States the band: “‘Devil’s Tongue’ channels the Pre-enochian black magic's lost in times long past. The arcane language of hell is at the smouldering heart of this blistering track. Let the words burn bright as a beacon of insolence!"

Forged in 2012 by the guitarists Fredrik Nilsson and Kristian Roupe, black metal force Blood Of Serpents hail from the deep forests of Småland, Sweden. Spawning two mini releases and one critically acclaimed full length within the six years of existence, Blood Of Serpents are proud to present their second album, “Sulphur Sovereign”, after years of writing, line-up changes and adversity.
“Sulphur Sovereign” is the first offering to feature the drummer Christoffer Andersson and the vocalist Thomas Clifford (Throne of Heresy, Abscession). With the newly recruited assets, the band has taken a decided step into a supreme black metal direction, going at full speed with forceful vocals that rip and roar with equal measure. Mixed with dark melodic guitar works and crushing riffs, Sulphur Sovereign is a full on black metal attack interspersed with atmospheric pieces and haunting melodic parts.
Containing ten tracks of genuine Swedish black metal, Blood of Serpents are finally ready to set free the beast — known as Sulphur Sovereign — upon the world. This is a defining moment for the band who has found their true sound in the sphere of accursed black metal.
The album is produced by Lars Broddesson (ex-Marduk) and mixed and mastered by Magnus Devo Andersson (Marduk). Amazing Gustave Doré inspired artwork was executed by Khaos Diktator.
“Sulphur Sovereign” will be out worldwide on September 25, 2018 through Non Serviam Records on digipak CD and digital format.
Death metal mavericks Maligner premiere the new track "Lust for Fire" at Decibel magazine's website. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Attraction to Annihilation, set for international release on August 31st via Blood Harvest Records and Helter Skelter Productions. Hear Maligner's "Lust for Fire" in its entirety exclusively HERE.
One of the most promising hordes Blood Harvest have come across in some time, Maligner are a deathrashing power-trio hailing from the label's home town of Malmö, Sweden. To date, Maligner have a two-song digital promo released during the autumn of 2016 and then, a few months later, the five-song Demon EP, which Blood Harvest released on cassette tape and digital formats. Bolstered by the attention afforded Demon, the trio truly come into their own on Attraction to Annihilation.
For a debut album, Attraction to Annihilation is as fully formed as they come. Maligner may be only entering their third year of existence, but the attention to craft and class across this eight-song firestorm is seriously the work of veterans - but, of course, ones not yet complacent with their ideas and especially execution. Right from the very first notes of opener "Oath-bound," Maligner explode with a dazzling array of fleet-footed 'n' finesse death metal in a most late '80s mold, back when actual songwriting mattered most and bands like Death, Sadus, and Dark Angel ruled the underground. Indeed, even nomenclature like "deathrash" didn't really exist; it was simply all METAL, just darker and more deathly than what the aboveground was proffering. But, Maligner are no mere retro retread: their compositional prowess is in a league of its own, and their attention to the finer details of aggression bespeaks a maturity that thankfully isn't neutering. In fact, the longer this 31-minute maelstrom rolls on, the more dizzying it becomes, possessing both body and spirit in a grand celebration of destruction and death.
Try as you may, there's just no denying Maligner's Attraction to Annihilation! Swedish Melodic Folk-Death Metal act Evilon are pleased to announce that they have signed with WormHoleDeath for the release of their debut album "Leviathan".
"Leviathan" will be out on 28 September 2018 via Wormholedeath / Aural Music Group / The Orchard.
The band was created in 2015 by Kenneth Evstrand and Jonny Sjödin. In the beginning the musicstyle was Melodic Death Metal in the style of At The Gates, Amon Amarth and In Flames among others. During 2016 the music evolved and is now inspired by Celtic and Nordic folk music with a lot of heavy riffs and capturing melodies. We found our bassplayer and our lead/growler early on, it then took some time before the band was complete but in August 2016 we finally found a drummer that met our requirements and we could really start our journey. During the winter of 2016 Evilon recorded its first EP called "Shores Of Evilon".
It contains five songs written in 2016. The EP was recorded independently by Evilon and it was mixed and mastered by Big Balls Productions. It was then released in January 2017 on Spotify, Itunes, Google Play, YouTube and Soundcloud. In June 2017, the recordings for a full length album began. Now, one year later it's finished and the name is "Leviathan". The album contains ten new songs, full of great melodies, awesome vocals and heavy riffs! In February 2018 we signed a worldwide distribution contract with the Italian record label Wormholedeath Records for the release of the album Leviathan. The album will be released the 28th of September in Europe, USA and Japan.
Cypher16 have begun recording their second album at Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden. The record (as-yet untitled) will be produced by Jakob Herrmann (Anthrax, Machine Head etc) and mixed by Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe, Volbeat etc) in Denmark.
'We've been having a lot of fun trying to make a record that is heavy, but which steps away from the traditional 'heavy rock/metal' sound and style that we feel has caused the genre to stagnate in recent years. We're turning down the gain, but turning up the attitude, and we'll be interested in what the reaction is to a very heavy album with a difference!'
