Spain's Onirophagus reveal first track, cover and tracklisting for new album "Endarkenment (Illumination Through Putrefaction)"
Spanish Doom / Death sextet Onirophagus have just finished work on their second album, "Endarkenment (Illumination Through Putrefaction)", which will be released internationally on February 19th, 2019 through Xtreem Music.
Five years have passed since the release of their first album, "Prehuman", in September 2013, a time frame where Onirophagus have suffered some line-up changes but still managed to retain the essence of their sound, turning it even heavier and darker, creating a monumental opus divided into four acts with a total running time of almost one hour! The style of Onirophagus is a deep doom/ death with noticeable influences from bands like Ophis, Evoken, Necros Christos, Morgion, and My Dying Bride.
Release date for Endarkenment (Illumination Through Putrefaction) will be February 19th, 2019 through Xtreem Music on CD format. Hear the new track "Dark River" HERE at Xtreem's official YouTube channel as well as at the label's Soundcloud HERE.
Italian progressive metal band, Last Union have released a new music video and single for ‘Most Beautiful Day’ featuring Mike LePond (Symphony X) on bass and Uli Kusch (ex-Helloween, ex-Masterplan) on drums. The track is taken from their debut album ‘Twelve‘, which also features Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie on three songs, and will be released on December 21, 2018 through Roar! Rock Of Angels Records. The effort was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren, best known for his work with Arch Enemy, Symphony X, Devin Townsend, Angra and Opeth, to name a few. The video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/uFgiGhdgYnA
The album can be pre-ordered here:
The quiet city of Tolentino in the Marche region of Central Italy not only boasts a rich historical background, it is also the place progressive metal band Last Union calls home. Founded by vocalist Elisa Scarpeccio, guitarist Cristiano Tiberi and keyboardist Claudio Feliziani in 2007, the band — originally known as Blazing Ice — embarked on their journey in the pursuit of sharing their thoughts and feelings about life, and ultimately their art, with the world. With the assistance of professional session bassists and drummers, the trio established themselves on the Italian scene with a string of shows that helped them evolve and refine their craft. Over the course of 20 shows, Last Union presented songs that would eventually make the final cut for their debut album.
Strong and positive reactions to their music spurred Scarpeccio and Tiberi on to take the first of many bold steps. The first was to reach out to Kusch, who, after hearing the music, expressed interest in joining the band as a full member rather than just a touring drummer. A similar scenario played out with LePond and Last Union was officially born. The icing on the cake, however, was getting LaBrie to sing on three tracks.
LAST UNION is:
Elisa Scarpeccio – Vocals
Cristiano Tiberi – Guitars
Mike LePond – Bass (Symphony X)
Uli Kusch – Drums (ex-Helloween, ex-Masterplan)
Feat. James LaBrie on vocals (Dream Theater)

