Caverna Abismal Records have set September 4th as the international release date for Praise the Flame's momentous debut album, Manifest Rebellion, on cassette tape format.
Originally released in 2015 on CD, Manifest Rebellion continued Praise the Flame's dominance of the underground scene after their critically acclaimed Profane Cult EP in 2013. A three-headed malefic ensemble from Chile, Praise the Flame suitably invoke an uncompromising brand of death metal that's primal, violent, sinister, and heinous, whipping forth a whirlwind of vengeance-drenched decibels with no shortage of power to spare. Ever aptly titled, Manifest Rebellion is the band's most potent distillation of their by-now-characteristic sound yet, yielding winding-into-the-abyss solo-shred atop equally abyssal riff-vortexes, blitzkrieg bouts of blastbeaten speed interspersed with thrashier gallops, and diabolical commands over all – but it’s simply bigger, crazier, and more dangerous than their prior work. Or, it's simply belligerent, bazooka-blown blackthrash poisoned by the ancient spirit of acts such as early Morbid Angel, Sadistic Intent, Massacra, Asphyx, Merciless, Possessed, early Malevolent Creation, Sodom, early Death, Headhunter DC, and Kreator. Either way, Manifest Rebellion is indeed the record through which Praise the Flame have manifested their fullest potential.
Capped off by skilful mastering by Javier Felez at Moontower Studios, Manifest Rebellion is yet another testament to Chile's ongoing supremacy in the nowadays death metal scene. In the lead-up to its cassette release, the album is currently streaming at Caverna Abismal's Bandcamp HERE, where it can also be preordered.

Italian Technical / Melodic Death Metal band Integral recently released debut album Resilience on Japanese label Ghastly Music. Integral's sound can be summarized as the merging point of melodic death metal riffing, brutal blast beats, harsh vocal lines, deathcore groovy breakdowns, and mellow fusion openings. That is exactly what one gets from the 10 tracks on Resilience, along with introspective and inner conflict-based lyrics. Mixed and mastered by Ettore Rigotti (Destrage, Disarmonia Mundi, Babymetal...), the album also features Steffen Kummerer from Obscura and Tommy Talamanca from Sadist.

Canada's Mitochondrion to release "Antinumerology" on CD for the very first time via Krucyator Production
Canadian black/death prodigy Mitochondrion released their EP "Antinumerology" via Dark Descent Records back in 2013 on 7'', Krucyator Productions will be releasing The EP for the very first time in CD format on 26th July. It will also be released through all of the major digital platforms.
The state within the current landscape of modern death metal has not shown its promise in what seems like ages. Mitochondrion has helped signal a paradigm shift destined to bring awareness to where the elite sanctions within the Canadian extreme metal scene now reside. Initially hailing from the city adjacent to the infamous Ross Bay cemetery, Mitochondrion made quite an impression within the death metal underground with their self-released,“Archaeaeon” debut in 2008. The band introduced the death metal world to their brand of time-stretching, vitriolic, complex, brutal ambient sound. Inevitably, they would gain the reputation as one of Canada’s most devastating and creative death metal bands today with the release of “Parasignosis” in 2011, and "Antinumerology" in 2013, initially released on 7", now released on CD by Krucyator Productions.
It's been nearly 12 years to see Canker's third album finally released, but it's been worth the wait! One of Spain's most legendary death metal bands have just revealed the first single of their new album, Earthquake, which will see the light September 18th through Xtreem Music.
Containing 10 songs, Earthquake is an original blend of classic death metal with slight thrash elements and unexpected surprises which all set this band apart of the norms and typical patterns of the genre. Formed in 1990, Canker have managed to survive nearly three decades by keeping their old-school-rooted essence and fresh compositions, maintaining their status as one of Spain's leading death metal acts.
Cover artwork for Earthquake had been painted by Spanish artist Jose Vives, who's done covers for bands like Goat Worship, Itnuveth, and Retrofaith among many others. In the lead-up to its release, hear the aforementioned first track "Whale Hunt" at Xtreem Music's official YouTube channel HERE as well as Soundcloud HERE.
Progressive alternative metal band Auditory Armory have released a stunning cover of Type O Negative's classic track "Love You To Death".
The track can be streamed here: http://www.ghostcultmag.com/auditory-armory-cover-love-you-to-death-by-type-o-negative/
"Love You To Death" is featured on the band's forthcoming album Dark Matter which will be released on July 21st 2017.
Auditory Armory is not your average female-fronted band. The influences of the band range from alternative to metal to progressive to jazz and beyond. The lyrical scope of Auditory Armory’s songs skims past the superficial love song or pop hit. Auditory Armory is doing what so little in the music industry are actually doing -- writing honestly. Auditory Armory expertly uses the symbiosis of heavy rock and melody to introspectively explore dark emotions about self-worth and one’s role in the universe.
Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter April Montallana says, "I prefer to be honest with my lyrics. I don't care about what is popular or mainstream. I just hope that our music will move and touch some people. Music saved my life...I want to do that for others.." Auditory Armory has had the honour of sharing the stage with Full Devil Jacket, Fuel, Straight Line Stitch, Lacey Sturm, Bonz (from Stuck Mojo), Nothing More, Dead Horse Trauma, Bellusira, Mike Tramp (White Lion), Kelen Heller, and Saint Rebel. They were also selected to play the 2016 3rd Annual Kink Music Festiival alongside national acts such as Evanescence, HELLYEAH, and In Flames.

