Italian epic metallers Sound Storm are both excited and proud to introduce the new members who have recently joined the symphonic metal band.
Now made up of 7 experienced musicians each bringing their own elements to the music, Sound Storm will feature two different style of vocals both of which are quite different from the previous singers.
Due to ex members’ quitting over the years (due to personal decisions), the band wanted something different than before, as they've been craving for something totally different from the past. Sound Storm is a continuous evolutionary process, and these changes are just the start of their (r)evolution.
The new line-up is made of:
Chiara Tricarico - Vocals
Andrea Racco - Vocals
Valerio Sbriglione - Lead and Rhythm Guitar
Elena Crolle - Piano, Keyboards and Arrangements
Massimiliano Flak - Bass
Rocco Mirarchi - Rhythm Guitar
Mattia Rubino - Drums
Sound Storm know their fans will give the warmest welcome to Chiara, Andrea and Mattia as permanent members of the band both in the studio and live activities as they are immensely talented and will help the band reach new heights. Denmark's Taphos sets release date for debut album; reveals first tracks, to tour with Degial in May
Blood Harvest Records and Helter Skelter Productions set June 8th as the international release date for Taphos' highly anticipated debut album, Come Ethereal Somberness, on CD and 12" vinyl formats.
Hot on the heels of Blood Harvest's compilation of the band's first two recordings as Demo MMXVI & 7" EP MMXVII, garnering widespread acclaim and heightening anticipation for their first full-length, at last arrives Taphos' Come Ethereal Somberness. As a debut LP, Come Ethereal Somberness does everything it should: stay consistent to a band's sound established on their demos whilst pointing toward new avenues. Here, Taphos do both, and then some.
Hailing from the same Danish scene as Undergang and Phrenelith, Taphos create a classic - and classically gutted - style of Metal of Death. Their first recording, Demo MMXVI, possessed a darkly thrashing sound highly reminiscent of turn-of-the-'90s death metal on both sides of the Atlantic, as resolutely Scandinavian as it was American, its filthy propulsion as palatably fresh as it was authentically ancient. On the subsequent two-song EP, Taphos' sound becomes more world-eating, their songwriting aims more epic whilst not losing the raw fury of their beginnings.
Now, with Come Ethereal Somberness, they synthesize the two stylistic shifts into something both berzerker and epic, manic and finesse in equal measures. Indeed, Taphos are firing on all songwriting cylinders here, as the energy literally bursts off the charts but retains a sense of composure and daresay class rarely scene in full-blooded death metal. Hammering and hideous yet nevertheless invoking a clarity that never castrates their attack, the quartet render each of these seven central compositions (bookended by moody instrumentals) a story unto itself. Hell, the titles themselves tell that story - "Ocular Blackness," "Insidious Gyres," and the equally telltale "Thrive in Upheaval" and "Impending Peril" among them - and that story is horrific.
New nightmares are here, then, and Taphos will be taking them on the road with a full European tour this May alongside Swedish comrades Degial (dates after the jump). Until then, as its title ominously proclaims, Come Ethereal Somberness! Hear two new tracks off the album, the aforementioned "Thrive in Upheaval" and "Impending Peril" HERE at Blood Harvest's Bandcamp. Pre-order info can be found HERE.

