German black metal cult Entartung has revealed a new lyric video for "Black Dog of God" at W.T.C. Productions' YouTube channel. The track hails from the band's highly anticipated third album, Baptised into the Faith of Lust, set for international release on March 16th via W.T.C. Productions. A work of timeless black metal traditionalism given flight by flawless songwriting and emotive execution, Baptised into the Faith of Lust is THE album where Entartung ascend the throne and rule over all they survey, in a kingdom where the genre's aesthetics have become diluted by modernity (or worse) but one which will be righted by their righteous conviction. Hear/see Entartung's "Black Dog of God" exclusively HERE.
Entartung was founded in 2011 by Lykormas and Vulfolaic. As veterans of the old-school black metal scene, they set out to make music true to the original vibe of the genre, void of commercialism and modern trends. The duo skipped the usual demo phase and independently wrote and recorded their debut album, Krypteia. Entartung immediately got signed by W.T.C. Productions, who released Krypteia in the spring of 2012 on compact disc.
One year later, Entartung started writing and recording their sophomore album. The internal tensions and conflicts that arose during this process were successfully channelled into violent and aggressive renditions of the actual material. Contrary to the previous album, which exclusively featured German lyrics, Peccata Mortalia predominantly focuses on English as the main language. Peccata Mortalia was again released by World Terror Committee in May 2014, this time on both compact disc and vinyl. Simultaneously, Krypteia also saw a vinyl release.
In late 2014, Entartung was invited to play an exclusive show at the 2015 edition of the Veneration of the Dead festival in the Netherlands. For the purpose of this festival, Entartung recruited skinsman Haistulf and started working on a set consisting of both Krypteia and Peccata Mortalia material.
Continuing as a three-piece, Entartung then recorded their third album, Baptised into the Faith of Lust, throughout the winter of 2015-2016. The new compositions build further upon the style which was established on both Krypteia and Peccata Mortalia and successfully push the boundaries of the genre, focusing on both feel and detail as well as atmosphere and aggression. Lyrically, Baptised into the Faith of Lust explores the more obscure side of history, religious mass delusions, and the writings of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Selma Lagerlöf, Charles Baudelaire, and Hermann Löns.
Baptised into the Faith of Lust was mixed by Entartung and was subsequently mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple of Disharmony. Once again, the band entrusts World Terror Committee with the release of the third Entartung opus, both on compact disc and vinyl. The album's artwork is a twisted and bizarre take on orthodox iconography, further elucidated by its musical/lyrical contents. Become Baptised into the Faith of Lust with Entartung! First baptism begins HERE at W.T.C. Productions' Youtube channel.
Belgian modern melodic death metallers Hexa Mera have unleashed a lyric video for the song 'Inhuman', taken from their second full-length album, "Enlightenment", which will be released on March 31st. The song is streaming on Terrorizer via the link below.
The band has the following to say about 'Inhuman': "Inhuman stands for all the messed up things we've done. Ironically, humanity is the most inhuman thing there is. Every single day various channels remind us of a simple truth: violence is everywhere, and violence doesn't sleep. We wanted to write a song to condemn all of this. Writing the lyrics was easy, finding footage of our species’ disbehavior even more so. But selecting the scenes wasn’t. We watched hours of messed up footage. We had to take breaks because it became too much. We were totally overwhelmed. In the end we became immune to the gore, the sick and our own moral barriers. Management stepped in because we were taking it too far. The video didn’t need all the blood and explicit imagery to deliver the message, it had to be clear without going overboard. We didn’t create this one to enjoy, we created it to open your eyes and face humanity’s inhumanity. That’s what this track is about."
The album was recorded at Empyrean Studio, mixed at OceanSide Studio by Ace Zec (Spoil Engine, Diablo Blvd,..) and mastered at Fascination Street Studios By Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Opeth, Soilwork,..).
The artwork of Hexa Mera's follow-up to 2014’s “Human Entropy” was created by Colin Marks from Rain Song Design (Sylosis, Threat Signal, Scar Symmetry,..)
The band has the following to say about "Enlightenment": "The idea to use the age of enlightenment as theme for this album was forged right after we released our debut album ‘Human Entropy’. The world was and still is spinning out of control: Extremists became a larger threat to our civilization, human and animal rights are being violated, political correctness is censoring the truth, media focusing on sales instead of news value, and so much more… the world never was an utopia place, but with the information we got, it seemed to become worse. We felt fear, disappointment, but most of all, we felt anger. Because we felt powerless, the only thing we could do was to speak out, and this is exactly what this album is about."
The official ‘Enlightenment’ release-show will take place on April 1st at the renowned ‘Nijdrop’ venue in Opwijk, Belgium. More information can be found here.

Scottish avant-garde blackened metal band Ashenspire have teamed up with Heavy Blog is Heavy to reveal their lyric video for "Restless Giants". The video features images of Glasgow while the harrowing track plays in the background. The track is taken from their new album Speak Not of the Laudanum Quandary which will be released on January 20th.
The band commented: "Drawing particularly relevant parallels to scenes of today, Restless Giants is an observation focusing on the displaced, or refugees. Scottish history is no stranger to this concept (the Highland Clearances come to mind) but the uprooting and vilification of common peoples has long been a tool used by oppressors and imperialists the world over to justify subjugation and indifference. We leave the listener to draw their own conclusions on the associated images."
