Living Colour is wrapping up work on their fifth album, Shade. In a recent interview with Loudwire, singer Corey Glover said of the new album, “As time progresses, a shadow falls and it’s about the progression of time. We’re trying to dissect and really take the roots of the music that created us and take it to task.” Andre Betts, who worked with has previously worked with the band, returned to produce a few tracks on the new offering. Reid, in a feature for Guitar World, explained the album is influenced by Reid’s interest in how “the blues, hard rock and metal are connected. We’re not going to do a blues-rock record but the blues is very integral and important. So that conversation has been the underpinning of what we’ve been doing.” Living Colour is Will Calhoun (drums), Corey Glover (vocals), Vernon Reid (guitar) and Doug Wimbish (bass). www.facebook.com/livingcolour www.twitter.com/livingcolour www.livingcolour.com

Living On The Run https://www.facebook.com/heatsweden Sweden's female-fronted rockers Nubian Rose are set to release their new album "Mental Revolution" on 24th November via Cargo Records. The album was produced by Christer Åkerlund, engineered by Jakob Herrmann, mixed by Tobias Lindell (HEAT, Europe, Hardcore Superstar, Avatar, Mustasch), recorded at Top Floor Studios & Bohus Sound and mastered by Mats "Limpa" Lindfors (Crashdïet, Scorpions, Dan Reed, Treat) at Cutting Room. Regarding the album, the production is more edgy and bigger in every way; drums and guitars are dominating together with great melodies. Christer and Sofia’s cooperation as a songwriting duo has deepened and matured. It’s obvious that the roots of Nubian Rose's music is coming from the same place as before, but with 'Mental Revolution' they have clearly been taking a big step forward. NUBIAN ROSE are: Sofia Lilja - Vocals Christer Åkerlund - Lead Guitars Henric Uhrbom - Bass Tomas Weijnesjö - Drums Torbjörn Weijnesjö - Rhythm Guitar Additional musicians: Joakim Ahlund - Keyboards Mats Levén - Backing Vocals Katarina kammarkör - Choir www.nubianrose.com www.facebook.com/NubianRoseTheBand "The Tallest Peak" is an experiment in poly-rhythms, with two loops phasing in 5/8 against 3/4 over a steady pulse, the whole song is essentially phased variations of the same key idea, it develops steadily towards the end for one final refrain. Having been completed in the shortest timescale to-date (around 4 days in total), and only 3 days before release; "The Tallest Peak" is a re-visit to some more melancholy themes presented in May's "Porcelain". Lyrically it spans vocalist, Jon Sinfield's continued grieving process, coupled with the effects of holding down shift work while pushing towards an application to become a teacher this coming year. Stream & Purchase the new single, The Tallest Peak here: Or listen to it below! Guitarist, Tom Ridley says: “Since the album format was conceived, the way in which music is made, sold and consumed has completely changed. Businesses battle to stay in the public eye, but bands are committed to the peaks and troughs of awareness that come with the album cycle. The other problem with that system, is by the time the music is heard, it’s already out of date. By releasing music every month, we’re as relevant as we possibly can be – our audience is listening to what inspired us just a couple of weeks ago. That’s a really cool position to be in.” http://chrngrphs.com/ http://store.chrngrphs.com/ https://www.facebook.com/chronographs With the release of their long-time-coming second LP, "Wild", out now via Solar Flare Records, and as their European tour in support of the album underway, French noise rock detachment Pord now let loose the entire album with an exclusive featured stream at US music webzine, Scene Point Blank. From the sprawling backwoods and farmlands of rural Lozère, Pord displays a caustic but cohesive style of noise rock output on "Wild", the album showing a renewed musical evolution since earlier recordings, and the band's raging delivery here hinting at straight rock and roll on a number of songs. With a faster pace and precise execution, their taut and aggressive delivery remains intact throughout the nearly forty-minute venture, which was recorded at Rec Studio in Geneva with Serge Morattel (Knut, Tantrum, Ventura). American Doom / Rock outlet The Obelisk praised "Wild", issuing, "Not short on atmosphere but sacrificing nothing in terms of efficiency in their pummel, Pord unveil a vicious strain of noise that's anchored by deep low end and positioned sonically for righteous defiance." American Aftermath hooked the album up as, "40 minutes of intense, noise laden rock and roll that would make Amphetamine Reptile blush... dirty, rumbling bass lines and sparse, dissonant guitars that eventually lead into a hard rock stampede hellbent on causing blunt-force trauma." Last Rites webzine comes in heavy: "This French trio has been making blistering, grinding noise rock for a dozen years... Their longevity leads to a tightness only achievable through hundreds and hundreds of hours of playing; the jumps are sharp as knives, cutting time signatures and musical motifs like the deftest of surgeons... Wild is a dirty album in all the ways that make noise rock such a visceral and inviting listen." For all of September, Scene Point Blank is featuring an exclusive stream of "Wild" on their front page HERE and RIGHT HERE. With the first gig having taken place at Freakshow Festival this weekend past, the bulk of Pord's Wild European Tour kicks off late next week, running from September 12th straight through October 11th, with two final shows confirmed at the end of October / beginning of November.