Unholy Prophecies have set September 16th as the international release date for the LONG-awaited debut album of Japan's Necrophile, Awakening Those Oppressed. Featuring current and ex-members of such cult bands as Anatomia, Multiplex, Messiah Death, Wormridden, and Transgressor, Necrophile arose from the ashes in 2012 after a two-decade-long slumber but are now prepared to unleash a torrent of deathrashing insanity with their very first full-length, Awakening Those Oppressed!
Formed back in 1987, Necrophile are widely considered to be one of the first death metal bands from Japan. The band was formed in 1987 by two high school students, Takaaki Ohkuma (vocals/bass, ex-Criminal Christ and later Multiplex) and Keisuke Matsunaga (guitar/drums, ex-Messiah Death). During their original tenure, they were quite prolific. They recorded two demo tapes in 1988 and 1989 - The Terminal Derangement and Beyond the Truth, respectively - and especially the second demo received a lot of attention in the the worldwide underground scene. Then, with the line-up of Takaaki (bass/vocals), Takashi Tanaka (drumers, later Transgressor and Anatomia) and Kenichi Matsunaga (guitar, later Hellchild), they recorded the Dissociated Modernity EP and a split LP with Singapore's Abhorer, both in 1991, and also played several gigs in the USA with Sadistic Intent, Deceased, and many others; they may be the first Japanese death metal act to play the States.
The original incarnation of Necrophile faded out as the members began to play in different bands, but the band reunited and played a gig in December 2012 with the line-up of Takaaki (bass/vocals), Takashi (guitar), and Keisuke (drums). After the reunion, they became active again on the live front and played many gigs in the Tokyo area. Thereafter, they appeared on the Grind Bastards #8 compilation and a split LP with Necrorite, both released in 2014.
But at long last, Necrophile's debut album is upon us! Fittingly titled Awakening Those Oppressed, Necrophile's first full-length is a literal blast from the past, like the hypothetical album that could've followed that cult split LP with Abhorer. From throttling deathrash to quick 'n' concise grindcore, with plenty of filthy headbanging in between, Awakening Those Oppressed possesses the immediately ingraining charm that recalls more innocent times: death metal's earliest, fledgling years, where subgenre splintering had yet to happen, where bands could plough through a whole range of motions so long as they were dark and, above all, DEATHLY. And that's exactly what Necrophile's debut LP is - and it keeps on raging forward, each minute as explosive and exciting as the last. Across ten tracks in 34 minutes, these veterans play with the intensity and enthusiasm of bands half their age. It's not so much a "blast from the past," then, as the past never having stopped: Necrophile are eternal, and they're Awakening Those Oppressed!

Heroes and villains are fighting the world in a mystic conspiracy thriller, coming from the factory of an Israeli Progressive band Soul Enema. "Spymania" is a part of a new album Of Clans and Clones and Clowns, released on June 23rd. A colourful and diverse 73-minute work features guest appearances from Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon) and Yossi Sassi (ex-Orphaned Land) and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend).
"As it turns out, an evil reptilians from planet Nibiru came down to Earth, and they are very close to get the key to universal knowledge. The super-human powers of Batman and Chuck Norris stand on their way, but it turns out, that only something related to the world of music is able to save the human race. What is it? Watch out till the end!,” the band commented.
"We used some paintings of a brilliant modern Russian artist Vasya Lozhkin, who's a big phenomenon in his home country, but still not really known in the Western World yet,” says songwriter and keyboard player Constantin Glantz, adding,
“I must state that ‘Spymania' has some amusing background. The lyrics for this song were written way back in 2006, or maybe even earlier, and it features a kind of goofy, paranoid mock story about someone being mysteriously thrown down from the roof of Empire State Building, and seen too much things you ain't allowed to see, while flying down to the ground. So much, in fact, that this person was forcefully killed even before he naturally hit the ground. Fast forward to the year 2015, and guess what — suddenly we have a totally real conspiracy scandal taking place around the same Empire State Building during a big ecological happening, when some claimed there's Kali or Satan images projected on a building windows, as part of some mystic apocalyptic ritual! The Hell you know, indeed.”
Watch a video for Spymania here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1J5EHWMwTY Soul Enema’s follow-up to 2010’s Thin Ice Crawling was released on June 23rd and can be ordered here.
