Samskaras was founded by Montreal-based musician Eric Burnet (Derelict, Unburnt) who is joined by drummer Alexandre Dupras, known for his work with Teramobil and Unhuman. Their music is built on the melodically dense and technically aggressive style made popular by fellow Québécois artists such as Gorguts, Neuraxis, Quo Vadis, and Cryptopsy. Inspiration is drawn from other far-flung corners of the extreme music spectrum as well, with bands such as Wood Of Ypres, The Faceless, Nile, and Enslaved casting shadows on the compositions.
Samskaras was launched in 2014 with the release of the singles "Red Hill" and "Consecrate". Now in 2017, the band has returned with Asunder, a four-song EP produced at The Grid with Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy). “We challenged ourselves a lot on these songs,” explains Burnet. “We took chances and tried some things we had never done before.”
“Solar” is the first single from Asunder, the new EP from the Montreal duo Samskaras, due out on January 20th, 2017. You can check out "Solar" through YouTube HERE
A few days ahead of release, Swiss based tech-death maestros Virvum have partnered with Metal-Injection for a full early stream of their debut album, Illuminance. Fans of Fallujah, Decrepit Birth, and The Faceless will highly appreciate this release.

Virvum - Illuminance will be released this Friday, September 16th across multiple platforms.

Turkish technical death metal assassins CARNOPHAGE will release their sophomore full-length via Unique Leader Records this Fall. Titled Monument, the nine track punisher was recorded by Unsal Ozata at Studio Deep (Burial Invocation, Cenotaph, Decaying Purity, Inhuman Depravity etc.), mixed and mastered by Sasha Borovykh at TsunTsun Productions (Cerebral Effusion, Soils Of Fate, Epicardiectomy, Fleshbomb etc.), and comes adorned in the tormented, Baroque-era influenced cover art of Cihan Engin. Boasting an inexorable assault of jackhammering blasts, churning riffs, and inhuman death grunts, Monument is true exercise in controlled chaos and, following an eight-year dormancy, finds the band at the peak of their methodical and unapologetically diabolical ingenuity.
Monument will be released September 23rd, 2016 via Unique Leader Records. In the meantime check out "At The Backside Of Our Civilization" at THIS LOCATION.
New York City-based technical metal duo, Bangladeafy, has just issued the first single from their impending Narcopaloma EP, with a premiere of the churning "Termites," delivered exclusively through Metal Injection.
Narcopaloma crams seven new tunes into a white-knuckled fifteen-minute ride through Weirdo City, delivering Bangladeafy's manic, tech-mangled, bass and drum-driven attack with even more brain-warping arrangements than before. Progressive fusion meets cyber annihilation in brutalizing grooves that take the listener by the throat and drag one through a psychotic 8-bit video game holocaust.
The first single from Narcopaloma comes writhing forth through an exclusive debut at Metal Injection, the write-up stating of the track, "'Termites' bends and twists endlessly though cluttered hallways of riffs and insane passages that just might make you pause the track to get off your ass and practice. Seriously, this sounds like four dudes trying to keep up with one another... not two dudes crushing it. Observe!"
Choke on Bangladeafy's "Termites" RIGHT HERE.
Narcopaloma will see release on CD and digital formats through the band's cohorts at Nefarious Industries on August 26th; preorders will be made available in the coming days. Bangladeafy has booked a Brooklyn record release show on August 25th, with many other live announcements to be expected.
Bangladeafy CD Release Show:
8/25/2016 Sunnyvale - Brooklyn, NY w/ Husbandry, Spotlights, Geometers
The origin of the Bangladeafy moniker fuses the Bangladeshi descent of drummer Atif Haq with the physical hearing impairment of bassist/pianist/vocalist Jon Ehlers, as he along with two sisters were been born with sensorineural hearing-loss. The duo interlopes endless runs and rhythms with intense time changes and otherworldly texture with utter seamlessness. Closing a three-year gap since The Briefcase EP left jaws swinging, the duo slams back onto the grid with Narcopaloma. The record is drenched in the synth elements that have permeated the outfit's prior works, including segues bridging each track, and while Bangladeafy songs are largely instrumental already, Narcopaloma is virtually void of any vocals. Narcopaloma was engineered and mixed by Jonathan Vergara at Pancake Studios, with Atif Haq's drums having been recorded by Mike Gatto, and all bass, samplers, and keys tracked by the band's Jon Ehlers.
Bangladeafy is also already currently immersed in the writing process for their next release. Steady updates are to be expected throughout the year.
"Wriggling Chrysalis Of Metaphysical Grudge" is chock full of penetrating, pit-raging tunes, going off like a bomb from the start, setting the tone for the entire album. Containing plenty of what makes Brutal Death Metal "brutal", whether it is the slamming grooves or the blasting mayhem, its also is fast, catchy, and technical, and never boring, making this a stand out brutal death metal album that appeals to a wide audience.
Japanese newcomers Urobilinemua have more than earned their way to the Gore House Productions camp. In under 2 years, this technical yet brutal quintet has not only released a split, but also self-released and distributed their first EP in the vast Japanese metal market.
Featuring album art by the grotesque loving painter Mei Maro, "Wriggling Chrysalis Of Metaphysical Grudge" was recorded / mixed at Urobilinemia's home studio, and received a revamp mastering touch by Chris Garcia of The Morgue Music Studios (Stages of Decomposition, Bloodscribe, Cranial Engorgement) in Inglewood, CA.

