The Shadeless Emperor is a five piece Epic / Melodic Death metal band originating from Larissa Greece, officially formed in early 2010. Due to many unfortunate circumstances, the band was inactive until late 2012, were they started the recordings for their Demo under the name “Homeland”, which was self-released on January 2013.
The band’s main lyrical themes are inspired by fantasy, literature, mythology and philosophy. The Shadeless Emperor shared the stage all around Greece with bands such as Wolfheart, Jinjer, Kin Beneath Chorus, Bewized, Among Ruins to mention a few.
In 2014 The Shadeless Emperor also self-released an 8-bit version of their Demo “Homeland”. When their line-up was finally complete, the band started the recordings of their Debut Album, named “Ashbled Shores”. The recordings took place at “Fabric Studios” on August 2015, and they also self-released their first Lyric Video of their song “Sullen Guard” on June 2016.
The Mixing phase of the album took place at “Anirok Studios” in Kefalonia Greece by sound engineer and bassist of the band, Filippos Salapatas whilst the Mastering phase took place in Athens, Greece by “Steve Lado”, guitarist of Tardive Dyskinesia.
Greek metal / rock band, Raw In Sect, have released a new and crazy music video for 'Therion'. The song is taken from the upcoming third album 'Kitro', to be out in September. The video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/GqwHHW76LTY
Filmed in London's Black Island studios by director Peter Lee Scott, the band says the video is mean to reflect the transformation into Therion, which is to "find inner power in a primitive way getting in touch with your instincts."
The song's unique blend of traditional Greek music with rock 'n' roll is, according to RAW IN SECT, meant to "redefine what aggressive/rock music is through a totally different approach than the one that has been known in the music scene.
"Really though, it's about doing something new and artistic instead of repeating the same old patterns of established bands in hopes of securing a career in a declining music industry. Changing the language of the lyrics in Greek, recording live, and not setting on the sound of previous records that was somewhat accepted, are among the risks we took willingly in order to express something new and reach wider audiences."
Raw In Sect is a Greek metal / rock act that has released two full length albums, “Red Flows” (2011) and “Blue Haze” (2014). Possessed by a diverse, surprising and totally unique sound as described by many, the quartet has done several tours performing all over Europe which has gained them a loyal fan base as well as recognition as one of the most deserving bands to rise from the underground.
When the “Red Flows” touring era ended, they went on to record “Blue Haze” and mixed it with nominated Grammy award producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Caspian, Pearl Jam). RAW IN SECT presented a 7 minute animation epic for the self titled song which was praised by fans and members of artistic communities. The release of Blue Haze was followed by a very long touring schedule which included over 150 concerts in venues and festivals almost in every corner of Europe.
2017 finds Raw In Sect preparing to release their new album “Kitro” among other activities. Having performed parts of it in various audiences, people speak of a band that is expected to shake and redefine the sound of the global metal/rock scene.
“Calvin: If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I’ll bet they’d live a lot differently.
Hobbes: How so?
Calvin: Well, when you look into infinity, you realize that there are more important things than what people do all day.”
This quote from Bill Watterson’s iconic comic strip “Calvin and Hobbes”, resumes accurately Dephosphorus’ intentions.
With 6 vinyl releases spanning from 2011 to 2015, the Athenians are embarked on a cosmic quest. Their concept and aesthetics draw influences from cosmology, astronomy and science fiction literature, as well as the associated sociopolitical and existential repercussions.
Being impossible to describe their music style by using one or two genre references, they have chosen to call it “astrogrind”.
“Impossible Orbits” is Dephosphorus’ 3rd album and their darker and more violent effort to date – both musically and lyrically. Its 9 tracks clocking at under 30’, see them return to a more condensed form of expression, not unlike their critically acclaimed “Axiom” debut mini-LP.
The similarities with the latter do not stop there, as Panos Alexiadis is again on board handling the live electronics and putting an extra eerie touch to the record’s atmosphere.
