Having been reported recently that melodic death metallers Bloodshot Dawn had entered the studio to begin work on their third full length album, entitled Renanimation; an album that is also set to feature prominent guests including Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore), Paul Wardingham, Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams, The Faceless), Mendel Bij De Leij (Aborted). Today the band are pleased to reveal the album is set to see the light on 12th January 2018 and will be released via Hostile Media.
Since their acclaimed self-titled and second album Demons, there has been shifts in the bands ranks making way for new members, Canadian shredder Morgan Reid, drummer James Stewart (also of Vader and Divine Chaos) and bass player Giacomo Gastaldi.
Frontman and last founding member Josh McMorran reflects on the losing all members from the Demons line up as a huge shock to the system:-
"I had to take sometime to think about how to move forward with the bands sound and honestly thinking wasn't what was needed. When Morgan joined the band he worked tirelessly on riffs and ideas for songs which I sculptured into my design and feel for how I thought the album should flow. We met up over a two week period and turned hundreds of ideas into ten tracks very naturally. The general feeling is that we now for the first time have a solid direction and process, we work as a unit instead of separate solo efforts within the band."
"We recorded guitars and drums in the east of Germany and Czech simply because that's where Morgan and James are based. The studio in Czech, Babylon Studios, had an incredible drum room which was a huge selling point to this studio. We recorded guitars at Morgans home studio, which follows a similar process to our previous records. After that we headed for Sweden to work with Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry) for final guitar pieces, additional layers, mixing and mastering. Per is a good friend and an extraordinary musician and his ear and eye for the big picture has helped us create Renanimation and pushed us to evolve our sound in a very natural way."
"As for the stories within the album, a lot of it is ambiguous, regarding personal struggles, as well as observations on modern day society. But as with all Bloodshot Dawn records the lyrics aren't always as clear cut and it's the sci-fi artwork that really tells the cover story so to speak. We worked with a good friend Chris Kewli who is a concept artist with an incredibly creative mind. The artwork is the third part of a trilogy of art continuing and finishing the concept that started with the first two Bloodshot Dawn albums. The front cover pictures an alien approaching a war torn earth who's coming to clean up the planet of human life and refresh the earth back to its former glory! The art unfolds further through the inlays of the CD."
As well as the news of an imminent new release the band will be on tour throughout UK/Ireland tour, their first in almost 2 years! "We are excited to be hitting the tour circuit again after a short hiatus. We are hungry for live devastation and looking forward to seeing fans old and new!"

Imminence Records'' Melbourne based melodic death metal outfit Aetherial is pleased to unleash their new single. The track, entitled "The Fallen Will Mark The Way," is the lead single on the band's debut album The Still Waters of Oblivion. The twelve track album will be released November 10th on Truth Inc. Records (Oceania and parts of Asia) and Imminence Records (rest of the world).
""The Fallen Will Mark the Way" is about the persistence and resilience that’s required to follow your destiny. It's a song about always moving forward whilst letting go of the past. With the lyric video we wanted to stick with similar themes from the album artwork. There’s also a lot of inspiration from the trees in ‘The Evil Dead’ - which definitely works on a number of levels.” - Shep Sheppard (Vocalist)
Brutally fierce, crushing and relentless, Aetherial forge a uniquely dark and devastating sound. Combining elements of melodic death and traditional metal, formidable vocals, intense guitar riffs and epic harmonies define this brutal act from Melbourne, Australia. Lyrically, Aetherial explores the darkest recesses of the soul; exposing what is lurking behind the false reality of everyday life. The stark look beyond the restraints of social and cultural boundaries examine forces surrounding and influencing the human condition.
Aetherial’s music and commanding presence on stage attracted the attention of New York based Extreme Management Group Inc. which lead to inking a worldwide management deal and solidifying Aetherial on a roster alongside heavyweights Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Cryptopsy, Origin and fellow Australians King Parrot. The partnership is poised to bring their soul capturing strain of Melodic Death across the world.
Aetherial soon after inked a dual label deal with American based Imminence Records and Australian record label, Truth Inc.. The highly anticipated 12-track debut album The Still Waters of Oblivion was recorded, mixed, and mastered in Melbourne at Everland Productions by Oresti Salter. The Artwork, which was done by German artist Patrick Wittstock visualizes the aural ingenuity of the band through intensely dark visual concepts.