Austrian modern metal band Dystersol are pleased to announce that they have signed with WormHoleDeath for the release of their debut album "The Fifth Age of Man".
"It's been one and a half years now since we got in touch with the record label WormHoleDeath and decided to do an album together. Since then, a lot has happened! It was a time full of unique experiences, exciting challenges and lots of hard work. Being part of the WHD family did not only give us access to a professional network of Europe’s most passionate people in metal business, but also helped us to focus on the music during this time. Especially the recording process at Real Sound Studios was a breath-taking experience. With the help of these guys, we managed to create an album which would not even be imaginable without their support and experience. Finally, the professional audio mastering from Nick at New Alliance East in Boston gave our album the final touch.
What’s more, WHD had enormous influence on the artworks and designs on “The Fifth Age Of Man”. They provided us with loads of contacts and introduced us to ingenious artists such as Rhett Podersoo from MachineRoom Design and “the lord of the logos” himself, Christophe Szpajdel. From the first lyrics and riffs to the finished album in our hands, it’s been a lot of work, and now we are excited and proud to share it with the world. We are glad to say that we are 100% satisfied with the results and we hope that our fans and friends love this album as much as we do. All in all, we want to thank the WormHoleDeath family for their support during this awesome time, and we hope to be part of this family for a long time."
"The Fifth Age of Man" will be released on 04 May 2018 via Wormholedeath / Aural Music Group / Disk Union Distribution.
The whole album takes place during the Five Ages of Man described in Greek mythology, and focuses on the Iron Age - the last age of humanity - where people live in misery and kill each other for literally nothing. Egoistic motives have destroyed the whole planet for decades, and exploited people at the end of the food chain hunt each other down for worthless things. However, the album doesn’t focus on retelling ancient stories, but rather on connoting their meaning to modern times and personal concerns. As a consequence, the tracks leave a lot of room for interpretation, and many lyrics can be transferred to refer to one’s personal situation.
Dystersol was formed in 2013 in Aflenz and is an Austrian Modern Metal band. With the first release, the home-grown “Welcome the Dark Sun” in 2014, the band experimented with different sub-genres and used this ambiguity to create a diversified album. After numerous gigs across Austria and Germany (including the world renowned Kaltenbach Open Air) and years of intense song writing, their concept had become clear. Heavy, shattering guitar riffs, groovy deep bass lines, crushing double bass drums and mighty orchestras and synths provide the solid basis for uncompromising growling and screaming voices. Dystersol’s style can’t be assigned to one specific genre, but is definitely exciting for everyone who loves to bang their head to modern heavy music. The first professional LP “The Fifth Age of Man” will be released on May 4th 2018. Recorded at Realsound Studio in Italy, mastered at New Alliance East and distributed via their label Wormholedeath Records, Dystersol is proud to share their latest piece of metal music. Thematically based on ancient mythology, this album addresses some of the reoccurring problems which run like a thread through the history of mankind.

Russia's leading and finest pagan metal band Arkona, who are set to release their brand new album Khram on January 19th 2018 with Napalm Records, have just unveiled a first teaser and exclusive album preview! Get your ears on this first sneak peak, featuring all tracks from Arkona's upcoming album right HERE!
A Khram, the Russian word for temple, is shrouded in natural mysticism slumbering behind nocturnal treetops, yet open to everyone. The sincerity and depth that binds all five band members together resonates in the sumptuously dark cover artwork and front-lady Masha`s lyrics, that are written in her own blood (which is also part of the artwork)! Arkona may have used sound samples in their early days, but nowadays cellos, brass parts, wind instruments and throat singing are recorded live meticulously and flow naturally into the band's harsh metal tunes: King-sized songs effortlessly shift from blackened pagan metal masterpieces to epic tracks with crystal-clear melodies and piano infusions. So better mark your calendars for January 19th 2018, as Arkona’s Khram is an exuberant and demanding affair that defies genre boundaries with untameable spirit!
Coming as CD Digi Pack, Digital Download and LP Gatefold editions, Khram is now available to pre-order HERE!
In support of their upcoming album, Arkona will be heavily touring in early 2018, including an extensive European tour with Korpiklaani, Heidevolk, Trollfest & many more!

Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of Insanity Alert. The Austrian crossover party thrashers will release next album and also reissue their debut full-length through Season of Mist.
Insanity Alert comment: "We are extremely happy to announce that we are now part of the Season of Mist family. It is an honour to work with a label that has produced so many great records. First up will be the re-release of our self-titled debut album from 2014, which will be soon followed by a new full-length in 2018. Tout détruire!"
Insanity Alert were founded in the Austrian city of Innsbruck in the year 2011. Their declared intent: to deliver crushing crossover party thrash.
This tongue-in-cheek concept backed up by strong musical prowess worked out extremely well as their 'First Diagnosis' proved in 2012. This demo was well received and the first impression of the public quickly confirmed by the 'Second Opinion', which came out the next year. In 2014, the eponymous debut full followed and 'Insanity Alert' delighted critics and fans alike. The wild Tyrolians, always eager to please, served a juicy 'Moshburger' (2016) next and started to reap the rewards of their crazy live shows and quality output.
Insanity Alert were invited to perform at prestigious festivals such as Hellfest, Summer Breeze, Motocultor among many others and shared stages with some of their favourite acts such as Suicidal Tendencies, Municipal Waste, D.R.I., Sodom, Toxic Holocaust, and many more. In January 2018, the Austrians will be part of the Persistence Tour alongside Hatebreed, Madball, Terror, and others.
Insanity Alert are currently writing the follow-up to 'Moshburger', which is scheduled to be released via Season of Mist in 2018.
