This week, Hot Water Music continues its comeback streak with a provocative video for 'Exister's' first single, "State of Grace" which was written in response to health concerns surrounding genetically modified food. "State of Grace" was simply inspired by an infectious epidemic of health problems caused from the constant consumption of genetically modified food and non-organic farming continued to run on chemicals or additives," singer Chuck Ragan explains to Rolling Stone. "The fact of the matter is that our society as a whole has veered away from the simplicity of growing food and is now suffering and will continue to suffer the consequences until a greater population decides to make a change for the better." The song's video combines footage of the band peforming the terse punk anthem with shots of sickly children, injection needles and maggot-infested apples. "I fear we're good for nothing and simply disintegrating into the terra firma," the gruff-voiced frontman sings during the video's unsettling conclusion.
