’s Magic Theatre’ that, according to Cunningham, is “essentially about Mother Earth, of feeling at home in the world, safe and loved, with some tongue-in-cheek lyrics”. http://www.purson.co.uk www.mr-fish.co.uk For Mr Fish ready to wear please visit http://www.livoos.com www.facebook.com/pursontheband www.spinefarm.com Indie buzz band Pvris have released “You and I,” the companion video for their brand-new single. The clip, which can be seen HERE, was shot in Sacramento with director Raul Gonzo. The track premiered on the Radio 1 Rock show last night & had a subsequent play on Radio 1 today. “You and I” is the latest in a flurry of video releases from the trio (Lynn Gunn, Alex Babinski, Brian MacDonald), following the February 10th premiere of “Smoke,” the February 12th debut of “Ghosts/Let Them In”, and the February 16th posting of “Eyelids.” All four videos will be featured in the deluxe version of the band’s debut album, White Noise (Rise). Available on iTunes here this new double-disc set includes a DVD with all of the band’s videos along with a CD that has full and unplugged versions of “You and I,” along with fan favorites like “St. Patrick” (which has over 6.6 million Spotify streams), “Holy,” (over 4 million streams), “My House” (which has racked up over 7 million streams), “Fire” (a BBC Radio 1 “Track of the Day”) and another new track titled “Empty” (both new songs were recorded with White Noise producer Blake Harnage). The band, who recently made their network television debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” is hitting the road with Fall Out Boy and Awolnation for an arena tour that kicks off this Friday in the USA and runs until 26th March. A near-sold-out European headlining tour will follow. alongside a sold out UK run. Pvris have spent the past year and a half playing to packed-house crowds around the world, stealing the show on last summer’s Warped Tour (founder Kevin Lyman called them the tour’s breakout act) before joining the likes of Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Deadmau5 on the Reading and Leeds festivals. This June they’ll join Florence & The Machine, Ellie Goulding and Disclosure on the Firefly Music Festival. Led by 21-year-old vocalist Lynn Gunn, who the Huffington Post described as “a force that cannot be denied,” Pvris hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart and No. 1 on their Trending 140 Chart. MTV.com lauded the group by writing, “Get acquainted with the mysteriously awesome Pvris before they become the biggest thing in rock. For fans of The Neighbourhood and Chvrches, Pvris are the best thing since sliced bread” and Alternative Press just spotlighted the band with a cover story. To date, the Boston-based group has over 12 million total YouTube views and 15,548,164 total streams in the US alone. All of which explains why Buzzfeed called the trio an “Artist You Should Be Listening To Right Now.” The track-listing for the "White Noise Deluxe" CD / DVD is as follows: DISC 1 (CD) You and I Empty Smoke St. Patrick My House Holy White Noise Fire Eyelids Mirrors Ghosts Let Them In You and I (Stripped) DISC 2 (DVD) You and I Smoke/Mirrors St. Patrick My House Holy White Noise Fire Eyelids Ghosts/Let Them In PVRIS HEADLINE SHOWS: 1st April Concorde Brighton SOLD OUT 2nd April NORWICH UEA SOLD OUT 3rd April Riverside Newcastle SOLD OUT 4th April GLASGOW ABC SOLD OUT 6th April MANCHESTER ACADEMY SOLD OUT 7th April O2 FORUM, LONDON SOLD OUT 8th April CARDIFF GREAT HALL SOLD OUT 9th April BIRMINGHAM O2 INSTITUTE SOLD OUT |
