A progressive metal act from Finland, External, released a new music video for the song ”Parasight”. The video combines one-shot material of the band playing with the current trend of a lyric video. The production was voluntary work by a dear friend of the band, Roger Lundberg.
The song is from External’s diverse debut album ”The Blurry Horizon” released at the end of summer. Musically, ”Parasight” represents the most complex depths of the album, playing with a heavily syncopated rhythmic motif. As a counterweight to the complexity, the song offers a powerful chorus and some memorable melodies. Lyrically, the song discusses how social media can manipulate our reality – As we obsessively try to give the most perfect impression of ourselves, we may lose touch of our true selves and what it actually is to be human.

Saturnal Records has set November 16th as the international release date for Sacrificium Carmen's highly anticipated second album, Hermetica. If the band's critically acclaimed Ikuisen Tulen Kammiossa debut displayed the band as a serious contender to be reckoned with in years to come, then the follow-up Hermetica shall prove that Sacrificium Carmen are ready to be spoken of amongst esteemed countrymen like Horna, Baptism, Sargeist, Kadotus, and Behexen.
Hailing from the ever-fertile Finnish black metal scene, Sacrificium Carmen both embody their home country's prevailing underground idiom and offer a unique, diabolical twist to it. Founded in 2009 by vocalist Hoath Cambion and guitarist Advorsvs, the band draws their inspiration from the areas of occultism and Satanism exclusively. Sacrificium Carmen became active in 2012 with a full line-up, and soon released their debut demo, Sanansaattaja, in 2013 via Finnish underground label Spread Evil Productions. After the demo’s release, the band excelled in the areas of live shows and split releases, which all spread well around the underground scene. In 2014, Sacrificium Carmen started working on a debut full-length album, and the demo recordings led into a signing of a record deal with Saturnal Records for the debut album Ikuisen Tulen Kammiossa.
Following its release during the autumn of 2015, Ikuisen Tulen Kammiossa reaped widespread acclaim, and opinion was nearly unanimous: Sacrificium Carmen was a definite contender. Now, the band has further intensified and refined their sound with LP#2, Hermetica. Here you will find the same approach black metal with a melodic and atmospheric touch where all tendencies have been directed into very aggressive and sinister output, where Finnish black metal sound meets murky death metal sound as witnessed with orthodox black metal acts - but more vibrantly expressed, suggestive of the band's onstage confidence. Like its full-length predecessor, Hermetica presents eight equally dynamic tracks, dragging the listener to the sulphurous depths, with characteristic vapour trails of hypnotizing melody lingering above the tar-thick sewage. One could even say Sacrificium Carmen are more "rocking" here, and even more melodic simultaneously - but let it be known that the band are still exquisitely filthy and exceptionally well-recorded.
The more things change, the more they stay the same, or so the saying goes. Sacrificium Carmen keep the fires of Finnish black metal burning and hold high the torch with Hermetica! Feel the first burn with the new track "Kaitselmuksen Tähti" HERE, courtesy of Black Metal Promotion.
Uprising speed metal cult Excuse reveal a new video for "Sworn to the Crimson Oath." The track hails from the band's highly anticipated debut album, Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos, which will be released during the first quarter of 2019 via Shadow Kingdom Records on CD and vinyl LP formats. See & hear Excuse's "Sworn to the Crimson Oath" video HERE.
One of Finland's hottest newcomers, Excuse began to make a name for themselves with their EP Goddess Injustice. Released to critical acclaim in 2016 by Shadow Kingdom, Goddess Injustice largely introduced the fierce foursome to the international metal underground - with a nuclear-powered bang! A finely honed missile of speed metal majesty, Excuse's sound on that EP in many ways recalled the classic Canadian gods Sacrifice and Razor, but there were hints of greater glories to come. And at last, they've arrived with the presciently titled Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos.
Whereas Goddess Injustice suggested some darkly melodic leanings, Excuse's first full-length expands that arsenal considerably. Here, the six songs comprising Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos stretch out to epic lengths - one even hitting double digits, the climactic 10-minute closer "Watchtower of the Trans-Dimensional Pathway" - and take the listener on a wild, winding ride. The evil 'n' sleazy surge on which Excuse made their name still exists, but has now been finesse into a wholly more dynamic beast, able to reflect haunting moodiness and spacey horror alike. Suitably, co-guitarist Oskar Lindström's vocals have a conspicuous amount of echo placed upon them, suggesting the inter-dimensional struggles of a narrator literally lost in space. Likewise, fellow guitarist Anselmi Ahopalo's leads take centre stage here and weave an almost storytelling aspect, much in the way that classic heavy metal songwriting should, evoking both triumph and tragedy but remaining equally hummable throughout. Completing the totality is album's production, which locates the perfect balance between grit and gleam.
So many young bands blow their proverbial wad during the demo/EP days and peter out by the time their debut album comes. Not so for Excuse, who have been able to transform their earlier youthful energy into enviably advanced maturity with Prophets From the Occultic Cosmos. Behold these Prophets' coming!
Release date, cover art, tracklisting, and preorder info to be announced shortly. In the meantime, see & hear the video for "Sworn to the Crimson Oath" HERE. For more info, consult the links below.
Finnish death metallers Torchia released a visually stunning music video for the song “Light My Path” taken from their widely acclaimed debut album “Of Curses and Grief”. The video was directed and edited by Jouni Valjakka’s (Whispered) Obliviart Productions. Edward Torchia, the vocalist and the mastermind behind the video comments the piece:
”Light My Path is about walking the final day and washing oneself in the river of death. While writing the lyrics I had a strong visual image of the story, so I really wanted to depict that in a visual form at some point. It was important for me that everything happened in water so half of the video was shot literally in a lake. The five of us have already made the passage and are beckoning the one dying to join in the abyss.”

