Ozzy Osbourne to perform at halftime show of NFL kick-off game

7/9/2022

Picture

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter Ozzy Osbourne will perform at halftime of the Los Angeles Rams season opener on Thursday, September 8th at SoFi Stadium. The performance comes on the eve of the release of Osbourne’s  new 'Patient Number 9' album out September 9 on Epic Records.

To kick off the 2022 season, the Los Angeles Rams will host the Buffalo Bills in the Rams’ first game at SoFi Stadium since winning Super Bowl LVI in February. The game will be presented nationally on NBC, Peacock and Universo at 5:20 PM PT/8:20 PM ET. Tickets are available at www.therams.com/tickets.

Fans in the stadium will be treated to a multi-song medley from Osbourne while viewers at home will see a portion of the performance on NBC and Peacock during halftime.

The new album marks the first release since Osbourne’s critically acclaimed, worldwide, chart-topping 2020 album 'Ordinary Man'. Produced by Andrew Watt (who handled the same duties on 'Ordinary Man'), the new album marks Osbourne’s 13th solo studio album. It’s heavy, it’s hard-hitting, it’s historic--it’s everything you’d want from an Ozzy Osbourne record and maybe more. Working with producer Watt for the second time, Ozzy welcomed dynamic A-list featured guests.

For the first time ever, Black Sabbath co-founder, guitarist, and riff-master Tony Iommi appears on an Ozzy solo album. The record also boasts guitarists Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready  of Pearl Jam, and longstanding righthand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde who plays on the majority of the tracks. For the bulk of the album, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers held down drums, while the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters appears on three songs. Old friend and one-time OZZY band member Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays bass on most of the album’s tracks, with Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction supplying bass on a few songs.

Bloodstock reveals more Thursday acts, exclusive to weekend ticket holders

30/1/2020

Are you a Bloodstock regular? Perhaps you’re thinking of coming for the first time, or you’ve tested the waters before with a day ticket just to see what you think? Bloodstock weekend ticket holders don’t just get three days of heavy metal glory, they get four!  While day tickets can be purchased closer to the event for Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday, Bloodstock starts the party on Thursday, exclusively for weekend ticket holders!  Get your tent pitched, grab your mates, and head over to the Planet Rock presents...Sophie Lancaster stage for a jam-packed evening of heavy metal fun.

Back in December, Bloodstock revealed that Swedish hard rockers The Night Flight Orchestra are set to headline Thursday’s opening night party. The Nuclear Blast-signed band, who feature members of Soilwork and Arch Enemy in their ranks, are promising new songs in 2020, but meanwhile, check out ‘This Time’ from current release, ‘Sometimes The World Ain’t Enough’ here.

Bloodstock is thrilled to announce that they’ll be joined on the bill by these four bands…

Firstly, the irrepressible goblin kings, NEKROGOBLIKON. Hailing from California, the group released latest album ‘Welcome To Bonkers’ in 2018, featuring the track ‘Dressed As Goblins’ - watch the video for it here. If that’s not enough goblin for you, browse the rest of their Nekrogoblitude, and if you want to dress up especially for their set, who are we to stop you?!  Be sure to get your photo snapped by our roving official photographers if you do!

Northern Irish death/doom merchants THE CRAWLING are also added to Thursday’s line-up. Citing influences such as Paradise Lost, Marduk, Katatonia, and Bolt Thrower, this stripped back, dark three piece will bring all the heavy. Get familiar via the video for ‘Still No Sun’ here, taken from their album ‘Wolves And The Hideous White’.

Derby-based grind squad RAISED BY OWLS are looking forward to adding their brand of extreme metal to Thursday’s headbangin’ shenanigans, promising a no-holds-barred aural assault with a hefty dose of sardonic humour.  You only have to check out the video for their Christmas charity single ‘The Santanist’ here (proceeds going to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation), to get a flavour of what’s in store.

Also joining the fray, are last year’s Bournemouth Metal 2 The Masses victors ANAKIM, offering up a choice blend of progressive black/death metal to get your weekend started. Check out that live set, including the single ‘Born Of The Serpents Tongue’, filmed at Bloodstock, here.  Their album, ‘Monuments To Departed Worlds’, is out now.

And that’s just the bands! There’s a host of other entertainment planned too, sure to kick off your weekend in glorious style. Don’t miss out!

Already got your weekend ticket? Started planning your travel yet? Don’t forget that BIG GREEN COACH picks up from 33 different locations across the country (with new cities added), very conveniently dropping you, your mates and all your camping gear, right inside the festival grounds. It’s good for your green credentials too!  For more info or to book your spot, head over to their site here.

For those of you interested in working at BLOODSTOCK as your means to attend, FESTAFF begin their volunteer recruitment drive from February 1. To get all the details on what that entails and to apply, go here.

BLOODSTOCK’s very popular ticket deposit scheme is now up and running, allowing you to spread your standard weekend ticket purchase over 5 instalments. After that, payments breakdown as follows: Payment 2 - £29 (debits 27/03/20), Payment 3 - £29 (debits 27/04/20), Payment 4 - £29 (debits 26/05/20), and then your Final Payment - £29 + postage (debits 26/06/20).  Please note VIP and child tickets are not eligible for the deposit scheme. Portuguese dark metal pioneers, Moonspell, will embark on an extensive European Tour with Rotting Christ this Fall. Starting on October 24th in Hamburg, Germany, this finest metal package will travel two months literally all over Europe, including dates in the UK, Spain, Turkey, Scandinavia and many more!

