Tor Marrock unveil their new video for the track 'The Belonging'. The dark, occult imagery is perfectly suited to one of the standout tracks from the album The Concept Of Self, which is due out on Black Vulture Records on December 13th.
Word of the album's imminent release has been spreading through the metal underground like wildfire and this new unnerving clip will only serve to heighten the anticipation surrounding it.

"In the deep velvet shadows between the flames figures twist and entwine, dancing on the edge of perception, frightening but deeply alluring. There’s a soft, sensual voice inviting you to step through the flames into the enticing wickedness beyond. Words of promise and ritual spiral through the night air, carried on silver threads of sound, music that speaks to something deep, primal and all but forgotten. The music offers a connection to truths you once knew, it promises passion beyond reason and an unveiling of secrets. Knowledge and lust, power and revelation, transcendence through pleasure... Enter the shadow realm and become part of The Belonging..."

Reinvention and continuity – Oomph! have been synonymous with self-renewal, pioneer spirit and carefree creativity for almost three decades. Gold and platinum awards, international top chart entries and their number #1 hit single "Augen Auf!" speak for themselves! Hardly a band has ever influenced the German musical scene so deeply and still keeps it heavily fascinated!
The trio around CRAP, DERO and FLUX is now ready to release its thirteenth album Ritual. "Our most aggressive, heaviest and darkest album in a while“, singer Dero states truthfully. After the signing with Napalm Records earlier this year, it's time to unveil all album details of their forthcoming Ritual.
The band states on Ritual:
"We are very happy to introduce you to our new album "Ritual" today! This album contains 100% Oomph!: We wrote, produced and mixed everything in our own recording studio! We used our time in between two tours to get some fresh and very inspiring impact of the recent live experiences and composed the majority of the songs in jam sessions all together. That probably explains why the songs on Ritual are hard, riff-heavy and dark. The album Artwork brilliantly supports the mystical character of our songs and lyrics and leaves plenty of scope for own interpretations."

Metal giants Epica have launched a short teaser from their upcoming release 'Beyond The Matrix - The Battle' – a unique collaboration with the Dutch Grammy-award winning Metropole Orkest.
In the summer of 2017, with the help from their massive fan base, Epica won a high-profile competition organized by the Metropole Orkest. First prize was a recording of a song of their choice with the orchestra. In between Epica‘s heavy touring schedule, the band was able to conjure up a unique, never-before-seen 'Big Band meets Symphonic Metal' rendition of 'Beyond the Matrix'. As a bonus to all voters, runner-up in the competition and friend of the band, Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) contributed a beautiful guest-solo to the song.
Simone Simons comments:
"The short teaser of 'Beyond The Matrix - The Battle' gives you a small preview of our upcoming release. Never before did we have such a unique collaboration as with the Metropole Orkest. Expect to be blown away, literally and figuratively!”

Spanish gothic metal combo Rainover entered MathLab Recording Studio today to start tracking their sophomore album. Following the success of their debut platter “Transcending the Blue and Drifting Into Rebirth” this new record is a huge step ahead for the band, both in term of songwriting and identity.
Carlo Bellotti Stated:
“Today we started the production of Rainover‘s new album at MathLab Recording Studio. It has taken along time to become reality but we have done a great pre-production job with the songs in Spain and we can’t wait to finally listen to them finished. The band’s identity is now stronger and the musicians have such a great experience and conviction after 4 years of touring, festivals, songwriting and promotion. This record is darker but also more epic and melodic. I am so proud to be the producer of Rainover’s music again. I would like to thank the band and Jonathan Mazzeo for their constant trust. Wait and see…”
The band will record the album with their new guitar player Antonio Garcia.