Agonia Records is pleased to welcome Italy's Hour Of Penance to its roster. The technical, brutal death metal band has signed a record deal with the Polish-based label in November of 2018, after parting ways with Prosthetic Records, via whom the band released three of their last albums, including 2017's "Cast The First Stone". Currently Hour Of Penance is on the final lap of writing songs for the album's as yet untitled successor, set for a 2019 release.
Hour Of Penance commented:-
"We’re really excited to announce that Hour of Penance signed a new deal with Agonia Records. The first fruit of our cooperation, a new album, is coming in 2019. It’s great to be part of a label that has always been focused on quality extreme metal and it’s the right place to spread our music and brutalize the ears of extreme metal fans all over the world with the new songs we’ve composed. We’re working very hard to bring you our finest and best sounding album so far and we cannot wait to start recording. More details will be revealed in the upcoming months, so keep your eyes open".
Hour Of Penance has steadily been making a name for themselves as one of the most intense, talented and impressive death metal bands around, both in the studio and on stage. Pouring heart into death metal and releasing emotions into what they do, they can easily be described as a beast of a performer; they even have a philosophy around it. "Death metal is more than just music", states the band. "It transcends such a limited mortal state of mind. Death metal is the aural expression of humanity’s darkest side, of devastation, sorrow and the harbinger of mankind’s own inhumanity and ultimately its destruction. Death metal is not a trend, a fashion parade or a mean to an end. It is much more than that.
It is a way of life. A life in death". What might sound as a litany, is actually related to one of the Holy Capitals, Vatican City, near which Hour Of Penance was brought to life in 1999. Since its formation, the band released seven studio albums, and performed shows in Europe and North America, with the likes of Behemoth, Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Devildriver, Misery Index, Nile and Krisiun. They also went through several line-up changes, that would surely have discouraged less dedicated bands. The present line-up consists of guitarist and longest serving member Giulio Moschini, singer and guitarist Paolo Pieri, bassist Marco Mastrobuono and drummer Davide Billia (Beheaded).
Somnambulic doom metallers Vanishing Kids stream the entirety of their highly anticipated fourth album, Heavy Dreamer, at heavily trafficked web-portal CVLTNation.com. Set for international release on November 30th via Svart Records, hear Vanishing Kids' Heavy Dreamer in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Hailing from Wisconsin, Vanishing Kids has been an ever-evolving artistic and musical journey since the early 2000s, with core members and founders Jason Hartman (Jex Thoth) and Nikki Drohomyreky on vocals. As kids of the '70s and '80s who grew up on metal, prog rock, krautrock, psych, punk, and goth, they have managed to carve out a niche of their own for themselves.
The band's newest and most powerful culmination arose when Jason Hartman’s childhood hero - and Midwest metal legend - Jerry Sofran (Lethal Heathen, Mirrored Image) joined in 2013. Shortly thereafter, the hard-hitting Hart Allan Miller (Wartorn, Deathwish, Tenement) joined on drums to complete the line-up.
Being the first full-length outing from Vanishing Kids in over five years, Heavy Dreamer is soaked in captivating shoegazey fuzz vaguely reminiscent of what My Bloody Valentine would sound like had they grown up on a diet of psychedelic doom metal and occult rock.
Hear all of it for yourself exclusively HERE, courtesy of CVLTNation.com. Also hear - and especially see - for yourself with the previously revealed video for "Creation" HERE at Svart's official YouTube channel. Pre-order info can be found HERE.

Explore the rich lore that has been created through these stories and feel the magic of this imaginative new world, with its own characters, gods and creatures. Norwald, brings you Magical lands and magnificent warriors; Mythical creatures, life, and death, in the form of power metal songs.
To acquaint the world of Norwald, they have released their first two singles, 'Creatures' and ‘Arden’. ‘Creatures’ regales listeners with the tale of Prince Thostar who is on a quest for the throne. It’s a fast and simple song to introduce both the band and world of Norwald.
‘Arden’ is a bonus tale, not directly related to the rest of the story told on the upcoming concept album. It is fun and dancey, but with a cold vibe.
With influences such as Nightwish, Rhapsody and Epica, Norwald is just as enchanting as the tale it tells. As to what their debut album brings, composer Grief explains her purpose:
“The album is, as a whole, an epic tale that goes through a lot of phases, to finish in an epic song that Norwald people would sing in their taverns. To end the whole thing and to make people want to listen to more of our stories, we play Arden, which is a short tale not related to the tale told in the rest of the album.”
‘Creatures’ is available on YouTube.
‘Arden’ is also available on Youtube.
The release date for the debut album is yet to be announced.
Norwald is both the band name and a vast fantasy world that was imagined in the mind of Patri Grief many years ago and has now been brought to fruition to indulge listeners everywhere. Grief’s fascination for storytelling and music began at a young age: she dreamed up a world where her imagination could take flight and ultimately bring her stories to life through music.
With immense imagination, Norwald plunges the listener into a brand new fantasy world. Incorporating made up words and characters set in a medieval era, Norwald is putting a whole new spin on epic power metal. Well written songs, each as a metaphor with its own personality, Norwald is charging in to the spotlight with poetic symphonic magic.
Over the years, members came and left the band and it wasn’t until 2017 when there was enough suitable talent for the band to take off. The line-up now consists of Ann Meseguer (vocals); Patri Grief (composer/lead guitar); Alejandro Leonidas (rhythm guitar); Jeffrey García (bass) and Frehul Martínez (keys).

Spanish grind band Ernia are now streaming their new song “Heroes of Withdrawal” via Invisible Oranges. The song is from their self-titled new album which will be released next week.
The site commented:
"Clocking in at three-and-a-half minutes, “Heroes of Withdrawal” is the album’s meatiest track by nearly a full minute. Ernia make the most of this additional time as they usher the listener through a full tasting menu of movements, each course arriving before the previous has barely been touched. The band are ever-insatiable, bounding from one passage to the next in the throes of their unbridled fury while taking pains throughout to craft sensible and mature transitions. This approach promulgates upwards to the album’s structure as a whole, each song flowing into the next with many blurred lines between."