Just recently, Moonspell proudly announced to re-release their path-breaking Sin/Pecado and  2econd Skin records on December 13rd 2019 with Napalm Records. Especially Sin/Pecado, originally released back in 1998, became a great divider of the Moonspell wolfpack, showcasing the band's diverse talent, skills and signs of a rebellion in within vampire and wolves themes. A diversity the band will be also representing live on stage, when they will not only perform songs of their latest, Portuguese album 1755, but also timeless classics of their entire band history – from records such as Sin/Pecado, the unforgettable Irreligious, Wolfheart, Night Eternal or the critically acclaimed Extinct – no matter what's your favourite Moonspell era, on this run you will definitely come at your expense!

Picture

States Moonspell vocalist, Fernando Ribeiro:-

“The question in the air for Moonspell and Rotting Christ is: how will you guys pull this one out? We concede that we have embraced a quite epic trek of more than fifty cities to take in just one breath from the 24th of October all the way to December 15th. There’s only one way to answer your question: to grab a ticket and show up in one of our shows. The tickets are running low in some dates, some are sold out, and yes besides 1755 we will represent the classics and a couple of Sin/Pecado songs live to celebrate its reissue via Napalm Records in December. Europa under the spell!!!“

Mixing raucous comedy with borderline-horrific theatrics, the only thing more petrifying than impending health problems resulting from years of overeating is a Mac Sabbath show. Show attendees should be prepared to partake in the fun - Mac Sabbath puts on a theatrical, multimedia stage show - complete with a smoking grill, laser-eyed clowns, bouncing burgers and many more magical surprises... basically anything and everything an unwary show-goer could ever want in their wildest dreams. Named by Buzzfeed as one of the "13 Metal Bands You Didn't Know How to React To" + Named as LA's "Best Tribute Band" by LA Weekly.

Legendary doom metal band Mood reunite for 25-Year Anniversary in 2019

Dear media partners!

After 17 years the cult, Hungarian doom band, Mood is going to give one-off 25-Year Anniversary show in Budapest, Barba Negra on the 4th of January 2019.

The vital and internationally highly praised band of the local scene brought out 4 records during theirs 8 years career, last in 2001. The Fourth Ride of Doomanoids has been released by Hammer Records.

The era was closed by the official bootleg DVD, titled The Last Ride Of Doomanoids and recorded at the last show of the band. Members brought onward the nature of Mood in bands like Magma Rise, Stereochrist and Wall Of Sleep.

The band issued the following statement about their reunion:

“In the past 16 years, the idea of coming together has been raised many times, and most of them have been encouraged by promoters. We were getting close to implementation, but it did not happen.Mood was formed in December 18th in 1993, 25 years ago, we think it’s a good timing to remember with respect and to raise the dead for a while.  So, after 17 years, Mood will be on stage early next year. It is a single concert in Hungary. If there is a good opportunity, especially abroad, later next year we are open for that.We have a few months to complete and to close this story, in 2019.We are very pleased to return... for a while.
Raise the flag of doom high!

Sanyi / Kolos / Gábor / Balázs / Tamás”

Dear marks the band’s 25th year of existence and while the 10-track album is chock-full of early-Boris calling cards, the avant-garde ravens aren’t learning on old tricks, describing the album as “heavenly—far beyond heavy.”  Boris have shared the album’s first single and magnificent new music video “Absolutego”.

Though Boris have traversed a broad swath of sonic territories, they have always been consistently embraced the excess, pushing their myriad of approaches and stylistic forays to points of intoxicating absurdity. Eventually the band reached a crossroads in the early years of their third decade together, leaving them wondering if there were any new horizons left to explore. The renewed vitality yielded an album that fortifies their monolithic wall of sound while also allowing the individual band members to explore the nuances and intricacies of minimalist riffs played at maximum volume.

Songwriting for Dear initially yielded three albums’ worth of material by the end of 2015, but as the band was slated to spend a large chunk of 2016 on their “Performing Pink” worldwide tour, they decided to hold off on releasing any new material. The tour further rekindled their passion for the craft, spurring the band to return home to crank out even more new material while scaling down three records’ worth of sonic deluge down to one.

From the glacial pacing and earthquaking rumble of the album opener to the smouldering rock ’n roll-infused “Absolutego”, Boris have managed to find wildly thrilling work in the familiar trenches of metal. Never ones to shy away from a challenge, the trio carves even experiments with fuzz fuelled dream pop.  “At the very first moment, this album began as some kind of potential farewell note of Boris,” the band said. “However, it became a sincere letter to fans and listeners… you know, like ‘Dear so-and-so, this is the new album from Boris’ or something like that. We feel so grateful we can release this album in our 25th anniversary year.”

Dear will be released to the world on July 14, 2017 on CD, 2xLP, and digital formats. Stay tuned for more news to come.
