MetalSucks has premiered "The Reprisal Within," a new song from Stygian, the highly anticipated new album from Italian Death Metal / Deathcore stalwarts The Modern Age Slavery. Visit the link that follows and embrace the punishment.
Innerstrength Records will release Stygian on November 24. Pre-orders are available at:
Coming almost four years since the release of critically acclaimed 2013 release Requiem for Us All (Pavement), the level-jumping blast of intensity on the band's Innerstrength debut is the result of miles logged and the already dynamic songwriting honed to a fine point.
The band has released the following statement about the new album:
"With this new album we tried to make another step forward in the evolution of our sound: what you'll hear it's a quite obscure atmosphere delivering a sullen and evil experience, yet keeping the heaviness of the death metal matrix that marked our music in the previous albums. The lyrics are all inspired by a common theme, from which the name "Stygian" and the correlated artwork come from, discussing the questionable matter of the human evolution leading men to a slow but inevitable mutation into a being that lost his mind and compassion devoured by greediness and will to power. All the pieces of the puzzle are perfectly pondered to create an album made of passion, of anger, and real emotions. This is the The Modern Age's album!"
Formed in 2007, The Modern Age Slavery (TMAS) rapidly gained unanimous critical acclaim from the international press receiving the "Demo of the Month" award in Rock Hard Germany. The release of the debut album 'Damned to Blindness' via Napalm Records in 2008 delivered an aggressive sound made of grinding blast beats, merciless brutal vocals and slaughtering rapid fire double bass patterns.
Thanks to positive audience and press response, TMAS extensively toured around Europe both as headliners and as support act, like joining the "Evisceration Plague Tour" featuring Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus & Obscura and the "Doomsday X Tour" featuring Malevolent Creation and Vomitory. The band also appeared on shows with Fleshgod Apocalypse, Sepultura, Decapitated, Suicide Silence and many more.
The release of the second album Requiem For Us All via Pavement Entertainment in 2013 pushed their death metal war machine one step forward again, this time with a fierce mix of blazingly fast drumming, technical riffing, epic atmospheres, and crushing groove. Nominated best metal album of 2013 by Axl Rosenberg at metalsucks.net, it brought the band on tour again with bands as Gorgoroth, Vital Remains, Hypocrisy, plus many gigs on the national soil.
In the middle of 2016 there was a line-up change, one guitar player and the drummer were permanently substituted by already known names of the Italian underground metal scene. After some concerts testing the new members TMAS started writing material for the new album, yet never stopping the live activity as testified by the Ukrainian tour in February 2017 and the co-headlining gig with Ingested at Metalcon Festival in The Hague in May. Two months later eight songs were ready so the band entered the studio and finished all the recordings in July. The end of the year 2017 will see the return of the deathsters on the market with powerful, violent and intense riffing, and atmosphere

Unseen Faith delivers dark and brutal deathcore in an atmospheric universe, and they’re now ready with their debut album “Waver” – a power demonstration with compositions that move from neck breaking breakdowns to exalted musical breathing halts.Their 2nd single from the upcoming full-length is called 'Lost World', and you can listen to it right here:
The title of the album, "Waver", expresses the wavering feeling of being a religious person, who tries to hold on to his faith, in the midst of a modern and hectic society. The belief in something bigger is rarely something which is spoken about, even though most people still relate to it. Unseen Faith's spiritual and religious approach this genre of music is quite unique.
“Waver” will be released on August 25, 2017, through Prime Collective. The release will be followed by a Danish tour and European dates.

'Beast', the new album from Montreal based deathcore pioneers, Despised Icon, was released yesterday via Nuclear Blast Records! To coincide with the band's first release since 2009's 'Day Of Mourning', Despised Icon have released a full band performance of the track 'Inner Demons'.
'Beast' was produced and engineered by former guitarist Yannick St-Amand (Beneath The Massacre, Neuraxis) and mixed / mastered by Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Opeth, Nevermore). Artwork was created by Alexandre Goulet.
For many extreme music fans, it may be hard to remember a time before DESPISED ICON, given the massive influence they’ve subsequently had on the genre. But when the group formed back in 2002 and released 'Consumed by Your Poison' the same year, there was little intersection between the sounds of classic death metal and the brute force of hardcore. But DESPISED ICON were among the first to fully embrace the signatures of the traditional death metal formula combined with a relentless embrace of breakdowns, part of an emerging new sound.
Now DESPISED ICON have returned with their upcoming album entitled 'Beast'. The genre-defining band is fully reawakened, poised to recapture the crown with the monstrous and merciless might of their potent expression. Featuring the men responsible for most of the band’s now classic death metal catalogue, 'Beast' is a vicious commentary on the state of the world and the state of music itself.

Phoenix, Arizona metal band The World To Come has premiered their music video for their song "Scribe Of Thoth" exclusively through New Fury Media. To view this music video, check out HERE. The song is from the band's recently announced upcoming new album The Cartesian which will be released September 30th, 2016 via Famined Records.
Formed in 2011 by guitarist Shane Griffin, The World to Come is a band formed around the creative idea of exploring the music aesthetic. Creating a sense of ambiance and emotion to accompany the overall ideal of any deathcore band. Starting off amidst the plethora of hardcore music talent within the Phoenix metro area, The World To Come eventually morphed into its own entity. Taking each members unique love for atmospheric music and creating a new blend of heavy hitting, and thought provoking progressive metal.
The Browning could very well be heavy music's answer to the Terminator. Whereas everybody's favourite Arnold Schwarzenegger cyborg hid an exoskeleton under a sheath of skin, the Kansas City quartet—Jonny [vocals, electronics], Cody [drums], Brian [guitar], and Rick [bass]— thinly veil a hard rock edge beneath a casing of skittering electronic dance music, hip-hop grime, metallic brutality, and industrial expanse. That signature style is "back" in a big way on "Isolation", their third full-length album and first for Spinefarm Records.
"Isolation" arrives on June 24 and it's The Browning's most ambitious offering to date.
"Over the course of the last three years, rock music is primarily all I've listened to,” Jonny explains. "I've been ingesting bands like Rammstein, Disturbed, and Three Days Grace. My writing swung towards that. I knew this album was going to have more of a rock vibe. Obviously, there's still metal, but the scope has expanded. The electronics remain a big part of it. Since day one, the whole point was to not only be the heaviest electronic band, but the band with by far the most electronics."
He furthered, "Isolation is by far the best album The Browning has done yet. It has everything I wanted in it and nothing is missing. It shows how the band has progressed and matured since our last release. So I cannot wait for the world to hear it."
