Born from the ashes of Beast War Returns, To The Rats & Wolves gained popularity rather quickly with their eye-catching outfits, two singers and a trademark heavy sound. One EP and two albums in, their energetic mix of electronic energy and modern, contemporary heaviness is unique in today’s music scene. Their newest effort benefits from a strict DIY-attitude - as the band took over every part of it’s production without outside influences.
To The Rats & Wolves are:
Dixi Wu | vocals
Nico Sallach | vocals
Danny Güldener | guitars
Marc Dobruk | guitars

Veteran Industrialists Static-X return with original band line-up; announce new album and world tour
Static-X is back! Featuring the band's original line-up introduced on their 1999 platinum-selling debut full-length album, Wisconsin Death Trip, bassist Tony Campos, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay have joined forces once again to release a new album, Project Regeneration. The album, set for release in spring 2019, will be released in conjunction with a world tour to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip. The band plans to perform the majority of their debut album at each show. Headline dates will serve as memorial events to honour late frontman Wayne Static, who passed away on November 1, 2014. More information on the world tour and other dates will be coming soon.
The band has cultivated a treasure chest of vocal performances and musical compositions left behind by Wayne. Along with the help of Static-X 's long-time producer Ulrich Wild, the band is in the process of completing their seventh studio album, which will feature between 12 and 15 brand new Static-X tracks.
"With the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip quickly approaching, it feels like the right time to pay our respects to the band, to Wayne, and to all the fans who have been with us right from the start. We had a lot of material to work with... several demos that Wayne left behind, as well as some really great isolated vocal performances from some nearly finished songs. Together, we have been writing and crafting something very special!" says bassist Tony Campos
Check out a new teaser featuring clips from a brand new music video, as well as five new Static-X tracks - "Road To Hell", "Something Of My Own", "Terminator Oscillator", "Hollow" and "Disco Otsego" - along with a personal message from bassist Tony Campos about the inspiration behind Project Regeneration now at www.static-x.org.
For the unfinished tracks, the band is inviting several of their friends to lend their voices for the completion of this very personal project.
"We have confirmed interest from our friends David Draiman, Ivan Moody, Al Jorgensen, Dez Fafara, Edsel Dope, Burton C Bell, and a few others," says Campos. "Unfortunately, due to everyone's crazy schedules, it is a little early to know how things will shake out. We are more than confident that the album will have some incredible guest vocalists, but it should be noted that it is still too early to count anyone in 100%."
The guest vocalist curation process is being led by none other than SiriusXM programming pioneer Jose Mangin, who is working alongside the band as one of the executive producers for Project Regeneration.
Static-X has created a pre-order campaign allowing fans who purchase Project Regeneration in advance to have their name appear in the liner notes of the new album. Additional special pre-order package options are also available, including Project Regeneration merch bundles and several old school Static-X merch items to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip. Pre-orders are available via www.static-x.org.
"This is a celebration of Static-X Wisconsin Death Trip, Wayne Static, and all of our fans," adds Campos. "We are very excited about what we have created, so we wanted to involve the fans early, and in a campaign sort of way, so that they can participate with us and help to dictate some of the things that we do."
"Reuniting with the guys has been an amazing experience," says drummer Ken Jay. "It's been so much fun sharing stories and working on new music together. Obviously, it is bittersweet because we all miss Wayne and we wish that he was here with us, doing what he did best... Evil Disco..."
"I am so excited to play Static-X songs live again," says guitarist Koichi Fukuda. "The Static-X sound is so big and powerful live! I can't wait to play songs like "Bled For Days", "Push It" and "I'm With Stupid" again."
Static-X plans to do multiple video updates and a series of Facebook Live chats over the next few months in order to keep the fans involved as the process continues to unfold.
"We feel very grateful that we have such a loyal fan base that misses the band, and misses Wayne, and I know that Wayne would appreciate all the heart and effort that we are putting into this," says Tony Campos. "I've had some very heartfelt discussions with Wayne's family about doing this. They were very touched by the amount of love and effort that we have put into this new album and they have given us their full support. Having the blessing of Wayne's family means the world to us! I know in my heart that Wayne would be very proud!
Stay tuned for more Project Regeneration and world tour details coming soon!
Finnish death metallers Torchia released a visually stunning music video for the song “Light My Path” taken from their widely acclaimed debut album “Of Curses and Grief”. The video was directed and edited by Jouni Valjakka’s (Whispered) Obliviart Productions. Edward Torchia, the vocalist and the mastermind behind the video comments the piece:
”Light My Path is about walking the final day and washing oneself in the river of death. While writing the lyrics I had a strong visual image of the story, so I really wanted to depict that in a visual form at some point. It was important for me that everything happened in water so half of the video was shot literally in a lake. The five of us have already made the passage and are beckoning the one dying to join in the abyss.”