Amplified Memory are primed and ready for the release of their forthcoming album Vas Hermeticum. The German prog rockers have worked long and hard on Vas Hermeticum and feel they have put together their best recorded work yet, pushing and embellishing on their already wide-ranging and complex style. Dreams, recurring patterns, reminiscences, desires, the question about reality or simply the longing for the vast, undiscovered universe. These are the focus of German group Amplified Memory, who have been working on their own musical conception of melodic death metal since 2008. Regardless of whether the songs are doom/black metal ballads, stomping mid-tempo beasts or fast death metal, Amplified Memory stand for an innovative mixture of different metal sub-genres with a focus on 90’s melodic death metal.
Here’s the album description in the bands own words;
“The psyche of a person can metaphorically be understood as a hermetically sealed alchemic glass vessel – a ‘vas hermeticum’ – in which the condensation processes resemble the human ability to intellectualize (sublimate) and then realize (concretize) psychic content, therefore to reflect on it. Alchemists called this procedure inside this symbolic cosmic uterus ‘solve et coagula’. Amplified Memory’s highly conceptual album Vas Hermeticum deals with the philosophical nature of dream and reality. On nine energetic, emotional, captivating songs and a hypnotically beautiful intro track they explore the world of hallucinations, near-death experiences and oneiric states as well as the questions for self-perception and the separation of those realms from what we call reality.”
Vas Hermeticum | Released October 20th, 2017 on Sliptrick Records
Amplified Memory are:
Wolfgang Paulini – Vocals
Christoph Lamprecht – Guitar
Eley Ellmer – Guitar
Felix Indra – Drums
Michael Bichler-Thal – Bass
Simon Bodesheim – Keyboard and Piano

Spanish death metallers Bloodhunter stream the entirety of their highly anticipated second album, The End of Faith, at heavily trafficked web-portal InvisibleOranges.com. Set for international release on October 16th through Xtreem Music, hear Bloodhunter's The End of Faith in its entirety exclusively HERE.
Formed back in 2008, Bloodhunter is one of Spain's leading death metal forces. Led by virtuoso guitarist Fenris and vocalist Diva Satanica, the band released their debut album, Bloodhunter, back in 2014, where they started to create a solid fan-base around the country thanks to their strong live performances and high-quality death metal with a melodic & brutal edge.
Bloodhunter have now finished recording their second album, The End of Faith, whose line-up is completed with bassist Éadrom and magnificent session drummer Marcelo Aires. The result is fantastic and will definitely put Bloodhunter on the map as a force to reckon. Just imagine if Arch Enemy would play death metal - yes, death metal, not aggressive modern heavy metal - with a much more brutal approach.

Turkish metallers Pitch Black Process (aka PBP) released their debut album “One Reality” in 2003, and now, nearly 15 years later, the band's first ever official video "I Hate You", taken from the debut album, gets today its premiering online.
Watch "I hate You" here: https://youtu.be/Qd4x6PdTeYo
Comments the band:
"Here it is; our very first official video, “I Hate You”, which is taken from our debut album “One Reality” released in 2003. Some very old vaults opened and the video has surfaced for the first time in almost 15 years since the release of the album. It is more than ten years since even we last saw it. So, we hope you will enjoy it!"
Pitch Black Process frontman Emrah Demirel adds:
"It may seem strange that we have unleashed this old video now, but even though the sound is not so good, the music is not so "original" and the production isn't good either, but we wanted to post this video anyway. Lets call it "the progress of these last 15 years"! This is what we were and where we came from."

