Mammothfest 2016 will support Martlets Hospice in Brighton following tragic passing of Tom from Architects
The Mammothfest team in Brighton have been deeply moved by the passing of Tom Searle of Architects recently. He spent his last days being cared for by the incredible people at Martlets hospice, a charity that rely on donations to continue to help those in need through their last days. Stephen Dickson, Mammothfest director commented:
"Firstly we send our love and compassion to the band and their families at this difficult time. Having personally witnessed the passing of my best friend and Mammothfest business partner Rik Mosquero in 2013 after months in a hospice, we know just how tough a journey it is. It is fucking brutal so we are compelled to do something positive to put some back. The people in hospices are on another level, the care they give is so amazing so Architects and Martlets have got our complete support.
We have therefore invited Martlets hospice down to have a stall for the weekend and we will be holding daily raffles so we can try to raise as much money as possible. This is where we ask everyone around the world to chip in and help the cause!"
MAMMOTHFEST are asking you all, yes you bands, labels, magazines, printing companies and other - whatever it may be - if you have something that can be raffled, send it to the address below asap:
3B Highcroft Villas
Every prize will be raffled and every single penny raised will go directly to the hospice.
Cut off point is 20/09/2016 to submit prizes.
If you are unable to attend or send prizes for the raffle but want to support this incredible charity/cause then please donate at the following just giving page:
Iron Maiden’s The Book of Souls World Tour has been on the road since late February, playing to over 1.5 million fans with 72 shows in 36 counties and six continents. They will play the final show on Thursday, 4 August in Germany at Wacken Open Air Festival. ARTE Concert is going to feature the entire iconic performance on Livestream. The spectacular gig will get lavish camera attention and can be accessed anywhere in the world – a sensational experience for anyone who cannot get to show.
Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood says:
"We decided to finish the tour at Wacken as it is the ideal way to end this magical tour playing to 80,000 core metal fans at this legendary Metal festival. Wacken has become such as international event with many thousands of fans from many other countries around the world joining and celebrating with the German fans so it is perfect for the final show of a memorable tour. Everywhere we’ve played the fans have been amazing and the reaction to the new songs and stage show has been phenomenal.
The band has loved every minute on stage. So when Wacken and ARTE asked us to consider a live stream of our performance there we jumped at the chance to give our fans an end of tour gift. Streaming this final show live globally allows us to thank the many fans we played to so far, and, for those who couldn’t get to see us this time round, a chance to see just how spectacular the live concert is and what they missed! ”
Wolfgang Bergmann (ARTE):
“The festival summer by ARTE concert is heading for an exceptional highlight, showing a live stream of British legends Iron Maiden performing their final show of an incredible tour at the Wacken Open Air. An audience of millions, in Europe and for the first time worldwide, know by now that ARTE is taking the festivals to anywhere you are.”
Holger Hübner / Thomas Jensen (ICS / Wacken):
“We are incredibly happy to be able to give all these Iron Maiden and Wacken Open Air fans, worldwide, this highlight at the close of the spectacular ‘Book of Souls’ Tour. Heavy Metal fans are the best fans in the world, and Iron Maiden fans are unparalleled. It is so brilliant that everybody who could not get a ticket for the W:O:A, will be able to enjoy this ‘Night To Remember’.”

Arch Enemy will play the biggest stage production of their career at next week’s Wacken Open Air on Saturday, August 6th around midnight, making this the pinnacle of a highly successful album campaign. “This is the first time we’ve worked on filming and editing the whole project. Having creative control over every aspect from start to finish was great, it was a lot of work but extremely rewarding! We enjoyed working on it together so much that we’ve decided to start a collaborative company called Fun Blood so we can work on projects together in the future.” - Tom Sykes

Just recently the Italian death metal combo Mechanical God Creation performed at Metalhead Meeting (June 3-5 2016 in Bucharest – Romania). A video footage for the song "Walking Dead" is now available on Youtube, watch it below
Comments the bands Frontlady Luciana Catananti:
"It was really great to participate in such an important festival in Romania and share the stage with many bands, we met some new friends and we were able to show our music to a new European city. We hope to play again one day over there!
Mechanical God Creation is currently busy writing new material for the third album, scheduled to be released in 2016.
One of The Netherlands' greatest symphonic metal bands, Epica, have finally put the last touches on their new upcoming studio album entitled 'The Holographic Principle'. Once again it'll be released worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records. The album was produced with Joost van der Broek at Sandlane Recording Facilities. Mixing was handled by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Destruction, etc). The cover artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann (www.heilemania.de).
Epica had this to say about the new album:-
"Our highly anticipated seventh studio album is a fact. 'The Holographic Principle' feels to us like a true treasure, created by us all with blood, sweat and tears of joy. In the past year we have worked very hard to write and record this special album. We are all very eager to share it with you! Join us on our new musical journey."
To celebrate the release of Epica's brand-new record fittingly, the band will be playing on their own Epic Metal Fest at the 013 in Tilburg, NL on Saturday, October 1st. They invited Katatonia, their label mates Fleshgod Apocalypse and (also landsmen) Textures to take part in this special event.

