Hamburg-based Sludge & Stoner Metal band High Fighter, who just recently announced to return to the UK this summer with support from special guests Tuskar and My Diablo, have added a bunch of new dates around their UK summer run! Beside gigs at Bolton's Riff Fest and more UK cities, High Fighter added some upcoming shows in France as well as Luxembourg.

It's been three years since the band toured the United Kingdom while on their first European tour ever back in early 2015. This August, High Fighter will bring their latest record 'Scars & Crosses' as well as some brand new material live on stage. It will be one of the last tours High Fighter are going to play this year and before they will release their second full length album in early 2019. If you're looking for a highly polished band then look elsewhere as High Fighter play mean and dirty Blues, Stoner, Doom & Sludgy riffs to fuel your appetite with, make sure to catch them live on the following dates this year:

Born in the summer of 2014 by former band members of A Million Miles, Buffalo Hump and Pyogenesis, this band is a volatile cocktail of heavy as hell riffs! Add a heavy dose of the blues and these deadly schizophrenic vocals and High Fighter offer something new to the Sludge, Stoner, Doom & Metal Scene. After their critically acclaimed debut EP 'The Goat Ritual' released end of 2014, followed by numerous shows all over Europe, including festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, Desertfest Berlin & Antwerp, Sonic Blast, Up In Smoke and many more, as well as several gigs with bands alike Ahab, Conan, Crowbar, Mantar, Corrosion of Conformity, Elder, Downfall of Gaia, Mammoth Storm, Brant Bjork, The Midnight Ghost Train and Earth Ship to name just a few, High Fighter released their first full length album 'Scars & Crosses' in June 2016 with Svart Records. The band's second studio album will see the light of day in early 2019.

High Fighter are:

Mona Miluski – Vocals
Christian Pappas – Guitar
Ingwer Boysen – Guitar
Constantin Wüst – Bass
Thomas Wildelau – Drums / Backing Vocals

The mysterious Portuguese blackened death metal sect The Ominous Circle will embark on their maiden raid of America, with a run of Eastern US tour dates beginning tomorrow, July 24th. The tour sees them joined by 20 Buck Spin labelmates Scorched and includes their performance at Migration Fest this weekend.

The Ominous Circle is a burning black sphere of sinuous torment taking shape over their native land. Appalling Ascension, their initiation into this upper physical world, was released in early 2017 through 20 Buck Spin. While the reverent tropes of nowadays death metal will be recognizable to the band's adherents, the cauldron is mixed in myriad conjurations that stray from the retreating safety inferior forces are prone to linger in, with moments of oppressive death doom, grinding blasts of mania, rancid melodies and mid-tempo dynamic necromancy throughout. The late obsession of some to ignore songwriting in favour of cavernous ambient suffocating "evil" doesn't play on Appalling Ascension - here instead, and most welcome, are crushing and barbarous dark death metal songs for initiates to devote themselves to, and to enter the pantheon of most memorable debut recordings.

Poison Fumes Over North America MMXVIII will see the shrouded members of The Ominous Circl storming the East Coast from July 24th through July 31st. With support from Scorched, the tour will hit Brooklyn, Providence, Worcester, and Montclair on their way to perform at Migration Fest 2018 where they'll share the stage with Khemmis, Krallice, Pelican, Panopticon, Mournful Congregation, Bongripper, Zombi, The Cancer Conspiracy, Deadbird, Spirit Adrift, Thou, Yellow Eyes, and more. Following the fest, the tour will continue through Philadelphia and Washington, and end in Richmond.

See The Ominous Circle's "As The Worm Descends" RIGHT HERE and stream the entire Appalling Ascension album HERE.

THE OMINOUS CIRCLE - Poison Fumes Over North America MMXVIII w/ Scorched:

Just one month to go to Bloodstock 2018; final bands announced

11/7/2018

Picture

With just a month to go, Bloodstock has chosen the last of its New Blood bands, added some more to the Jagermeister stage, revamped entertainment both after hours on the Sophie Lancaster & New Blood stages and in VIP too, bought a Hawaiian shirt ready for Cannibal Corpse, and is still working on a few final tricks!

A limited amount of adult day tickets remain available priced £65 (+ booking fee) and child day tickets at £20 (+ bkg fee) over at http://bloodstock.seetickets.com. You can still also pick up four-day ‘weekend tickets with camping’ for £145 (+ bkg fee), with children’s weekend tickets only £35 (+ bkg fee). Kids under 4 years go free! Weekend tickets are selling faster than ever and just like last year, are looking likely to sell out in advance, so don’t delay if you want to guarantee entry to the UK’s best metal weekender!

Without further ado, here’s the final batch of results from Bloodstock’s top talent-seeking Metal 2 The Masses finals!

  • Added to the New Blood stage on Friday, are Northants victors Garshkott (www.facebook.com/Garshkott), a five piece groove/speed metal band who love Pantera, Lamb of God, KsE, and a bit of Parkway Drive.

  • Joining them are Lincs winners Sertraline (www.facebook.com/WeAreSertraline), who are all about crunchy riffs, colossal grooves and huge on-stage energy.

