True avant-garde Norwegians Enslaved have announced the release of their epic new studio album for October 13th 2017. This 14th full-length masterpiece sets the musical mind-twisters free from genre boundaries and offers an unprecedented mix of prog, extreme metal and shoegaze on 8 tracks with a playing time of more than an hour. Elegantly titled ‘E’, the album was once again written by the unholy alliance of guitarist Ivar Bjørnson (music, lyrics) and singer/bassist Grutle Kjellson (lyrics) and marks the introduction of their new keyboard master and clean vocalist Håkon Vinje. Mixed and mastered at the Fascination Street Studios by the renowned Jens Bogren, ‘E’ heralds a new era for Enslaved. Its cover artwork was once again hand-painted by the Norwegian artist Truls Espedal. As support for their brave sound journey, the quintet brought several guest musicians on board for the songs 'Hiindsiight' and 'Feathers Of Eolh', including Warduna's Einar Kvitrafn Selvik, flutist Daniel Mage and jazz saxophonist Kjetil Møster.

Nearly three years in the making, black metal legends Satyricon have revealed their highly anticipated ninth studio album, 'Deep calleth upon Deep' is set for release on 22nd September via Napalm Records. The opus will be available in digital format, CD digipak and gatefold vinyl options and is now available for pre-order HERE!
The band recently unveiled initial album details and the album’s artwork, an obscure drawing from 1898 by perhaps the greatest Norwegian artist of all time, Edvard Munch.
Recorded in Oslo, Norway and Vancouver, Canada, during early 2017 and mixed together with revered studio guru Mike Fraser (who previously worked on Satyricon’s 2006 album, ‘Now, Diabolical’), ‘Deep calleth upon Deep’ is not just a new collection of songs from one of extreme music’s most enduring and reliable bands: this is a wholesale reinvention and a brand new era in Satyricon history.
Says frontman and visionary Satyr: “Approaching this release, what I always kept in mind is that either this is the beginning of something new or it’s gonna be my last record. If this is going to be the last, then it needs to be something special. If there are more records, then I’d better make sure that this is so different from the last one that it feels like a new beginning. I think it’s really, really dark, very spiritual and filled with confidence and energy.”
'Deep calleth upon Deep' is a profound statement about the essence of Satyricon’s music and the eternal value of art itself. Satyr continues, “The way that I see it is that for any art, be it Satyricon or any other form of art with substance, in order for you to be able to inhale and completely understand it, it will take a little bit of you as well. If you get it all after a couple of listens, you know that it probably won’t stay with you. So the title is saying, ‘From the depth of the people making this record to the depth of the listener…’ If you want to take part in this journey, you should be prepared to dig deep down in the darkest corner of your soul with us."
Satyricon have always excelled as a live band, their evocative performances increasingly becoming special events as their frequency is dialled back to accommodate the Oslo band’s new ‘modus operandi’. In support of 'Deep calleth upon Deep' the band is set to tour on the following dates:

Forever Plagued Records has set June 30th as the international release date for Sator Malus' debut album, Dark Matters. Hailing from the Netherlands, Sator Malus play atmospheric black metal with conviction and ideas deriving behind darkness, space, and worlds beyond the eyes of humanity. Sator Malus include (ex-)members of such bands as The Spirit Cabinet, Walpurgisnacht, Grimm, Cirith Gorgor, and Hooded Priest, so they are not by any stretch new to black metal. Also, they’ve brought upon IX of Urfaust as special guest vocalist to one of the tracks for fans who can relate.
Forever Plagued will present Sator Malus' Dark Matters on CD worldwide on June 30th, and the LP release later in the year. In the meantime, hear that aforementioned track featuring IX of Urfaust - "Endless Cycles of Life and Death" - at Forever Plagued's Soundcloud HERE.
Amsterdam-based metal band, Seita released the single and video for "Call It Evolution" on May 5th, 2017. The single is available in digital format only on the main music online platforms.
Check out here the video Call It Evolution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQousD0_wmg
"Call It Evolution" is a chaotic snapshot of mankind’s often contradictory and self-destructive path towards so-called progress.
Raw, intense, and unapologetic: the band’s sonic assault pushes boundaries, while remaining true to its roots in aggressive and brutal music.
Their focus is more on the discovery of different musical landscapes, as a means to express their message, rather than self- identifying with a specific sub-genre or trend.
"The ones that pull the trigger must be ready to die..."
Dutch black metallers Dystopia will unleash their second full-length album, 'Chaos Philosophorum', on April 21st. The band has now unveiled the second track entitled 'Black Death'. The song is streaming exclusively through Terrorizer and can be heard via the link below.
The band had the following to say about the track: "Black Death explores the idea of what it means to live in a dystopia. It's about the thought that a dystopic society can't only exist because of a corrupt government, but it can also materialize by the absence of one. What happens when your leaders die because of the black plague? What happens when nobody knows what to do and the structure of civilization falls apart? It is a mixture of doom and fleeting hope and the music reflects that."
Themes on 'Chaos Philosophorum' deal with space, existence and death. "We wanted to combine these concepts in our artwork, so we took the medieval plague doctor as a strong and recognizable symbol of death, and combined it with the almost magical shapes and colors of a galaxy. As if he is casting a spell. The artist Adam Burke did a tremendous job converting our ideas into this artwork."
The official 'Chaos Philosophorum' release-show will take place on April 21st at the renowned ‘Patronaat' venue in Haarlem, The Netherlands. More information can be found here!
