Puerto Rican Stoner / Prog Metallers Moths announce US tour

San Juan stoner/progressive metal act Moths embark on their first mainland United States performances this February with a string of shows on the East Coast.  Following the November 2018 release of their debut EP (s/t), the band is looking forward to bringing their music to new audiences.

Says bassist Weslie Negrón:-

"We're extremely excited to be able to perform in the U.S. Mainland for the first time. Since we got featured as Album of the Day in Bandcamp, we've had people from the areas that we're playing give us great reactions to the EP -- and we can't wait to show people what the Puerto Rican metal scene is all about.  There's a lot of talent in the Island, especially regarding metal, so we want to encourage people to keep digging on the bands that we got here."

Tour Dates

  • 2/7/19: Ralph's Rock Diner, Worcester, Massachusetts -- with Cazador, North Star the Wanderer, and Bone Church

  • 2/8/19: Century Bar, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- with Moons, The Stone Eye, and DipEater
  • 2/9/19: La Cabaña Restaurant, Washington, DC -- with SunLord, Sangre Inedita, Part Death, Visceral Violation, and Sky Raider

  • 2/10/19: The Kingsland, Brooklyn, New York -- with Lightmaker, False Gods, and Reign of Zaius

Moths is a stoner/progressive metal band from San Juan, Puerto Rico that blends powerful riffs with unexpected and increasingly progressive undertones. The band was founded in 2016 by Weslie Negrón (bass), Jonathan Miranda (lead guitar), and Omar González (rhythm guitar), with the later addition of Damaris Rodríguez (vocals) and Daniel Figueroa (drums). With influences ranging from Porcupine Tree to King Crimson, they have impressed their local metal scene with an uncommon style that's enjoyed by metalheads and non-metal fans alike. With Damaris’ aggressive but melodic vocals, Omar’s catchy riffs, Jonathan’s unorthodox leads, Weslie’s solid bass lines, and Daniel’s extreme drumming, Moths create a perfect balance of heavy and cohesive music that impacts audiences on a whole new level.

While the band was affected by Hurricane Maria, which devastated much of Puerto Rico in September 2017, they pushed through trying times to continue their craft. Their debut self-titled EP was released in November 2018 to international accolades, including being featured by bandcamp as an Album of the Day.

Orange Goblin announces details for their annual Christmas show!

28/9/2017

’Twas the Friday before Christmas, when all over the ’farm,
instead of turning in early, we raised the alarm,
A concert would be held, in ol’ Camden Town,
Dress in denim ‘n’ leather, no need for a gown,
But who was the host of this festive soirée?
Orange Goblin of course, for their annual partayyyy…!

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been naughty or nice this year, Orange Goblin invite you to their annual evening of stoner metal merriment at the Electric Ballroom in Camden Town, North London on Friday, December 22nd.

As is tradition, they’ll be bringing along some Evil Elves to help spread the festive cheer, and 2017’s Special Guests are none other than Karma To Burn, Black Moth & Riddles.

“It’s that time of year again, when we get to unleash a little bit of Heavy Metal festive cheer,” proclaims Orange Goblin front-man Ben Ward. “We are very excited to announce this year’s show, back at the trusted Electric Ballroom in Camden on Friday, December 22nd, and we have an amazing array of support bands to make this a very special Christmas show.

First up, there’s London’s own retro firecrackers, Riddles, who are sure to get things moving with their groove-laden mix of Sabbath and Hawkwind. Next up, there’s the awesome Black Moth, who are always devastating live and have just recorded what will surely be one of the albums of 2018. Then, as main support, we have a real treat for everyone with a very rare UK appearance from our old friends from West Virginia, the legendary Karma To Burn. Not forgetting ourselves, of course!

We’ve been very busy this year, playing festivals all over the world, and at the same time writing material for a new album, which will be recorded in January 2018. Who knows, we may even play a couple of brand new songs as an early Christmas present?? See you there, folks!”

Having survived the summer festivals, Orange Goblin round off the year with a handful of headline shows in Ireland, plus festival appearances in Greece, Switzerland, The Netherlands and the UK. November will see them return to the US for an exclusive one-off performance opening the main-stage at the biggest heavy metal festival in America: Ozzfest Meets Knotfest.

Tickets for the Orange Goblin Electric Ballroom event go on sale on Friday, September 29th at 10am.

London's indestructible masters of metal, Orange Goblin, are proud to be a part of the Spinefarm Records family following Spinefarm’s recent acquisition of Candlelight Records.

Not just the UK's reigning champions of balls-out, party-starting, booze-fuelled metal, but one of the very best live rock bands of recent times, the mighty Goblin have been a permanent and universally admired fixture on the British metal circuit (and beyond) for the past 20 years.

Moving forward, all new Orange Goblin recordings will be released via Spinefarm / Candlelight Records; OG can now take their place amongst metal heavyweights such as Venom, Electric Wizard, Airbourne,Ghost and Rammstein (to name but a few).

And this new relationship kicks off in considerable style, with Orange Goblin appearing as Special Guests to Monster Magnet on the latter’s one-off headline London show at The 02 Forum, Kentish Town; this event takes place on Saturday, March 19th.

Following this, the band can now reveal that they will be touring the UK in late September / early October, playing select shows in towns and cities that they did not visit on the 20th Anniversary Tour last December.

Full dates as follows

Fri 30 Sep – Reading, Sub 89
Sat 01 Oct – Sheffield, HRH Doom Vs Stoner Festival
Sun 02 Oct – Cardiff, The Globe
Mon 03 Oct – Southampton, Engine Rooms
Tue 04 Oct – Brighton, Concorde 2

Support on all headline dates comes from US psych rockers Electric Citizen and UK doom metal merchants Poseidon.

Tickets will be on sale from 10am on Monday 14th March 2016.