Pitch Black Process (formerly known as Affliction) was formed in 1999. Their first two albums “One Reality” (out in May 2003) and “Execution is Necessary” (released in July 2007) got very good response nationwide and also from abroad. In November 2009 they hit the road for their first European tour playing over 20 gigs (being the longest tour which any Turkish band had ever made abroad until then), followed up by the 18-shows European tour with Warbringrt, in February 2010.
Before the tour with Warbringer, Pitch Black Process signed a sponsorship deal with one of the most well-known guitar companies in the world, PRS, which was another ‘debut’ for Turkey. None of any Turkish bands had signed a sponsorship agreement with such a big brand in music industry. The 3rd album “Hand of God?” was produced by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork, etc) at Dugout Studios, came out in June 2013.
In September 2013, Pitch Black Process played on main stage at the 82nd Izmir International Fair, being the first ever metal band to play on the fair’s history. In 2015, Pitch Black Process became part of EVH and Fender. In November 2015 the band returned to Dugout Studios to record their 4th album, “Derin” which was released in December 2016, in Turkey on Atlantis Yapim / EMP Label Group and on Ellefson Music Productions / SPV in Europe. San Francisco's Light This City have just announced the band's recent reactivation, as the outfit reunites to record their first new LP in a decade.
Light This City will enter Castle Ultimate Studios with Zack Ohren to record their fifth full-length LP in December.
Vocalist Laura Nichol states, "Performing and writing with Light This City has never stopped being fun. Now that I have the perspective from a guitarist/vocalist standpoint, I love to be able to switch it up and engage an audience with the freedom of only my voice, words, and a microphone in my hand. The personality that Light This City's music and influences draw out of me is something that I really enjoy exploring and embodying. While Heartsounds feels like an exhilarating challenge every time I step onstage, when I'm in front of an audience with Light This City, I always feel at home. I don't know if I could have both of those feelings with one band, but luckily, I have two to round it out!"
Drummer Ben Murray explains, "I think I can speak for all five of us when I say that we couldn't me more excited to resurrect Light This City, finish this upcoming fifth album of ours, and get back out there to shred some new and old songs for all ya' headbangers out there! We are eight tracks into this record and it tops anything we've ever released, by far. Thank you for waiting ten years; we'll see you all soon!"
Murray's own Creator-Destructor Records will be releasing the album in March of 2018; stand by for further updates to be released in the coming months.
Light This City began in 2002 when best friends, Laura Nichol and Ben Murray, decided to start a melodic death metal project in the vein of At the Gates, Carcass, In Flames, and the other Scandinavian bands that inspired them to play fast, melodic, crushing music, largely untouched by the American population of metalcore, deathcore, and numerous other subgenres of heavy metal that were ignoring the monstrous influences of the '90s. After the sparks were lit, the two soon wrote their debut 2003 full-length, The Hero Cycle, which quickly landed them a deal with Prosthetic Records, who would go on to release the band's following three albums.
As Murray and Nichol neared the end of high-school, Light This City released 2005's Remains Of The Gods, which sparked the rest of Light This City's trajectory on Prosthetic Records, and saw the band touring heavily in support of their Bay Area brand of melodic-death metal infused thrash. Remains Of The Gods gained favourable reviews and it seemed as if the metal press knew what was in store for the band.
Light This City released their 2006 follow-up, Facing The Thousand, undeniably their most popular album. By 2006, Nichol and Murray were out of high-school, on the road full-time, with a full band in tow, with Steve Hoffman on guitar, Ryan "Hollywood" Hansen on lead guitar, and Jon Frost on bass. Facing The Thousand saw the band on the road in support of a multitude of metal acts such as Death Angel, Vader, Malevolent Creation, Edguy, Into Eternity, All That Remains, Chimaira, Soilent Green, Darkest Hour, Suicide Silence, Misery Signals, and many more, gaining the band a rapid exposure into the metal mainstream.
After a three-year touring cycle on Facing The Thousand, the band retreated to Oakland to record their fourth album, Stormchaser, which saw a guest vocal appearance by Chuck Billy of Testament. Before the official release of the album, Light This City disbanded before even having the chance to tour on their fourth and final effort.
In 2010, Light This City played five final shows, the short tour titled The Final Thrash Attack, in which the band could celebrate the songs of Stormchaser, and give the fans a bit of closure that they never received with the band's sudden disappearance. In September of 2015, Darkest Hour requested that Light This City play the San Francisco date of their 20th anniversary tour. The band quickly reunited within a few months to rehearse one final set that would celebrate the band's four-album career. The show was absolutely one for the books, sparking the flame which lead the band to reunite.
LIGHT THIS CITY:

Ben Murray - Drums
