Danish hardcore trio Halshug's scathing new full-length, Sort Sind, sees release today via Southern Lord and you can now hear it ahead of its release over at Team Rock. Splenetic and snarling throughout, Sort Sind features nine sharp and gritty new tracks that expresses boundless vehemence proving this to be a great feat for the band. Hear Sort Sind now at THIS LOCATION. The theme of Sort Sind is inspired by the members' experiences growing up in the 1990s and 2000s in neglected parts of Denmark, hoping to in some way contribute to their scene and invoke some energy in those who hear it. Fitting into this storyline are the previously released singles "Vold," which translates to violence, and according to the members of Halshug is about psychic terror and "Udskud," which also clearly displays the tumult and unrest the band has captured in their second full-length. The album's title, Sort Sind, translates to "black mind." A brutal rock record, Sort Sind bears hints of motorcycle-fuelled d-beat while still retaining the raw punk that made the sound on their Blodets Bånd debut so potent, the songs showing an even more destructive and elevated approach to their songwriting. Recorded live, produced and mixed at Ballade Studios by Lasse Ballade, who also produced and mixed Blodets Bånd, the Sort Sind LP was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Southern Lord will issue Halshug's Sort Sind on CD, LP, and digital platforms today. Following their recent performances at Roskilde Festival and more throughout Denmark, followed most recently by their first US shows with a brief East Coast tour in August, further live actions from Halshug are impending, including a record release show on October 7th and more. There's a sense of physical power and bodily impact in the way the music hits the ears. It's supercharged with energy - and yes, it is indeed a violent kind of energy, with an almost anthemic aura." - No Clean Singing https://www.facebook.com/halshugcph http://www.southernlord.com http://www.facebook.com/SLadmin

The groundbreaking rock band SIAMESE first stepped up to make a mark with their alternative, huge sound during 2012 with the release of their second album “Breathe:See:Move”, gathering positive reviews from around the world, including being lauded by Denmark’s biggest music magazine, GAFFA, as the country’s best rock album of the year. Three years later, after playing 150 concerts in ten different countries, hitting the Danish album charts at #6, and releasing the second album in both Japan and Europe, the band are in the process of creating what promises to be their best album to date. The first single ABLAZE hit stores in march and has already gained huge momentum with 1 million streams on all digital platforms. The second single Avaritia is a dark and twisted single working around the concept of greed. The award-winning and chart-topping Danish outfit SIAMESE have just inked a deal with UK based Daily Dischord Agency handling booking, whilst Tone MGMT (also UK) will deal with management in the EU. SIAMESE aren’t afraid to deal with the darker sides of life. With three successful albums in the bag, the band’s latest album will indulge in a new conceptual journey. In a world that is getting more and more transparent by the day, bigotry, racism and the ugly side of humanity in general rises to the fore. SIAMESE’s next album release, titled ‘SAGILIA’, strives to remind the listener of just how important the virtues of respect, dignity and perseverance are in current times. The band will go on tour in the UK in October alongside the emphatic FOES. https://www.facebook.com/sififi Hard Rock/Metal band Darkh have released their Official Music Video for the first single off of their upcoming debut album A Story Yet Untold, due out September 29th. It was pretty obvious before "Bury Our Bones" was even finished that it would be the first single off the album. Individuals whose interests and lifestyles are different from the vast majority will understand, because B.O.B underlines how powerful and encouraging it is to be among people who get it. - DARKH! Halshug’s second studio full-length, "Sort Sind" delivers ten ripping new tracks, each a reflection on fragments of the human experience expressed in the form of hardcore punk, the album’s title translating to ‘Black Mind.’ A bruising record, Sort Sind revs up motorcycle-fuelled d-beat akin to Austin-based Impalers and other contemporaries, and retains the grating raw punk that made their "Blodets Bånd" debut so potent, the songs showing an even more destructive and elevated approach to their songwriting. Recorded live, produced and mixed at Ballade Studios in Copenhagen by Lasse Ballade, who also produced and mixed "Blodets Bånd", the "Sort Sind" LP was mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. "Sort Sind" is based on the band’s experiences growing up in neglected parts of Denmark in the last twenty years, and their intention is to make great ripping hardcore punk music that people can get off too; to contribute to their scene and get listeners moving with their energy. Catch a bit of live Halshug footage, and stream their Southern Lord debut, "Blodets Bånd", via Bandcamp. Southern Lord will release Halshug’s "Sort Sind" on CD, LP, and digital platforms in Autumn, with a confirmed street date, as well as the cover art, track listing, audio samples, and much more from the album to be presented over the coming months. In the meantime, Halshug are gearing up to perform at Denmark’s mammoth Roskilde Festival this weekend, preceded by a set at K-Town Festival and other performances, and are now booking new live shows advancing the release of the Sort Sind LP. The band will play in their home-town of Copenhagen supporting Los Crudos in July, and will make their maiden trek to the US late this Summer for an East Coast tour. Stand by for new live dates to be announced shortly. 7/16/2016 Ungdomshuset – Copenhagen, DK w/ Los Crudos www.facebook.com/halshugcph halshug.blogspot.co.uk halshug.bandcamp.com www.southernlord.com On April 25th at 8pm, Lighthouse X will deliver a special and intimate show. It will be live-streamed online, making it possible for everyone to attend the show in the comfort of their own home – completely free. During the show, the audience can ask the Danish representatives of the Eurovision Song Contest questions, which they will answer live. In May, Stockholm will host the Eurovision Song Contest, and the Danish representatives are called Søren Bregendal, Johannes Nymark and Martin Skriver – also known as Lighthouse X. They are representing Denmark with their uplifiting pop hit, "Soldiers of Love". Before Lighthouse X travel to Sweden and participate in the grand show, they are inviting everyone to join them for a quite different performance – an intimate concert. And it will not be the regular kind of intimate show, as it will be live-streamed, allowing everyone to attend the concert in the comfort of their own home – completely free. An interactive experience for the audience The show takes place on April 25th at 8pm, and fans of the band can look forward to experiencing the band play their most popular songs in the very special setting. The concert can be experienced through this link here – please note that registration is required to gain access. It will also be an interactive experience for the audience, as they can ask Søren, Johannes and Martin questions during the show, which they will answer lively. The Lighthouse X members will also share both fun and moving stories. Back to basics before the trip to Stockholm “We are really looking forward to trying out this format, as it is both very intimate and far-reaching all at once,” Søren Bregendal explains and continues: “It will be an exciting and challenging contrast to the big Eurovision performance, which we are also busy preparing for. It will be a back to basics performance, and I think that’s healthy for us. And regardless of the format, our mission always stays the same – to make a positive change through music, because we have an honest belief that music can unite people in a way that no other ways of communication can.” |