Amaranthe, the Gothenburg sextet known for fusing melodic metal with contemporary production and cool EDM elements, have been added to the bill of the inaugural ‘Rock On Green’ festival at the O2 Forum, Kentish Town, North London.
Amaranthe will appear directly below headliner Tarja Turunen (Finnish soprano and original Nightwish front-woman) on a bill that features new & established names from the worlds of symphonic, power and gothic metal.
At the moment, Amaranthe are hard at work on their fourth studio album – the follow-up to ‘Massive Addictive’ (2014). This latest outing is set for release in the autumn of 2016, and as with all of the band’s work, it will be issued via Spinefarm Records worldwide.
‘Merry metallers’ Reckless Love will be returning to London in June in the wake of their sold out show at the Scala Theatre in March. The flamboyant Finns, who have recently released their fourth studio album, ‘InVader’, via Spinefarm Records UK, have now been added to the line-up for the ‘Camden Rocks’ festival, set to take place on Saturday, June 4th.
Says guitarist, Pepe: “Camden Town is truly a special place for Reckless Love, as we rocked our first ever UK show there back in 2010! Since then, we've returned many times to this beautiful place, and even held a smashing month-long residency at one of its many lively rock clubs. So it is with the greatest pleasure that we come back in 2016 to take part in the awesome Camden Rocks Festival!!”
In support of this one-off outing, Reckless Love will be releasing a new single / video, ‘We Are The Weekend’ – opening track on ‘InVader’ and a genuine party-starter in true RL spirit. In addition, a double coloured vinyl version of ‘Invader’ – complete with previously unreleased bonus track, ‘Zoo’ – is about to go into production; apart from a Record Store Day piece in 2014, this will the first time the Finnish Four have had their music issued on vinyl! And the colour of the vinyl? Pink. Next silly question.

Bloodstock HQ is currently a hive of activity, with even more bands being confirmed for this August’s best heavy metal weekender.
Joining the Ronnie James Dio stage are the recently reformed industrial outfit, Misery Loves Company. The band are optimistic about their forthcoming appearance as for them:-
“The UK was always special to Misery Loves Company, our very first show outside of Scandinavia was in London and without the support of the British people we probably would have stayed in Scandinavia for ever, listening to ABBA, eating herring and dreaming of the outside world… Misery Loves Company + Britain = a true love story. Now, when we return to the stage, we’re extremely happy to showcase our industrial demons in front of the British crowd once more. Doing a summer of festivals without coming to the UK would have been a failure, so, we can’t wait to come to Bloodstock!”
Check out a clip of ‘My Mind Still Speaks’ - https://youtu.be/ZiPENHSeFYM.
Opening the RJD stage on Saturday are Brit tech metallers, Cambion. As proud Bloodstock alumni (2012/2014), the band are currently at work on their debut album, having released the Virus Extended Edition EP in 2014.
Check out the video for ‘Heterodox’ here; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpeerilbWqU

Stepping into the Friday night headline slot on the Sophie Lancaster stage are NWOBHM icons, Diamond Head. The likes of Metallica have often stated that without Diamond Head, they’d probably not exist, such is the Stourbridge band’s influence. Check out this fan-filmed clip of the ‘Big 4’ (Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax & Megadeth) covering Diamond Head’s classic ‘Am I Evil’, joined by the band’s very own Brian Tatler - https://youtu.be/K9P-H_Qd908. Brian and his cohorts are set to release their first album of new material in over 8 years on 22nd April, simply titled ‘Diamond Head’. Don’t miss ‘em at Bloodstock!
Also joining Saturday night’s Sophie stage shenanigans are Brit metallers, Krysthla. The band’s debut album, ‘A War Of Souls And Desires’, can be snapped up at their Bandcamp - http://www.krysthla.bigcartel.com/.
