In other great news, Bloodstock is very proud to announce it shattered last year’s fund raising total for official charity partner, The Teenage Cancer Trust. SOS Festival announces first nine bands‏

Following passage is an official announcement by the festival.

"SOS Festival is thrilled to announce the first 9 bands for our 2017 edition, the 10th in our history.

Headlining Friday we’re delighted to announce Kill II This. It’s great for us that another Manchester band has the kudos to headline, just as Absolva did us proud on our Friday in 2016. Kill II This blend extreme metal with elements of industrial electronica and even a little hip-hop. Terrorizer magazine summarized it well – ‘Their sound crosses clever industrial style sampling with fearsome guitar. Kill II This have created a beast which is threatening yet danceable’

We can also announce for the Friday line-up a return for A Joker’s Rage, from York, who were comfortably one of the absolute highlights of SOS 2016, and I Saw The World Burn, from the Midlands, will bring their brutal, riff-laden thrash groove when they open up the weekend.

Confirmation of Saturday headliners will have to wait until another day, but we’re excited to say the band that will fill the main ‘support’ slot is Screaming Eagles. This rock quartet from Northern Ireland have impressed during the past few years, not least with their song ‘Rock n Roll Soul’ which was featured in a hit US TV series ‘Justified’. Classic Rock magazine said this ‘Think AC/DC fronted by a Paul Rodgers-style vocalist’ which is a great steer on the style and quality of this band.

Also on Saturday we have symphonic metallers Pythia, based in the south of England, who were booked for 2016 but couldn’t make it due to horrendous traffic chaos. We’re delighted to say we’ve been able to re-book them for 2017. The other band that didn’t make it in 2016 due to serious illness to their drummer, is Crowsaw, from the South Wales border area, who are now confirmed for 2017, whilst for the first time from Sweden we welcome doom metalheads Core of Nation, long-standing friends of our management team.

Our Sunday headliners are confirmed but not ready to be announced for a couple of weeks yet, so more exciting news is to come, but meanwhile for Sunday we are able to announce a very welcome return for Nottingham-based Fahran, exponents of a hard rock sound inspired by the likes of Queen, Thin Lizzy, Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry. Also on Sunday, we’re very happy to welcome Resin, from Leicester area, a band recommended by many of our friends and supporters.

All the above bands are confirmed for the Dean Hocking Stage, that’s our main stage named after the bassist of Lincoln-based Nightvision, who was tragically killed in a car accident on 27th December 2012 at the tender age of 23. Dean graced the main stage at SOS Festival more than once and is forever fondly remembered and always missed, as a talented musician and dear friend.

As well as the Dean Hocking Stage we have an acoustic stage kindly sponsored by Metal Nation Radio. We’ll be ready to announce bands for the Metal Nation Radio Acoustic Stage before long.

SOS is a 3 day, 2 stage, rock and metal festival in North Manchester, with an enviable reputation as the friendliest, most welcoming such event in the UK."

L.A rockers Hail Sagan set to play Make America Rock Again Festival‏

26/8/2016

Picture

Female fronted Los Angeles hard Rock band Hail Sagan has announced that they will be playing in Spokane, Washington at The Pin on August 31st and the Make America Rock Again Tour on September 3rd in Reedley, California (Fresno) at The Wakehouse with Alien Ant Farm, Trapt Tantric and more.

The guitar pictured above will be signed by the band and raffled off at the Make America Rock Again Tour on Sept. 3rd in Fresno. The guitar raffle is free for everyone, but we ask you to please make a donation. A portion of the donations will go to the "Love Is Louder" foundation which addresses issues like bullying, negative self-image, discrimination, loneliness, and depression.

Hail Sagan features powerhouse vocalist Sagan Amery, with a devilish masked group rumoured to include guitarists Nick Quijano (Powerman 5000) and Andrew Weissberg. Since forming in 2015, the band has amassed a monstrous fanbase, with over 200,000 followers across their social media, solidified further this month with the release of their debut video “Dark Cloud”. The clip, which debuted earlier this month via Revolver, has already gained over 112,000 views. The track, and video, which deals with the subject of abuse and bullying, has already resonated strongly with fans.

Amery says:-

"It's been a great experience being able to broach the subject of bullying and abuse with the lyrics of this song. We took it one step further and created a video with director Matthew Crum and DP Kenny Keeler that visually enhanced the sensitive subject matter. We chose to mask the members of the band in an effort to show the world that anyone can be a part of this, you never know who will be under there, maybe even a fan or someone who needs music to save them."

You can view the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGK6UYAstnc

The band will release their self-titled debut EP in Fall 2016 on EMP Label Group, and will be available for pre-order later this month.

New Zealand's Ulcerate shares "Extinguished Light" from Relapse-bound Shrines Of Paralysis; album and tour details announced

24/8/2016

Picture

Forward-thinking, unorthodox New Zealand death metal trio Ulcerate returns this October with their latest master-work Shrines Of Paralysis. A flawless continuation of the band's signature sonic philosophy, this week the band shares the album's street date and pre-orders, as well as the first single, "Extinguished Light."

Shrines Of Paralysis spans eight tracks of Ulcerate's singular death metal, incorporating a wider range of styles and ideas than ever before. Influences both within and beyond metal abound: organic, inventive phrasings and novel compositional techniques flesh out a thundering package of death, doom, and black metal styles. As is characteristic of the band, Shrines Of Paralysis is about much more than just the music. The production, themes, and atmosphere all shape Ulcerate's music, and help guide the way through a highly evocative palette of dark and light passages, subtly dramatic rhythmic manipulation, and unparalleled technical heaviness. The band's most cohesive and powerful release to date.

Stream "Extinguished Light," the first single from Shrines Of Paralysis, via Relapse HERE and the label's Soundcloud HERE.

Shrines Of Paralysis is due out October 28th, 2016 on CD, 2xLP, and digital formats via Relapse Records. Physical packages and digital pre-orders are available HERE.

Additionally, Ulceratehas announced a headlining North American Fall tour with Icelandic dissonance-mongers Zhrine and Montreal death metal quartet Phobocosm.