Osmose Productions has set September 28th as the international release date for Binah's highly anticipated second album, Phobiate, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
Binah’s genesis can be traced back to sometime in 2010, when Aort started concocting early visions with the purpose of producing a recording of gothic, detailed, and blood-curdlingly morbid death metal. Shortly thereafter, I.R.G. and A. Carrier were preternaturally absorbed into the project, thus forming the core triumvirate that would summon the Binah sound.
A couple of pre-production demonstrations were shared, promptly sparking the interest of several sombre institutions. Dark Descent and Me Saco Un Ojo were welcomed to ink a deal with the aggrupation for the release of Binah’s first work in CD/digital and vinyl platforms, respectively.
In the year 2012, the long-play recording Hallucinating in Resurrecture was published on the aforementioned formats, followed by a short-play phonograph record of seven inches and three musical pieces entitled A Triad of Plagues in 2014. Both works encountered wide, possession-like acclaim and were completed by a limited, band-funded cassette version of Hallucinating in Resurrecture on Aort’s own Haintic imprint.
Although Binah was, and remains, a studio-based aggrupation, 2014 did witness a rare public performance in support of Germany’s acclaimed quadrumvirate of death metal, Necros Christos.
A spell of ghost-like silence brings us to the year 2017, when Binah’s second recording of full length is conceived and pieced together in secretive and sinister fashion. Upon completion of this work, the band notes how an unpredicted and subtle development has taken place both conceptually and sound wise. Deciding that this path remains faithful to the original template, the three members show no hesitation in pursuing its release and commence a phase of spectral negotiations.
The turn of the year witnesses the alliance of Binah with long-standing institution Osmose Productions to realise and promote the new musical pieces. Responsible once again for the artworks are old band associates Jaume Mayans and Daniela Kropeit, otherwise known as MMonsterbrush.
Thus commences a detour, of undefined duration, from older ideas onto a disquieting and uncertain future. Trepid yet resolute, Binah’s journey into the great unknown continues.
Take the first step onto that journey with the new track "The Silent Static" HERE at Osmose's website, where the album can also be pre-ordered.
The New York based industrial metal duo Hanzel und Gretyl mark their 25th anniversary with a
brand new studio album. ’Satanik Germanik’ is HuG’s darkest, heaviest sounding record to date -
more evil, menacing yet fun than ever. It continues their progression towards a harder, more metal
based sound that marked their previous release, 2014’s ‘Black Forest Metal’.
Formed in New York in 1993, the HuG duo of Kaizer von Loopy and Vas Kallas released their debut
album, ‘Ausgeflippt’, two years later and embarked on consecutive US tours with Marilyn Manson after playing just a handful of local shows.
Its follow-up, 1997’s ‘Transmissions From Uranus’, was praised for its progressive musical stylings and groundbreaking technological advances. Promoted via a tour with Prong, further live commitments saw HuG headline a Halloween show in Des Moines, Iowa with local band Slipknot as their support act, while in 1998 they themselves supported Rammstein on their first US trek.
HuG began a long association with Metropolis Records in 2003 when the label issued their third album, ‘Über Alles’. Described as a "futuristic Wagnerian rock opera", it marked a stylistic change for the band, favouring heavy guitar riffs and Germanic themes over their proven electro-metal sound. It got great reviews from publications as diverse as Kerrang! (UK) and The Village Voice (US).
Next up was 2005’s controversially titled ‘Scheissmessiah’. Memorably reviewed as ‘Handel’s
Messiah from Hell’, HuG grew harder and heavier and toured with Ministry and My Life With The
Thrill Kill Kult. An EP, ‘Oktötenfest 2006’, led to UK dates with Cradle Of Filth.
Their fifth album, ’2012: Zwanzig Zwölf’ (2008), was a concept record based on the Mayan theory that
the world would end in 2012 (but with a fantastical twist on proceedings) and saw death and black
metal elements incorporated into HuG’s musical make-up. The duo’s cult following continued to grow
and they played their first extensive headlining world tour in 2009.
After the world failed to end, 2012 saw the release of ‘Born To Be Heiled’, an eclectic blend of death,
black and doom metal, classic rock, electronic and industrial elements tied together with HuG’s
unmistakable ersatz German affectations coupled with strong outlaw biker motifs. A companion piece entitled ‘Hanzel und Gretyl Für Immer’, comprised entirely of remixes by KyzrWölf (Loopy's electronic side-project), was made available in autumn 2013 to coincide with a European tour.
Late 2014 saw HuG's seventh album, ‘Black Forest Metal’, which marked the beginning of a new era
for the band. Their darkest and most metal sounding effort to date, it employed satanic themes
cross-referenced with forest motifs from the original Brothers Grimm fairy tale. US and two European
tours followed the release.
2015 saw Hanzel und Gretyl appearing in the DVD/BluRay release ‘Rammstein In Amerika’, where
the duo were interviewed alongside the likes of Steven Tyler, Kiss, Marilyn Manson, Iggy Pop, Korn,
Slash and more discussing Rammstein’s first shows in the USA almost twenty years earlier.
A long awaited new album by Hanzel und Gretyl entitled ‘Satanik Germanik’ will mark their
25th anniversary in 2018.

British goth metal band Her Despair have just released their new track "Valentine's Mourning". The song is taken from their upcoming release Mournography, which will be released later this month.
The band commented:-
“Valentine’s Mourning” is as much a display of adoration to the punk rock of the 2000’s as to the gothic music of the 1980’s. Veering more towards romance than repentance, we wanted to showcase a song which is more upbeat than usual. A faint light in the approaching dark."
Listen to the song here: https://distortedsoundmag.com/premiere-valentines-mourning-her-despair/
Her Despair, formed in 2015, began as a solo project with the release of debut album “Hymns For the Hopeless.” Showcasing the melodramatic sound and aesthetic of gothic music with the accessibility of punk and the stylings of heavy metal, the solo studio project has subsequently evolved into the current full line-up. With nods toward fellow countrymen The Sisters of Mercy and Paradise Lost, to bands such as HIM and Rammstein, the band create their own unique twist on the styles that they are influenced by.
“Mournography,” the brand new follow-up EP and first as a full-fledged band, was recently completed by the band with Matt Bew at Whitehouse Studios (Reading, UK), and is described as such:
“Mournography is an exploration into the mysteries of tragedy, blasphemy, death, and love; both literally and figuratively. The mourning of some, the lust of others. These songs praise and pervert the Word of God simultaneously: providing a deeply unsettling spiritual experience set to a bleak backdrop of melancholia.”
From their location in Berkshire UK, the band is set to unleash new convocations upon locations which have included London, Oxford, Bournemouth and Reading. Continuing to expand their fan base throughout live performances, clouds of smoke and lights theatrically immerse the audience, providing a perfect setting to experience the compelling material.