The first single 'Push Through The Water' is due for release at the end of August.
Signed lyric sheets and other items from the recording session are available to buy from the band's merchandise store here. All proceeds go towards the album production costs.
Sweden's Axis Of Despair premiere "Lockdown" via Metal Injection; debut album "Contempt For Man Debut" out soon
Metal Injection is hosting a premiere of "Lockdown," the new single by Swedish grindcore kingpins Axis Of Despair. The band - formed by current and former members of Nasum, Coldworker, Infanticide, Volturyon, Livet Som Insats, Nervgift, Overtorture, and more - is preparing for their Contempt For Man debut full-length to see release through Southern Lord at the end of July.
Contempt For Man dispatches twenty super-charged tracks of Axis Of Despair's brutalizing but hook-laden grindcore attack. The album surges with blasting percussion delivered with savage force, yet every hit finding its target with pinpoint accuracy. The blazing riffs leave charred scars in their path, while lyrically the band unloads their noncompliance with humanity's declining ways.
Of "Lockdown" the band offers:-
"While the title is a nod to fellow grinders Lock-Up, the music centres around an idea of doing a chorus riff with clear notes that moves around, thus creating a hook that makes 'Lockdown' stand out on the album. This is a quite good slice of Axis Of Despair's type of grindcore: while 'Lockdown' has its share of drive and aggression, it also has catchiness and a certain groove that we really like."
Experience Axis Of Despair's "Lockdown" at Metal Injection RIGHT HERE.
Contempt For Man was recorded by drummer Anders Jakobson at Soundlab Studios and in the band's rehearsal room Summer 2017, mixed at Studio Ülgnor by Johan Berglund, and is completed with artwork by Paul Romano (Mastodon, Circle, Hate Eternal).
Southern Lord will release Contempt For Man on LP, CD, and digital formats July 27th; find pre-orders at the label webshop HERE and at Bandcamp where the tracks "A Life Of Ceaseless Grind," "Crush The Empire," and "The Wolven Law" are streaming HERE.
Axis Of Despair will perform at Obscene Extreme 2018 in Czech Republic on July 19th with more live actions to follow. Watch for additional tour dates, audio samples, and further album updates in the weeks ahead.
Axis Of Despair was formed in late 2013 by former Coldworker members Joel Fornbrant (vocals), Oskar Pålsson (bass), and Anders Jakobson (drums). The lineup was completed by guitarist Kristofer Jankarls (also in Livet Som Insats) a few months later and the quartet focused on songwriting. The first recording took place in the spring of 2015 and the twelve tracks were released on the two 7" EPs -- Time And Again, released via Selfmadegod Records, and Mankind Crawls, a co-release through Give Praise Records and Spela Snabbare Records. Following both EPs and several live shows, Axis Of Despair set to work on new material, striving to create a striking grindcore album with an aggressive, yet diverse selection of strong songs. The writing process was spread out over a year until the band went into the studio and begun the recordings in the summer of 2017, now set to arrive in the form of their debut album, Contempt For Man.

Sweden's Wormlight drop debut album “Wrath of the Wilds” via Black Lion Records; album streaming at Decibel Magazine
Swedish melodic black metal entity Wormlight has unleashed the debut album “Wrath of the Wilds” through Black Lion Records.
Stream the full album over at Decibel Magazine RIGHT HERE
Hailing from Umeå, Sweden, melodic black metal entity Wormlight was formed in 2014 under the moniker Unhallowed by King Antichrist (Drums) and Deafeathered (Guitar). Soon, Lator Mortis (Guitar) joined them, and they released their first EP "An Ancient Enemy" the same year. Shortly after the release, Arktos joined the band on Bass.
2015 saw lots of changes in the line-up, Deafeathered left the band and the band reached out to Tiamat Invictuz who joined the band in time for the recording of the "Bloodfields" EP. After the recording of the EP, Nordlyst left the band and Tiamat Invictuz took the duty of the vocals as well as guitar. At the same time, the band changed its name to Wormlight and changed the lyrical themes. In 2016, Wormlight re-released the EP “Bloodfields” via Black Lion Records, adding two bonus tracks with Tiamat’s vocals. The EP gave listeners a glimpse of what to expect from these northern warriors.
Forthcoming debut album “Wrath Of The Wilds” in an onward movement; it doesn’t only hark back to the spirit of the mid-90s Scandinavian black metal era, but also flourishes the spirit with the meticulously structured songs, and thus demands exaltation. Nine icy atmospheric tracks (including one intro), backed by spellbinding melodic solos, abundance of fast tremolo pickings, energetic hellfire invoking blasts and tenebrous shrieks intertwined with mid-ranged death growls. The cold and the deep atmosphere of the album is capable to ensure a dense and terrifying journey.
Album is out via Black Lions Records on digipak (CD) and digitally from April 25, 2018.
Tiamat Invictuz – Vocals/Guitars
Lator Mortis –Guitars
Lord Arktos –Bass
King Antichrist –Drums
