Four members of Russian symphonic metal band Imperial Age have taken the decision to relocate to Turkey following the ongoing situation between Russia and Ukraine. The band issued the following statement:- "Aor, Jane, Anna and Paul have left Russia and moved to Turkey. We had to relocate in order to keep the band going. We will restore our strength here, and then move forward - probably to another country. Meanwhile, we are announcing our new single "The Way is the Aim", out March 18." --------------------- - Imperial Age

Global Metal Apocalypse (GMA) Awards 2021 - Metal Release Of The Year (by country / territory)8/1/2022 So we now know who the winners of the GMA Awards 2021 were, but to wrap up the event in it's entirety and bid farewell to 2021 and usher in 2022, we must turn to the last bunch of awards - 'Metal Release By Country / Area'. Usually these would include the flag of the band's nation, but given the events in Afghanistan this year among other political turmoil, I felt it would be prudent to forgo any flags and just list the winners.... so without further ado here are the.... |

Russian goth metallers The End Of Melancholy unveil video for stirring cover of “The Immigrant Song”
17/7/2021
Russian alternative / goth metal band The End Of Melancholy has revealed a new video for their take on the Led Zeppelin classic “The Immigrant Song” from their latest album, Nature Unleashed.
The band share their thoughts:-
“We always loved this great band and in honour of their huge contribution to music, we decided to do a cover. There’s a line in lyrics, ‘We come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.’ Our band is from cold Russia, so we know what we’re singing about!”
Watch The End Of Melancholy’s video for “The Immigrant Song” now at
https://youtu.be/9apZAjuDTd0.
Nature Unleashed is available now digitally on Spotify and Bandcamp, and as a limited-edition CD including a jewel box, slipcase and 16-page booklet at https://theendofmelancholy.bandcamp.com/album/nature-unleashed.
The End Of Melancholy was founded in 2014 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and was quickly recruited to perform with such bands as Motionless in White, Theatres Des Vampires and Hanzel und Gretyl. Their 2019 album Paradox Intention was supported with two European tours, making stops in Poland, Lithuania, France, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, Switzerland and Estonia. Later that year, The End Of Melancholy was chosen by Motionless in White to support the American band at their first Russian show. The following year, the band signed on with Massive Music, one of the largest European booking agencies.
In addition to Paradox Intention, The End Of Melancholy has released numerous videos, including a cover of Lord of the Lost’s “Black Halo” and the originals “Monster’s Feeling,” “Genesis,” “Peaceful Warrior,” “The Demon” and “Dolphins.”
Russian Slavic folk metal band Sieta have just released their debut album "Novgorod". It is a historical concept album about the uprising of the ancient city of Novgorod against the baptism of Rus.

Russian progressive metalcore band Next Door To Heaven's new EP "Inside" is now out as of Thursday, March 25th. The self-released EP is the follow up to the band's 2020 single "Dance With Me" and the 2019 second album "V Ways To Accept" released on Sliptrick Records.
"Inside" features five djenty melodic prog tracks along with special guest vocals from Lord Nelson (ex-Stuck Mojo) on the record's closing song "Flare Up". The band's discography has always been known for flirting with djent metalcore influences and this new release is no different, except this time guitarist Evgenii “Gene” Mazunov took the helm on the band's sound with the use of a 9-string Ibanez along with bass, arrangement, and composition duties. Also joining as a guest for the recording is well-known Russian drummer Pavel Lokhnin (God Eat God, Dominia, Perimeter).
Vocalist and lyricist Daria Mazunova comments:
"We put our souls into the music we create, always. It’s not about making music for something in return, not about making it for fun. It’s about emotions transformed into music. I would say for 'Inside', we entered into more metalcore territory though it doesn’t mean there aren't prog components or experimentation done. Conceptually, the general idea of the EP is a fight between a human and a machine and a master/obeying inside one person. If you look at the cover art you will see a heart combined with a car engine in the moment of ignition."
"Inside" is available at the following links:

