Driven with the band’s signature, unique blend of spiralling synth melodies, walls of guitar and evocative vocals, the new songs range from dark, aggressive anthems to danceable, pretty pop and hit all the bases that audiences have come to expect. However, there is also a rawness to the emotion expressed, an openness and vulnerability that feels new. One thing that is clearer than ever, however, is the tight bond that exists between the band members and their willingness to explore heartbreak and loss together. With these songs, they have entered the darkness of their most fragile emotions and returned with a cohesive and detailed musical portrait that captures both the anger and hope that exist within a moment in time. Christian Death have announced an extended tour in Europe starting at Le Ferrailleur in the French city of Nantes on September 30th and closing in style at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival in Whitby, UK on the 30th of October. The two day non for profit festival was formed to support women in metal, punk, hardcore and heavy bands! All bands on the festival line up feature one or more female members that are all Canadian and all power with special out of country guests Brazil's Nervosa headlining. 2% of proceeds from the festival will be donated to Girls Rock Camp and Vancouver Rape Relief and Women's Shelter. There is such a limited presence of women in rock and metal so we’re really looking forward to meeting all the other bands over the weekend.