The cover was designed by Jan Yrlund (Battle Beast, Manowar etc.), who has already created several artworks for previous albums and singles for the band.
Founding member Jonne commented:
"We've never been as satisfied with a final result as we are with Kulkija. We tried to keep it very natural. Like the wanderer, this album is a journey, one that makes you feel good."
"Kulkija isn't just a collection of songs, it's a "real" album with a unique atmosphere guiding the listeners through a long journey. All songs were well prepared in advance and nothing needed to be arranged in the studio. Tuomas [fiddle] & I had lots of space to develop and play the folk arrangements."
Finland's My Reflection showcases the story of Finland, it's nature and history through their new video "Homeland"
The story of Finland, nature and history - My Reflection offers a showcase to Finnish metal with an atmospheric video "Homeland"
Finland is known for its thousands of lakes and major metal bands such as Stratovarius, Wintersun and Nightwish. Now the story of Finland's 100 years of independence, nature and some the best Finnish metal characteristics are combined in the "Homeland" single and music video by, also Finnish, metal band My Reflection.
"When composing, the "Finland 100" theme was very prominent and I wanted to tribute my homeland somehow, filming the "Homeland" video took a year to capture all the Finnish four seasons. "We missed the main celebration but it is great to own the piece to 100-year-old Finland still at this point."
"The song also offers a kind of a showcase to Finnish metal by combining its more delicate and delightful sides. There was no intention to do any clear line-up and I let the thoughts speak. Feelings are often roller coaster and this is the end result this time." says Petja Haapaniemi, the composer-guitarist-vocalist of My Reflection.
The band ends several years of silence to the release. "The break has brought certain balance and maturity to our music. We are happy to finally share the piece with all the metal fans", says My Reflection vocalist Jenni Räikkönen.

Finland's Wolfheart to release "Constellation Of The Black Light" on September 28th via Napalm Records
The Wolves strike back with their long awaited 4th full length studio album Constellation Of The Black Light which will be released on September 28th via Napalm Records.
Wolfheart’s music embraces the sheer force and beauty of Finnish nature with fiery passion. After the success of their first three albums that all hit the Top 10 in the Finnish album charts, among them their last album Tyhjyys that charted in Switzerland as well, the time has come to unleash the next masterpiece of raw Winter Metal! Constellation Of The Black Light comes with seven tracks that dive head-first into Black Metal, Nordic Death Metal, soaring melodies and complex arrangements.
The band on the new album:-
"Determination and perseverance were the key points in the making this album while conquering obstacle after obstacle during the process of recordings while coldness and beauty of winter were the themes where the music was born. This is definitely a triumph in Wolfheart career and one of the biggest battles won in my personal career. I could not be more satisfied with the result and with new label and management behind us we are headstrong to stay in the bath of victories."
Rockshots Records is thrilled to announce the signing of Finnish metal combo SoulHealer for their fourth studio album entitled "Up From The Ashes" set for release on September 14th in Europe and September 21st in North America. Album pre-order available http://bit.ly/UpFromTheAshes_CD.
SoulHealer play traditional heavy and power metal with an old fashioned 80's attitude blended with a modern metal touch. Their catchy lyrics and unforgettable guitar riffs delivers the perfect soundtrack to both 80’s lovers and the new fans alike looking for great melodies and easy-to-remember songs.
Guitarist Teemu Kuosmanen comments:
"Our upcoming album will be a killer! This is our fourth album and the first one we took our time with. Our previous albums "Chasing the Dream" and especially the third "Bear the Cross" we rushed to compose and record. Both albums included really good songs but I can't stop thinking how good they could be if we didn't hurry them. Now we look forward and this upcoming album has matured slowly and we have taken time to make the arrangements better. I’m sure our fans will love this album. They will find something new but the soul of SoulHealer will still be there.”

Wrestling is an old school heavy metal band from Oulu, Finland and their debut album "Ride On Freaks" is released via Inverse Records on September 14th 2018. The album pays homage to the classic heavy metal style of the 80’s, and you can clearly hear the influence of bands like Accept or Ozzy Osbourne in Wrestling’s music. But Wrestling is not just a tribute band. On the contrary they are spicing up their soup with various different styles. You can find clues of punk at one end and even some pure pop melodies at the other. The album is quite diverse in style and it’s also been recorded in a traditional fashion that leaves lots of room for the musicians to create the atmosphere they are after. So Wrestling is definitely not math metal. Or well… perhaps short term math metal at most.
The band released a new single from the upcoming album "Surreal Killer".
Watch the music video here: https://youtu.be/K4Th1vrDibI
"Surreal Killer shows us Wrestling at its most vicious mood. This speed metal influenced tune tells us a story of a serial killer artist, whose simple mission is… well, to make art out of death."