Check out the first excerpt, “Rational Reappraisal”, which can be streamed at Selfmadegod Records SoundCloud or YouTube channel, as well as Dephosphorus’ Bandcamp page.
“Impossible Orbits” has been recorded and mixed analogically at Unreal Studios. The artwork has been hand drawn by Viral Graphics.
Notorious grindcore label from Poland, Selfmadegod Records, will release CD and cassette version on June 15th 2017. Digital copies will be available directly though the band’s Bandcamp page. A vinyl edition will follow later this year.

Iron Bonehead Productions sets April 28th as the international release date for Cult of Eibon's debut mini-album, Lycan Twilight Sorcery, on CD and 12" vinyl formats. Long-time supporters of the particular scene, in recent times, Iron Bonehead has heralded the classic Greek black metal sound with exceptionally potent new albums by Kawir and Disharmony, as well as celebrated EPs by ancient-minded newcomers Ithaqua and a recent split mini-album by like-minded classicists Funeral Storm and Celestial Rite. But with Lycan Twilight Sorcery, the label raises the banner yet again and unveils the timeless magick of Cult of Eibon.
Just last year, Cult of Eibon were introduced with a teasingly short and super-limited debut EP titled Fullmoon Invocation. Indeed, it was aptly named, as the Greek duo's black metal was of a mesmerizingly mystical hue and its foundation was firmly - and, more importantly, authentically - rooted in their homeland's enduringly unique idiom of ancient darkness. Here, with the longer 'n' stronger Lycan Twilight Sorcery, Cult of Eibon brew a heady, hazy potion that pulses with that same addicting, ageless black magick that made the early works of Rotting Christ and Varathron massively influential in Greece and far beyond. But, as with anything worth its while, from replication comes reckoning: immediately identifiable as "the classic Greek sound" they may be, Cult of Eibon nevertheless possess a bewitching, almost-(were)wolven identity all their own, and prove it across the mini-album's six central tracks. It's startlingly familiar, but also startlingly awe-inspiring; there's certainly sorcery at hand here. Behold the Lycan Twilight Sorcery and follow the Cult of Eibon into forgotten realms! Take the first step with the track "The Dweller of the Woods" at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud HERE.
Greek post-sludge formation Allochiria premiere the new video "Lifespotting" at slow 'n' low authority The Sludgelord. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated second album, Throes, set for international release on March 17th via Art of Propaganda. See/hear Allochiria's "Lifespotting" video exclusively HERE.
Allochiria were formed in 2008 in Athens, Greece, and released a self-titled EP in 2010. In January 2014, they released their first full-length album, Omonoia. But in December 2016, Allochiria joined forces with Art of Propaganda for the release of the band’s second album, Throes. Having shared the stage with Deafheaven, Year of No Light, Altar of Plagues, and many more, as well as undertaking their first European tour in March 2015, Allochiria's live experience becomes readily apparent across the vast expanses of Throes. Although their music has often been likened to Neurosis, ISIS, Amenra, and Cult of Luna, Allochiria assert their own identity in the post-sludge realm with their deep exploration of very human themes. With Throes, its theme explores man as a social being, the corruption that defines him in modern societies, his vain struggles, painful routine, and the effect this has in the world around him.
In that regard, Throes retains the same concept as Omonoia, which has man in its main area of interest. But this time, Allochiria's pursuit of that concept is angrier and more direct, making for an even more intense listen. Speaking directly to mankind, Throes expresses anger, pain, and agony in a higher degree; living beings are being killed, drowned, destroyed, and left helpless, and the rest either cause this or witness it. We mourn a little bit, and then go on with our lives - we are hopeless and weak. This is Throes, and Allochiria are guiding its maelstrom. Go deeper into that maelstrom with the video for "Lifespotting" exclusively HERE, courtesy of The Sludgelord webzine. Take the first step into that maelstrom with "Counting Fives," which can be heard exclusively HERE.
