‘SOLID GOLD’ - BRAND NEW SINGLE OUT NOW
WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

PINEWOOD SMILE - RELEASED OCTOBER 6th THROUGH COOKING VINYL
BRAND NEW ALBUM

The Darkness have released their expletive-drenched new single ‘Solid Gold’ via Cooking Vinyl, accompanied by a video of the self-proclaimed rock legends performing in a huge aircraft hanger amongst a mass of glam-rock lighting and Marshall speaker stacks.

Frontman Justin Hawkins announces, “We have written this song to reassure you all that having now released more music in the period after our well publicised hiatus than in the period before it, we have no intention whatsoever of stopping. Hence the lyric "We're never gonna stop... Shitting out solid gold". Barring any unforeseen circumstances, The Darkness will always be here to delight and beguile. You're welcome.”

An absolute monster of a rock song, ‘Solid Gold’ takes no prisoners whatsoever, taking direct aim at the music industry and addressing record companies, egos and the insincerity that comes with it. It will make uncomfortable listening for A&R men everywhere…

“There's a guy coming down from Sony / Artist and Repertoire
If he likes what he hears in those stupid ears / I can buy myself a faster car
Blowing smoke up our arses / Everything we do is ace
He wants to wine and dine us / He's desperate to sign us
Cos we melted his fucking face”

Well, you don’t get that from Ed Sheeran!

‘Solid Gold’ is the latest single to be taken from The Darkness’ forthcoming album Pinewood Smile, out October 6th through Cooking Vinyl.

It follows the release of the glorious, hard-rockin’, autobiographical lead single ‘All The Pretty Girls’. Both singles are available on all streaming platforms and also available for download with pre-orders of the album for the instant gratification of fans. Click here for details: https://TheDarkness.lnk.to/PS

Pinewood Smile finds The Darkness on electrifying form, delivering some of the most sharp-witted, infectious, humorous and downright brilliant songs of their career. The album is also the first to feature the drumming and vocal talents of new band member Rufus Tiger Taylor, son of Queen legend Roger Taylor, who shares vocal duties with Justin on two of the tracks.

To celebrate the release of Pinewood Smile, The Darkness will be touring extensively at the end of this year playing 17 dates in the UK throughout November and December including a headline show at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo on December 10th. The shows are part of a wider European tour, full dates can be found at http://www.thedarknesslive.com/tour-dates/

England's Mallory Knox reveals new single 'Sugar' with music video

Mallory Knox are back with a brand new single ‘Sugar’ to fuel your summer. Full to the brim with the band’s signature driving hooks and the epitome of a sing-along chorus, ‘Sugar’’s themes are in fact quite bleak. Bassist and songwriter Sam Douglas explains that it’s a song “about feeling completely isolated and alone in a world where it feels like everyone has someone to lean on except you. You’re driven to a point of desperation, which makes you feel that having someone for a very short period of time (i.e.. a one night stand) is better than having no one at all.”

The track heralds the band’s forthcoming performances at Reading & Leeds Festivals at the end of this month. Mallory Knox will solidify their status as a main stage force to be reckoned with, playing alongside a main stage line-up that includes Jimmy Eat World, Bastille and Kasabian at Reading on Friday 25th Aug and Leeds on Saturday 26th Aug.

Mallory Knox released their latest album ‘Wired’ mere months ago and it broke into the Top 20 of the UK Album Charts, as did its predecessor ‘Asymmetry’. ‘Wired’, is amongst the most hard-hitting, melodically euphoric, outspoken and open-hearted albums in modern rock and ‘Sugar’ sees the band soar yet further.

Today sees Jamiroquai release the Charlie Lightening-directed video for their infectious new single "Superfresh," the second official single from eighth studio album 'Automaton'.

You can watch itHERE

Written and self-produced by frontman Jay Kay and Jamiroquai keyboard-maestro Matt Johnson, the disco-drenched summer anthem marks the band's first single since the album landed at #No.1 on iTunes in 38 countries across the world and top three in 5 earlier this year. Inspired by the visual themes behind Automaton and how we as humans interact with the rise of artificial intelligence and technology in our world today, 'Superfresh' perfectly marries electronic music with bass-heavy classic soul to create the English outfit's groundbreaking sound.

It's been an incredible return for the band since the release of 'Automaton', their first record in over nine years, on March 31st. In addition to the album's incredible chart success, the band have sold out their first live dates in over seven years within thirty seconds, have trended globally on each announcement and received massive support at UK radio, including #26 on airplay charts and are #1 on iTunes Pre-Orders.

The votes are in, and the multi-award winning girl group, Little Mix, have been crowned the winners! Little Mix will take the Best Live Act Award, sponsored by Ticketmaster and Live Nation, at today’s O2 Silver Clef Awards.

The only award voted for by the public at the O2 Silver Clef Awards, ‘Mixers’ proved their dedication to give the band the title of Best Live Act, fighting off fierce competition from the likes of Beyoncé, Coldplay, Stormzy and Take That. The group received over 50% of the total vote, making the girls clear champions, who will now sit alongside previous winners such as One Direction (2016 & 2013), Arctic Monkeys (2015), and Sir Paul McCartney (2011).

On their win, Little Mix said: “We can’t thank our fans enough for awarding us with the Best Live Act! To win in such company as these nominees, and be the first female act to take home the award is an incredibly proud moment for us. We have so much respect for Nordoff Robbins and the work that they do, it is such a wonderful charity. We really are so honoured to receive this award at the O2 Silver Clefs today.”

The Best Live Act winners are currently on their arena tour, which will see them play 60 shows across Europe, Australia and Asia, selling over 500k tickets. They are now chart-topping, with four UK number one singles, and have over one billion YouTube and Vevo views worldwide. The band received the Best British Single honour at the Brit Awards this year. Their debut album DNA, reached the top ten in ten countries, smashing a record the Spice Girls held for almost two decades.

Andrew Parsons, MD Ticketmaster UK says, “Ticket selling phenomenon Little Mix made history by becoming the first and only group to win the X Factor, and thanks to their loyal fans, they are now the first female act to win the Best Live Act award. It was great to see the band make the shortlist for the second year in a row, and winning the award is thoroughly deserved.”

Fans voted for the shortlist of ten artists, who performed in the UK between March 2016 and March 2017, handpicked by a panel of music industry experts. The nominated artists were:

Beyoncé
Bruce Springsteen
Christine and The Queens
Coldplay
Iron Maiden
Little Mix
Melanie Martinez
Shawn Mendes

Fans who voted either via the Ticketmaster website or with the relevant hashtag on Twitter, were automatically entered to win a unique portrait of their favourite live act. The lucky fan will receive the attached painting by Instagram artist Will Thompson.

Little Mix have thanked fans via a video posted here: http://bit.ly/2tnr435

The Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards will be held tomorrow, Friday, 30th June.
