American/Finnish sensations Tornado have returned with their third release, aptly titled "Commitment To Excellence", 11 songs of highly catchy and in-your-face Thrash Metal!
Formed in 2010 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Tornado quickly released their Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy/Pain) produced debut album "Amsterdamn, Hellsinki". 2016 saw the release of the sophomore album "Black President" as well as the video for the anti-bullying song "David and Goliath" which caught the attention of several anti-bullying agencies, one of which used singer Superstar Joey Severance in a country wide advertising campaign.
With "Commitment To Excellent", Tornado continue to do what they do best: writing songs that you can actually remember, with their own original recipe consisting in a blend of thrash, sleazy and glam!
This time around, the band also brought along some friends to help out in certain places: Nile’s Karl Sanders, Immolation’s Ross Dolan and Pro-Pain’s Adam Phillips, as well as Glen Drover (former Megadeth member).

Founded in 2005 by Toni Toikkanen (bass) and Jani Elokoski (guitar), N.D.C.I.C. began practicing in the Vuosaari youth house and soon had a complete line up. William Torrey (vocals), Seppo Kallioinen (drums), and Juha-Matti Paussu (solo) stepped into their roles as original members, and many shows were played. The band quickly found themselves as an East- Helsinki favorite, and started to think beyond their current situation. It wasn't long until the band met and befriended drummer/producer Tonmi Lillman (Ajattara, kylähullut, sinergy, to/die/for,lordi)), and began working with him in the studio. Under his direction, they grew into their sound, taking the raw ingredients they already had and turning it into the fully grown style they have today. And when personal and musical differences led to the departure of Kallioinen, Lillman stepped into that slot as well.
Work on Tales of the Lost began in January 2009 in D-Studio, but quickly ran into trouble. Major financial issues reared their head, and the band found themselves partway through yet deeply in debt. Slowly, they raised the capital needed, and completed the album late in 2011. Everything seemed to be on track once more, when in February 2012 tragedy struck. Tonmi Lillman was found dead in his apartment in Helsinki , and the band took his loss hard. It was several months before they even considered who might step into the very large shoes left by Tonmi, but one thing was sure: his final album WOULD be released. 2012 saw a renewed energy fill the band, as Tuomas Mäkelä was brought in on drums. Almost everything seemed to be moving ahead well, but personal issues were intruding on things once again.
When it became clear that these issues were not solvable, the band regretfully parted ways with Juha-Matti Paussu, and Johannes Oravainen stepped in on lead guitar. Following the release of 2013s Tales of the Lost NDCIC forged ahead once more, performing shows across finland while beginning to write new material for the inevitable follow up album. During this writing process it became appearant that the band had once again begun to grow stylistically, leaving behind much of the symphonic backround present in TotL and embracing a more agressive sound. Tuomas was replaced by Petri Jokisalo and the writing process continued, riff by riff and line by line. The band began recording what would become Pawns and Kings in early 2015.
The new style had been refined and polished and all was going well. But Petri was slowly coming to the realisation that he was not interested anymore. That summer he decided to leave to focus on another project and Ville Holmström replaced him on drums. In 2018, talks began with record label Wormhole Death for the release of the new album. A deal was signed, and it was agreed that summer of that year would mark the bands first official release. Since then we have been training, polishing, preparing. Pawns and Kings is ready for release, and we are ready to release it. Are you ready?

Helsinki based melodic death metal band Dead Shape Figure has releases a new single ”Bolt Of Chaos And Creation” from their upcoming full length album ”Cacoëthes” to be released on June 8th 2018.
Listen the single:
Vocalist Galzi background the single release: ”Bolt Of Chaos And Creation is lyrically one of the most important tracks on ’Cacoëthes’. Retorically asking and questioning the meaning of actions, causes and punishments and how they affect on the behaviour of individual people.”
”When I was composing the riffs to ’Bolt Of Chaos And Creation’ it started to seem that this is going to be something more ceremonial. Something that bows towards life but is yet straight forward. We had to test this out on our live set long before the album was going to be released. And it truly seems that the song become flesh when played live. I have never been afraid of our compositions. Not before this.” Composer and guitar player of Dead Shape Figure Juhani describes.
Saturnal Records announces the signing of RottenDawn. Hailing from Finland, RottenDawn is an experienced and aspiring group of old-school Finnish metal pioneers in a fresh, new package from such bands as Protected Illusion, Unholy, Sinisthra, and Impaled Nazarene.
Founded by Joni Halmetoja (guitars) and Make Mäkinen (guitars), the earliest stages of RottenDawn began already back in the first quarter of this decade in the capital of Finland, Helsinki. But it wasn't until 2014 when things really started to progress towards the band's current musical style - simply, very heavy music - when Pasi Äijö (Unholy) joined the RottenDawn ranks for vocal and bass duties. Still, later on, the band found its footing when Mikael Arnkil (Impaled Nazarene) was asked to join as drummer during spring 2017, completing this heavy mixture of dark, harmonic doom and death metal - or, as described by the band, "Rotten Doom Metal."
RottenDawn is currently working on their upcoming, as-yet-untitled debut album, which will be released through Saturnal Records in late 2018 / early 2019. Every member of the band has countless miles of heavy metal music - or history in music, in general - behind them, and that can be heard from RottenDawn's unique, grooving old-school death metal / doom mixture.
Hear for yourself with the first official track, "Dusk Demons," which can be heard HERE at Saturnal's official YouTube channel. For more info, consult the links below.
Pasi Äijö - vocals and bass
Joni Halmetoja - guitars
Markku Mäkinen - guitars