Now made up of 7 experienced musicians each bringing their own elements to the music, Sound Storm will feature two different style of vocals both of which are quite different from the previous singers.

Chiara Tricarico - Vocals
Andrea Racco - Vocals

Swiss metal band, Maxxwell, have announced the release of their fourth album 'Metalized' on September 21, 2018. Metalized says it all - many concerts have left their mark. On the new record, the band rocks harder, catchier and a lot more edgier than on their earlier releases. The lyric video for the title track 'Metalized' will be released on June 29, 2018. The song is a homage to the band's big influences, with a bit of a wink. A video teaser can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/40vwMxI7DP4
Sometimes it takes a little longer for a work to reach completion. This is what happened with Maxxwell, who have taken a full four years to produce their fourth release, "Metalized". Thanks to the strength of the band's last album, "Tabula Rasa", they played support on tours with Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock, Doro, Kissin' Dynamite, Rage & Shakra and support slots for Within Temptation, Extreme, Gloryhammer - just to name a few. In the almost 10-year career of Maxxwell, they have performed a total of over two hundred shows.
The band is ready to conquer the stages of this world, and all signs point to a storm. The band's new self-confidence is also the completely autonomous way things are being done this time round. The band is overseeing the label, management, booking and production all in one. A tour has already been confirmed. Maxxwell will be accompanying "Threshold" on their "Legends Of The Shires" tour as a special guest. More to come soon...

Witch Mountain, who recently announced the May 25 release of their self-titled album via Svart, stream "Mechanical World" (https://soundcloud.com/nathan-carson-783351518/mechanical-world-a-spirit), a cover of Spirit's 1968 single.
"As my Spirit LP collection grew, I played this song for Rob Wrong," explains Nate Carson. "He recognized the riff because it had been sampled in the Brother Ali song, ‘Sleepwalker’. That was cool because it meant we each had a connection to the song, from different angles. We both thought 'Mechanical World' was classic, unique. So we played it for Justin and Kayla in the tour van, and they both latched onto it immediately. We especially liked hearing a woman sing these lyrics without changing the pronouns. That always freshens things up. Our arrangement is the same as the original but tuned down a few steps to make it heavier."

Death metal mavericks Taphos premiere the new track "Ocular Blackness" at heavily trafficked web-portal InvisibleOranges.com. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Come Ethereal Somberness, set for international release on June 8th via Blood Harvest Records and Helter Skelter Productions. Hear Taphos' "Ocular Blackness" in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Hot on the heels of Blood Harvest's compilation of the band's first two recordings as Demo MMXVI & 7" EP MMXVII, garnering widespread acclaim and heightening anticipation for their first full-length, at last arrives Taphos' Come Ethereal Somberness. As a debut LP, Come Ethereal Somberness does everything it should: stay consistent to a band's sound established on their demos whilst pointing toward new avenues. Here, Taphos do both, and then some.
Hailing from the same Danish scene as Undergang and Phrenelith, Taphos create a classic - and classically gutted - style of Metal of Death. Their first recording, Demo MMXVI, possessed a darkly thrashing sound highly reminiscent of turn-of-the-'90s death metal on both sides of the Atlantic, as resolutely Scandinavian as it was American, its filthy propulsion as palatably fresh as it was authentically ancient. On the subsequent two-song EP, Taphos' sound becomes more world-eating, their songwriting aims more epic whilst not losing the raw fury of their beginnings.
Now, with Come Ethereal Somberness, they synthesize the two stylistic shifts into something both berzerker and epic, manic and finessed in equal measures. Indeed, Taphos are firing on all songwriting cylinders here, as the energy literally bursts off the charts but retains a sense of composure and daresay class rarely scene in full-blooded death metal. Hammering and hideous yet nevertheless invoking a clarity that never castrates their attack, the quartet render each of these seven central compositions (bookended by moody instrumentals) a story unto itself. Hell, the titles themselves tell that story - "Ocular Blackness," "Insidious Gyres," and the equally telltale "Thrive in Upheaval" and "Impending Peril" among them - and that story is horrific.
New nightmares are here, then, and Taphos will be taking them on the road with a full European tour this month alongside Swedish comrades Degial (dates after the jump). Thus, as its title ominously proclaims, Come Ethereal Somberness! Hear the new, aforementioned track "Ocular Blackness" exclusively HERE, courtesy of InvisibleOranges.com. Hear the previously revealed (and aforementioned) "Thrive in Upheaval" and "Impending Peril" HERE at Blood Harvest's Bandcamp. Pre-order info can be found HERE.
