Greek melodic Power metal masters Firewind, the group led by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., are proud to announce the release of their upcoming 8th studio album, 'Immortals', which will be released on January 20th, 2017 via the band’s long-time label partner Century Media Records in Europe.
Gus G. checked in to comment about 'Immortals' and its artwork (which can be seen above!) as follows: “Today we're very happy to reveal the cover artwork for our 8th studio album. It's titled "Immortals" and it's the first concept album Firewind has ever made. Since we're from Greece, we thought it would be a cool idea to make a concept of Greek history and heritage. So, on this album we focused on the legendary battles of Thermopylae and Salamis during the 2nd Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC. The artwork was once again created by our long-time collaborator, Gustavo Sazes and we feel it reflects the vibe we tried to capture on this album - Epic, Powerful, Glorious, Everlasting.”
'Immortals' marks the first time Firewind used an outside co-producer, working with Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69), who not only engineered, mixed and mastered the album, but also co-wrote it together with Gus G.
Next to the standard jewel case CD and Digital Download formats, “Immortals” will also be released as LP on 180gr vinyl with a poster as well as the entire album on CD as bonus. Additionally, there will also be a limited edition Media-book CD with expanded booklet, a bonus track and 3 stickers. Look out for more details and pre-order details soon…
A first album’s online single is set to debut on November 25th, but in the meantime you can already check out a few sample riffs in a play-through clip that Gus G. recorded in co-operation with Toontrack’s EZmix 2 and the Metal Guitar Gods 4 EZmix Pack expansion here:
Gus G. and Toontrack have also launched a regular "Metal Month Masterclass" series of video lessons, of which the first two episodes can be seen here:

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Austrian / German quintet Glare Of The Sun to the Lifeforce Records roster.
Drown yourself into the deep sea of wide and heavenly guitars. Dreamy, shoe-gazy, epic. But wait for it – the massive hammer of doom will hit you soon enough. Unexpected, unprepared, merciless. Glare Of The Sun are beautiful and brutal at the same time. Promising and melancholic, tumbling at the edge of senses, between falling and rising, light and dark, night and day. Always creating space, leaving it up to you which side you want to choose.
Experienced musicians (form Germany and Austria) of all kinds of genres breaking the boundaries. No rules – no remorse. And that’s also how their music sounds like. Doom meets Post, Shoe-Gaze, Prog and several other kinds of music. All is authentic, all is glare. In July 2016 Glare Of The Sun booked the Vato Loco Studios of Martin Schirenc (Pungent Stench) to create their first Album „Soil“, which will be released in January 2017 on Lifeforce Records. Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Bloodbath) and his Unisound Studio Sweden was responsible for the mastering.
Glare Of The Sunconsists of members/ex-members of Zombie Inc., Collapse 7, Microtonner, Ghouls come knockin‘, Proll Guns.

The band commented on the live album saying:
"We are very excited about the live songs that we recorded on this last US Tour. Joe Cincotta from Full Force Studio is also our live sound engineer and he had his full recording rig on the road with us so we took advantage of the opportunity and recorded the show every night. The quality was amazing so we decided to include this as part of the Ten Thousand Ways to Die release to give the fans a little Ob bonus! We selected songs from different cities so you will hear the sound difference between each song. Nothing was done to the songs after the live performance recording so it gives you the real, true, unedited "live show" sound and feeling that the fans experienced at each show."

Austrian melodic death metal band Relinquished signs with NRT-Records and announce new Album for 2017!
Since 2004 the Multi-Metal players from Relinquished were able to establish quite a name in the german Metal-Scene and can look back on a very successful Career. The Quartet from Kufstein (Austria) first drew Attention to themselves when they released their first EP "Rehearshal Doom" in 2004, thanks to this very EP they were able to convince Bookers and Promoters for them.

Their Albums "Susanna Lies in Ashes" and "Onward Anguishes" are Audio documentaries which give a perfect insight into the continuous development of their music. Even though Relinquished stay true to themselves and created their own, unique sound, these 2 Albums are different from each other, which shows that their Band is steadily developing. Their first album sounded very much like pure Death / Doom with a hint of Black Metal, Onward Anguishes on the other hand already has influences of Alternative- & progressive & Gothic Metal.

The music videos of the band are remarkable as well, because similar to their records, they brought in a lot of appreciation from their critics and fans. Now Relinquished has signed a record deal with the German Independent-Label NRT-Records and are going to release their third studio album "Addictivities" in the next year via NRT-Records. The label has already tackled the digital re-release of Relinquished's Backing catalogue. Here's a very interesting Interview with the Band.
Austrian Gothic Metallers Darkwell are back and ready to go, with their new album only a month away, they decided to send out a message to all of their followers:-
We are really happy to be back in the scene! We hope, some of you remember Darkwell, and all who do not we'd like to introduce. With this message we'd like to inform you, that our new Album "Moloch" will be released on 23rd of September on Massacre Records."
Arch Enemy will play the biggest stage production of their career at next week’s Wacken Open Air on Saturday, August 6th around midnight, making this the pinnacle of a highly successful album campaign. The album reached the highest US and German chart positions in the band’s career and Arch Enemy played over 200 shows in over 40 countries around the world. In late 2014 Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore) joined Arch Enemy during the world tour with Kreator and in 2015 they played arenas as direct support of Nightwish.