Russian metal collective Millstone is set to release its newest album, Isle. The album falls under the groove / death metal umbrella, with melodic solos, varied rhythms and a "wall-of-sound" density. Each of the 9 tracks carries its own unique mood; from acoustic sketches to bottom heavy Meshuggah-esque passages, along with a lethal dose of straightforward classic thrash.
Isle was written by Millstone mastermind Ivan Scherbakov and produced by Vladimir Lehtinen (Second To Sun, Ultar, Grima, etc.), Isle is a concept album based on sci-fi novel “The Inhabited Island” (Arkady and Boris Strugatsky).
Stream album track “Turned Inside Out” now at this location.
Isle will be out on CD and digital formats on April 28. Pre-orders are available at https://smarturl.it/MILLSTONE_ISLE
Arising from the east like a swarm of locusts, driven by an insatiable hunger to level all that stands before them with sheer, slamming, brutal death metal power, Insect Inside have arrived on the extreme music scene with a debut of pitiless savagery. The First Shining Of New Genus combines skin-crawling tales of a new world order of invertebrate domination with music that hits you like a ten ton truck, travelling at maximum velocity. Your new insect overlords don’t want your prayers and adoration; they just want your flesh!
Building on the template set down by their 2019 demo, For The Glory Of Swarm, with The First Shining Of New Genus Insect Inside have incorporated everything that they love about brutal death metal into their songs; insane blast beats, crushing slams, twisted, technical riffs, inhuman vocals and unnerving atmosphere. The result is an album that will speak to all fans of the very heaviest metal in existence. With some venomous guest vocals from Kevin Muller (The Merciless Concept), Roman (Abnormity) and Kirill Nazarov (Disfigurement Of Flesh, Decomposition Of Entrails) adding additional firepower to the mix, The First Shining Of New Genus is one of the standout debut albums of the brutal death metal genre in recent years.
Having joined the global legions of Gore House Productions Insect Inside are now ready to unleash The First Shining Of New Genus, their many-legged, chittering onslaught of barbed stings and poison upon the world. February 19th is the date decreed for the destruction of mankind, so abandon all hope and prepare to become fodder for the insect war machine!

Gore House Productions recently announced that they had signed Russian exponents of savage brutality, Insect Inside, for the 2021 release of their debut album, The First Shining Of New Genus. Now band and label are ready to unveil the first rotten fruits of their new alliance, with the lead single from The First Shining... premiering at the Gore House Productions YouTube channel. Grit your teeth and hold on tight, it's time for 'Posthumous Grief'!
Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gXmpY8RA48&feature=youtu.be
'Posthumous Grief' is definitely one of the stand out tracks from The First Shining Of New Genus and it features a guest vocal performance from Kevin Muller of The Merciless Concept. Kevin is a hugely respected vocalist in the brutal death metal scene who also sings with Soils Of Fate and has performed guest vocals for Suffocation. Also appearing on The First Shining... album are Roman Vlasenko from Abnormity and Kirill Nazarov from Decomposition Of Entrails.
The band have shared a few words with us to give you an idea of what to expect when you head to the Gore House channel...
"Our album is a symbiosis of several subgenres of brutal death metal! You will hear insane blastbeats, atmosphere, slamming riffs and technical riffs inherent in technical death metal, and of course ultra brutal guttural with old school growling. Our members love all death metal, from Ulcerate and Gorguts to Last Day Of Humanity, which is why on the album we tried to come to a common denominator through the theme of an ancient and undersoil swarm of insects that woke up in order to devour humanity and revive their population! Our goal is to get the listener to move to the beat of our slam grooves and just enjoy full quality brutality!"
So now you know what awaits, it's time to expose yourself to 'Posthumous Grief'!

Russian Brutal Death Metallers Ossuary Anex, have just revealed details of what will be their 3rd album to be entitled "Obscurantism Apogee", which will be released in September 22nd, 2020 through Xtreem Music on CD format.
Ossuary Anex were formed in 2008 and released two albums: "Awakening" (2012) and "Mutilation Through Prayer" (2016) before joining Xtreem Music and releasing their mini CD "Holy Blasphemition" in 2018. Already with their 3rd album "Obscurantism Apogee", where Dave Rotten (AVULSED) and Frank Rini (INTERNAL BLEEDING) collaborate, the band has achieved a much more mature and personal sound where its roots based on bands like SUFFOCATION, PYREXIA or SKINLESS, merge with different elements that makes them differ from the mass of meaningless bands that infest Brutal Death today. Cover artwork, once again, has been made by the genius Vladimir 'Smerdulak' Chebakov.
Release date for "Obscurantism Apogee" will be September 22nd, 2020 through Xtreem Music on CD format. You can visit OSSUARY ANEX's official site here: www.facebook.com/OssuaryAnex