Grace Disgraced are arguably like Gruesome, they're indulging in death worship for years but they're also evolving rapidly. They seem to be taking the 'symbolic' era template and elaborating on it, adding their own touches to it. No Clean Singing managed to premiere the entire stream of the album HERE.
"In a year when Gruesome is getting widespread accolades for keeping the legacy of Death alive, Grace Disgraced need to be in that conversation, too. They’ve recorded one of the best progressive death metal albums of the year, though you could say with equal justification that it’s also one of the best technical death metal albums of the year and one of the best brutal death albums, too."
- No Clean Singing (US)
"Very special and magnificent album" - Vixens (Netherlands)
"A cult among fans of techno-death metal" - Astarta (Russia)
Grace Disgraced are an ambitious, ever-evolving band from Russia. Rooted in the classic sound of Death, they've been rather overlooked all along, struggling to find labels with proper distribution networks. That hasn't stopped them from going all out when it comes to presenting their music - the songs on 'Lasting Afterdeaths' are nothing short of mini-epics, with the average song length being around 7-8 minutes; moreover, each song has an individual artwork to thoroughly convey the mood and expression of the song. Mind-boggling progression and challenging technicality aside, the raw vocals of Polina add necessary brutality to the proceedings, bolstering the ever-sinuous and rhythmic nature of their music.
Chuck Schuldiner would've been proud of their direction, for they don't wallow in the sound created by Death on their first two albums, but lean towards the experimental yet catchy style on their penultimate release, 'Symbolic'. Only a few bands have successfully taken the sound ahead, one being the underrated Cemetery (R.I.P.) from Germany (reissued on Memento Mori label) and the other being Grace Disgraced.

After the success of Stages, Imminence Records has once again hit the Florida metalcore pipeline to sign technical metalcore outfit Forthteller after their very successful "Madmen" independent EP release. While they are already hard at work writing new songs, the band has just been added to Stages’ New War tour that will be hitting the the road in late July.
“We are very excited to be joining the Imminence Records team. This opportunity is something we have been working toward for a long time, and it is amazing to see all the hard work, the immense support we have received, and the opportunities every industry professional has given us finally come to fruition. We want to offer a special thanks to the dudes in Stages for letting us hit the road with them in July and August! Thank you to everyone for believing in us and making this possible. We will never forget that support!” - Thom Schultz (Drummer)
Forthteller is a rising local band out of Tampa, FL that began in 2014 under the name I Shot the Albatross. Due to an evolution in sound from their first EP to their second one, which was released on May 21st, 2016, the band decided that a name change was in order. The band strives to push the boundaries in metalcore with unique riffs, progressive composition, and a myriad of changes in time signatures. Blending a diverse range of sounds, Forthteller is not your average metalcore outfit. Their emotional and dramatic showmanship, with visually striking intensity, lends the bands’ live performance to be endlessly captivating. In late June, the band signed with Imminence Records and announced their first tour.
