Shura has announced details of her much-anticipated debut album, ‘Nothing’s Real’, which will be released on Polydor Records on July 8th. The album is available to pre-order today, with ‘The Space Tapes’ (a psychedelic rework of some of the record’s highlights, laid down straight to tape) among the tracks available instantly.
Having surpassed 30 million plays and become one of the most enduring blog successes of recent years, new single ‘Touch’ has also been made Track of the Day at Radio 1 from today. After teaming up with the legendary Talib Kweli on an alternative version, a brand new Four Tet remix of ‘Touch’ is additionally available to stream now. Shura will open for Chvrches around Europe later this month before playing a headline show at KOKO on the 1st June 2016: further headline dates and festival appearances will follow (with the likes of Primavera, End of the Road, Parklife and a main slot at Great Escape already announced).
In many ways ‘Nothing's Real’ is the perfect title for Shura's debut album, which mixes the personal and the fantastical to beguiling, immersive effect. It features songs written and painstakingly recorded across two years in her Shepherds Bush bedroom - the site of which is blown up on the album’s striking artwork – but also reaches back further than that: into parents, childhood, past relationships and the possibilities of the future. All threaded together across the album’s often-affecting narrative, the record assimilates everything Shura loves – from early Madonna to Sci-fi, and War on Drugs to gaming – but is also the sound of an artist pushing themselves hard, further into the unknown. A phrase coined after a breakup, ‘Nothing’s Real’ confirms Shura as an important artist for the years ahead. Welcome – as the record was almost called – to her Shuniverse.

The long-awaited return of New York's finest, the fifteen-time Grammy® Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer, Alicia has arrived, who is back with the release of a brand new single 'In Common' which is available now across all digital platforms.
"In Common" - watch/listen to it on Vevo here
The single is Alicia's first release in four years, taken from her forthcoming sixth studio album, due out later this summer on RCA Records. Written by Alicia, Illangelo, Tayla Parks, Billy Walsh and produced by Illangelo, the long-time Grammy-Award winning producer of The Weeknd, "In Common" is destined to become 2016's biggest summer jam, seducing us with its infectious baseline and Latin inspired rhythm, which will ignite airwaves and dance floors across the globe.
Alicia commenting on what inspired In Common states, "We all have our issues, our challenges," she explains. "We are all kind of messed up and that's all right. In fact, that's what helps us understand each other. To me, that's is what is so beautiful."
Alicia's upcoming new album reflects her roots in NYC and hip-hop culture while blending her perspective of the raw humanity of the world and who she is today as an activist, woman and artist.
Alicia will perform the song for the first time on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" this upcoming Saturday, 7 May. In addition, she will make history with this track on May 28 in Milan, when she will be the first ever musician to open the UEFA Champions League Final - an event watched by hundreds of millions of people around the world.
UEFA and Pepsi® are excited to announce that for the first time ever, the UEFA Champions League Final will feature a global live music headline performance as part of the opening ceremony pageantry. Taking place on May 28th at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan, Italy, the "UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony presented by Pepsi" will feature Alicia Keys as the inaugural artist to usher in a new live entertainment era for the UEFA Champions League Final.
Airing in more than 220 countries, the UEFA Champions League Final is the most watched annual sporting event in the world.
"I'm extremely excited to share my new music at the UEFA Champions League Final, an event that is celebrated in every corner of the world," said Alicia Keys. "This is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are. I'm honoured to be a special part of such a beloved experience."
This year's "UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony presented by Pepsi" will merge the worlds of world-class music, entertainment and sports, as well as celebrate design and fashion as a nod to the host city, Milan.
"Music, entertainment and sports have always been a vital part of the Pepsi DNA. We are the brand that invented entertainment marketing and continue to push creative boundaries," said Carla Hassan, SVP, Global Brand Management, Global Beverage Group, PepsiCo. "By creating a global stage as part of the UEFA Champions League Final for the first time, Pepsi will produce an epic, memorable moment that will draw an even broader global fan base to the pitch, elevate the excitement of the 2016 final, and establish a new tradition for one of the world's most beloved sport spectacles."
The revived opening ceremony marks an expansion of PepsiCo's existing partnership with the UEFA Champions League, bringing one of the world's most passionate musicians to a massive global audience and further heightens the excitement and grandeur of the world's most watched annual sporting event. PepsiCo initially joined forces with the UEFA Champions League in 2015, announcing a partnership with the prestigious European club football tournament where Lay's, Gatorade and Pepsi MAX / Pepsi serve as lead brands for the competition.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA Marketing Director, commented, "With an iconic and storied history in music, Pepsi was the ideal partner to bring an epic music performance to the world's most watched annual sporting event for the first time, and UEFA is delighted that Alicia Keys will be performing in Milan. The UEFA Champions League Final is the ultimate stage in European football, bringing together the two best teams on the continent. With such a highly respected and truly global artist performing ahead of the UEFA Champions League Final, it heightens even further the appeal of the match and consequently will reach a broader audience demographic, which ultimately further strengthens the global status of UCL."
In addition to the "UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony presented by Pepsi" performance, Keys – who recently joined Season 11 of NBC's hit show The Voice in the United States and will release her 8th album this year – will be featured in a variety of integrated campaign elements leading up to the performance.

As part of their Nothing Greater Than Love campaign to lend their voices for those who are making a positive difference to the world, Sister Sledge perform We Are Family
The iconic all female music group Sister Sledge recently supported the Blue Star Families, a group of military spouses who provide free resources, services, and opportunities to family members of military personnel, with a special performance of We Are Family at the Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC. The unique event honoured the exceptional Americans who have gone above and beyond to help military families as well as the brave service men and women.
The special visit was part of Sister Sledge’s Nothing Is Greater Than Love brand and is intended to show support for those who go beyond their remit to help others.
The Blue Star Families began in 2009, when a group of military spouses joined together to make a difference to the lives of military families. They realised the struggle and issues that the families dealt with on a daily basis and saw a need to create a platform for military families to join forces with the general public to help and address the challenges of military life. Blue Star Families now has 150,000 members and over 35 communities and chapters around the world. Their programs and services reach more than 1.5 million military families every year.
At the event, Joy Roulette won the 2016 Blue Star Neighbour Award, for setting up a network of people to deliver weekly meals and supportive notes for her and her children while her husband, Air Force Master Sargent MSGT Chris Cekovsky, was deployed. This story resonates with the message Sister Sledge embody in the soon to be released track, ‘WAMOW’ (Women Are Music Of the World), whereby women are encouraged to embrace their intelligence, beauty and show their love for others.
Speaking about the event, Sister Sledge said: "It was an absolute honour to be a part of such a rewarding experience. It's given us a new found respect for the men and women of the military, who risk their lives so that we may freely live ours.
All of these people are working together to support one another to make a global difference and this is exactly the message we would like to be a part of and demonstrate through our brand Nothing Is Greater Than Love and with our music."
WAMOW releases on 29th May 2016.
