Calling the track a “twisted love song,” lead singer Rena Lovelis says that “Break My Heart” was inspired by over-romanticizing the painful part of a break-up. “It’s about how, in a relationship, you go through these phases — the first date, the first kiss, the honeymoon — and then after you’ve experienced all the amazing parts of that love, you want to go to the dark side. You want this person to break your heart so you can feel what it’s like to long for them and to feel so desperate that you’ll do anything to get them back. So it’s kind of masochistic!” Hey Violet will perform “Guys My Age” on US TV show, Late Night With Seth Meyers on March 21st. They are currently working on their debut album, which will be out later this year via Virgin EMI. In the meantime, the band which is Rena, her sister Nia Lovelis (drums), Miranda Miller (keys, vocals), Casey Moreta (lead guitar) and Iain Shipp (bass) are currently on a sold out US tour. UK fan will get the chance to see the band live this spring, dates below; UK TOUR DATES IN MAY 8TH – LONDON, THE GARAGE 9TH – GLASGOW, O2 ABC 2 10TH – MANCHESTER, SOUND CONTROL “Break My Heart” is the follow-up to Hey Violet’s smash single “Guys My Age”, which was named one of the Best Songs of 2016 by The New York Times and one of the 20 Best Songs of 2016 by V Magazine. The video for the single also racked up over 10 million views. The band are currently featured on the March cover of Alternative Press. Hey Violet’s current EP Brand New Moves, debuted as the #1 artist album on iTunes in the U.S. and U.K. The Los Angeles Times compared their move “from grimy punk to shiny pop” to the Go-Go’s, while Galore declares front woman Rena Lovelis, “emits an unheard of level of rock-stardom for such a small girl without even singing a single note. But when she does sing, it’s as if Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani, and Hayley Williams crashed into each other and made a whole new generation of rock star.” Website / Facebook / Instagram / Twitter http://heyviolet.lnk.to/BreakMyHeart

Frantic and explosive, the new music video for lead single and album opener ‘La Di Da’ erupts into a snake-infested frenzy in seconds. “I wanted the video for ‘La Di Da’ to be a representation of my subconscious”, frontwoman Janie Shilstone says. “Almost like watching what a satanic, schizophrenic nightmare would look like.” “At first I was terrified and when David, the owner, turned up with this see-through box. I totally froze when I saw her, though David assured me that she'd never bit or tried to strangle anyone before! Her name was Honey, a 6ft Boa Constrictor, and after 20 mins of stroking her I finally plucked up the courage to hold her. I completely fell in love. She slithered down my left arm and rested her head on my hand, it was so therapeutic. There was one shot where I lay down and got her to slither along my body and she beautifully went behind my ear and then up towards the camera.” Watch ‘La Di Da’ on YouTube - https://youtu.be/lXPM8nXR3Z8 Partly inspired by the Joker and Harley Quinn (from Batman) relationship Janine was obsessed with as a comic book loving teen, “the song portrays an abusive relationship unbeknown to the victim,” says the singer. “There are a lot of emotions throughout the song. There’s vulnerability, and there’s resistance. It took time to come together, and it had to live on the back burner for a while. But one night I gave in to the niggling that kept demanding I go back to it. I remember the moment it came together; me and Hamish (Reilly, guitars) in my flat drinking pretentious cocktails, laptop, tiny amp, guitar…” Incessantly giddy, intoxicatingly catchy; the end result more than rewards the toil. Vukovi’s self-titled debut album is the definitive snapshot of their Technicolor wonder to date. They demand your attention. Produced by longtime collaborator Bruce Rintoul – “nobody pushes me quite like Bruce” says Janine – its twelve songs take in themes of individuality, drug abuse, depression and suicide. “The record might sound quirky,” says Janine. “But there are many darker notes in there…” Tracks like ‘Prey’ see Shilstone digging deep into personal experience (“it’s about a time in my life where I thought I’d met my knight in shining armor – but he fucked me up even more) and the sublime ‘I’m Wired’, Janine’s favourite song on the record (“I wrote it trying to describe being in a relationship with severe depression and trying to express that you need that person even though you don’t show it most of the time”). There’s introspection here, yes. There’s beauty, sure. But there are songs like ‘And He Lost His Mind’ too, which is as fun as rock music has ever allowed itself to be. A big, bouncy, neon daubed earworm that bores itself into your brain and gobbles up on your serotonin. Then there’s ‘Boy George’, a former single with a guitar sliced through it like a chainsaw through a piñata. And, if you’re going to call a song ‘Bouncy Castle’, chances are that it’s not going to be an acoustic weepy. Vukovi truly excel here, coming on like Paramore span around and around and around until they’re very dizzy and just about ready to hurl up something… wonderful. March 10 Glasgow, King Tut’s 11 Leeds, Key Club 13 Manchester, Sound Control 14 Bristol, The Louisiana 16 London, Boston Music Room 18 Nottingham, Rock City Basement 19 Aberdeen, Tunnels Multi-talented, award-winning artist, actress and activist Kate Nash has released a brand new track and official video titled “My Little Alien.” Shot in the Californian desert and staring her very own pet pooch Stella, “My Little Alien” is a loving tribute to her rescued “fur-baby” and as the holiday season approaches, comes with a friendly reminder to “adopt not shop” when it comes to rescuing a four legged friend. "My Little Alien" was written after a trip to Rachel, Nevada, where I saw a UFO for the first time.” Explains Nash. “I took my rescue pup on the trip and I realized she is my best friend and although I have never met an alien she is like my little alien in a way. When I rescued her from a man in a coffee shop who wanted 20 bucks to get off drugs, she saved me at a time when I needed it most. Sometimes it feels like we're both from another planet. This song is about loving the strange.” On the video, directed by Tyler Monsein, Nash continues. “We wanted to recreate the feeling of being the nomads that we are. Neither of us quite fit into the boxes we should but when we are together it makes sense. So we got back on the road in a vintage Chinook and drove to Area 51!'” Watch the official video for “My Little Alien” here and listen to the track on iTunes and Spotify from today. In other news, Kate Nash has been confirmed to play Rhonda is the upcoming Netflix Original series “G.L.O.W.” Produced by award winning Jenji Kohan (Weeds, Orange is the new Black), “G.L.O.W” (aka Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) was created by Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange Is The New Black) and is a 10-episode comedy inspired by the real story of the 1980's female wrestling league.