  • Death metal Bristol champions Body Harvest (www.facebook.com/BodyHarvest.Official).
  • And finally for Friday’s New Blood, Birmingham’s top dogs Trivax (www.facebook.com/trivaxband) join the bill, an interesting black/death metal project originally formed in Iran, before frontman Shayan moved to Birmingham and updated the line-up in pursuit of non-restrictive live shows and the metal lifestyle we all love.

Bloodstock was so impressed by the range of talent across this year’s competition, we can reveal two additional bands landing spots on Saturday’s New Blood line-up - grinding hardcore crusters The Brood (www.facebook.com/TheBroodUK) and progressive death metallers Luna’s Call (www.facebook.com/LunasCall). We’re also pleased to welcome Hobgoblin’s video upload contest winners, Earthbound (www.facebook.com/EarthboundMusicUK), a blend of melodic death riffs with big choruses and some progressive elements!

Two more bands join the New Blood family on Sunday. Smashing first place in the Oxford final, Imminent Annihilation (www.facebook.com/ImminentAnnihilation) promise to bring some face-melting riffs of the heavy and metal kind.  Last but certainly not least, kings of London’s competition Dead Before Mourning (www.facebook.com/metalDBM) might just be your new favourite thing, if you’re a fan of Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, or Exodus.

There’s also more treats in store over on the Jagermeister stage! Here’s five more bands to tempt you into an ice cold shot. Friday brings thrash beasts DAMAGED REICH (www.facebook.com/damaged.reich), down-tuned stoner/thrash sludgers CALLUS (www.facebook.com/Callus.band), and metal lovin’ headbangers UNTAMED (www.facebook.com/Untamedrock).  Breaking heads & ears on Saturday are death metallers CRANIAL SEPARATION (www.facebook.com/CranialSeparation).  Sunday welcomes Nottingham lads DEF GOLDBLUM (www.facebook.com/defgoldblum); three skinheads and one MC on a mission to save the soul of rap metal.

BLOODSTOCK also recently revealed their brand new entertainment plans for the Sophie Lancaster stage after the bands finish.  The big top tent will transition into ‘The Lock In’, a fully immersive club night presented by Old Blue Last Beer and hosted by comedian Andrew O’Neill.  Each night features a different DJ, celebrating a decade of metal! Thursday sees DJ Krusher unearthing tracks from the ‘70s, Friday rocks out to the ‘80s with The Dark Lord Alexander Milas, on Saturday, everyone’s favourite metal encyclopedia Dom Lawson brings you the best of the ‘90s, and Metal Hammer editor Merlin Alderslade rounds out Sunday’s fun with top tunes from the ‘00s.  Not only that, there’s world record attempts, games, prizes, a giant can sculpture(!) and plenty more. Nabbed yourself a VIP ticket? Head over to the BLOODSTOCK VIP Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BloodstockVIP to see full details of this year’s exclusive entertainment.  And if you want to have your say in which movies should be screened each night at the New Blood stage after the bands end, cast your vote at: https://www.facebook.com/events/215185702446013/.

If you missed out last month, BLOODSTOCK’s cranking up the fun with their remaining club nights for July!  Don’t miss a great night out at one of the clubs below for the chance to win weekend tickets, associated prizes, and hear blistering tracks from BLOODSTOCK bands, old and new.

Fri 13th July - Portsmouth Edge of the Wedge
Fri 13th July - London Electric Ballroom (Project Mayhem)

Fri 27th July - London Elektrowerkz (Voodoo Summer Ball Rodeo)
Sat 28th July - Dublin Fibber Magees

Got tips to share, want a camping buddy, or just to chat about bands?  Maybe you want to find out if you’re not the only one taking a Hawaiian shirt for Cannibal Corpse’s set (https://youtu.be/8dM_TN7I5m8)!!  Join these fan-run Facebook groups - Bloodstock Metal Forum 666 at www.facebook.com/groups/bmf666/ and/or the BLOODSTOCK Camp Loners & Newbies at www.facebook.com/groups/171715506329753/.

Making their first UK appearance are Dutch symphonic blackened death behemoths Pictura Poesis, making their appearance as the Friday night special guests!

Pictura Poesis was founded in the south of the Netherlands at the start of 2013. taking their inspiration from paintings and literature, the band succeeds in combining a broad spectrum of classical music with energetic blackened death metal. The band released their latest CD Miseriae Mundi on the 6th of May 2017 following their 2 earlier releases in 2013 and 2014.

Unfortunately, Bas decided to part ways with the band. In the second half of 2017 Pictura Poesis once again had to set out to find a new vocalist. Linda van Vugt soon appeared on the band's horizon, and proved to be a good addition to the band's sound. With Linda on vocals, Pictura Poesis are now set to reach further heights.

Bringing a proper Northern touch to the fifth edition of the UK’s leading Symphonic Metal event, Winter In Eden will be appearing as special guests. This marks their first appearance at the festival since they headlined the first edition in 2015.

Formed in 2009, Winter In Eden have become one of the most recognisable names in the UK’s symphonic metal scene. Their energetic live performances have been enjoyed by capacity crowds in the UK at events such as The Cambridge Rock Festival and various Femme Metal Festivals alongside the likes of Delain and Revamp. Most recently, Winter In Eden have taken their live show into mainland Europe, performing to increasing numbers in the Netherlands and Belgium, playing with acts such as Stream of Passion and Maiden uniteD.
