Sliptrick Records welcome Italian Folkcore group Lou Quinse.
Lou Quinse - “The fifteen” in langue d’Oc, “The Devil”, fifteenth major arcana of Tarot.
Conceived in 2006 in val d’Ala, in the mountains of Balme (Barmés) with the grouping of various underground musicians of Torino, Lou Quinse want to celebrate an heretical marriage between diabolic heavy metal and the cultural heritage of the western Alps. Traditional instruments such as hurdy-gurdy, flutes, accordion, percussion and bagpipes, find new life and energy crashing into a wall of waves and distorted vibrations generated by huge guitars, a deep bass and fast drums. At the same time, a pure metal voice screams and growls words that have been sung in taverns, forests and cobble stoned streets for centuries.
From the beginning, Lou Quinse have been a really motivated band, performing intense shows, searching for high grade atmospheres on all stages in Italy and Europe whether good or (indeed in some cases) bad. The new album from Lou Quinse is titled Lo Sabbat. Recorded in 2017, it contains 12 blistering tracks and is due for release worldwide via Sliptrick Records.
Lou Quinse are:
IX. L’Ermite – Vocals
XIX. Lo Solelh – Guitar
Lo Mat – Drums
XVII. La Luna – Bass
I. Lo Bagat – Diatonic Accordion
VII. Lo Carreton – Flutes/Pipes

New Zealand’s rising musical stars and teenage thrash metal band Alien Weaponry have signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records! With such an impressive career that started five years ago when the band members were just 10 and 12 years old and this unique combination of thrash metal and Māori cultural background, Napalm Records is excited to welcome Alien Weaponry to their eclectic artist roster:
"Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of the thrash metal band Alien Weaponry from New Zealand“ says Sebastian Muench, A&R of Napalm Records. "Besides the fact that they are the youngest musicians we ever added to the Napalm band roster they are also one of the most exciting and unique bands in recent years. Their combination of old school thrash metal and Māori culture elements and language creates intense and energetic songs that should be highly attractive to all true genre fans especially those stopped listening to the Sepultura after the „Roots“ album. Kia Ora Alien Weaponry and welcome to the Napalm family!“
The band comments: "Napalm is a great label for us to work with because their whakapapa (genealogy) includes a lot of thrash metal, which is where our roots are. So we fit within their whanau (family), but we're also doing something different, introducing our own language and style. For these reasons, we think we will both grow and benefit from this relationship. "Being based in the tiny town of Waipu, New Zealand, we are pretty much as far away as you can get from the heavy metal centre of the world (which to us is Wacken, Germany), so this is a massive step for us towards establishing our career internationally.“
The trio shocks and surprises audiences on a number of levels. Alien Weaponry's songwriting is complex, developed and highly political. Their live performance energy is startling, with just two fifteen-year old's commanding the front of stage as effectively as four- and five-piece bands three times their age. But perhaps most surprising of all, given their blonde flailing locks and Viking appearance, many of their songs are in New Zealand’s native language, Te Reo Māori. In fact, guitarist/lead singer Lewis de Jong (15) and his brother, drummer Henry (17), are of Ngati Pikiāo and Ngati Raukawa descent – they call themselves ‘Stealth Māori.’ They attended a full immersion kura kaupapa Māori (Māori language school) until they were seven years old, where singing waiata and performing haka were a daily routine. Also ingrained in their early learning were stories of New Zealand history from a Māori perspective. In September 2017, they won the prestigious APRA Maioha award for their song ‘Raupatu’ – a thrash metal commentary on the 1863 act of parliament that allowed the colonial government to confiscate vast areas of land from the indigenous Māori people. On 16 November, they took their places among NZ’s musical elite as nominees at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
The combination of thrash metal with Māori history and language has proved popular. Their latest music video for Rū Ana Te Whenua has more than a million YouTube and Facebook views, spent 2 weeks at no. 1 on Spotify’s NZ Viral chart, and hit no. 2 on the iTunes global metal chart (just behind Iron Maiden’s ‘Run to the Hills’). The band’s music has been play-listed on stations in New Zealand and around the world – from Scotland to Brazil, as well as the USA, Australia and Germany.
Alien Weaponry's English material is equally controversial, calling out everyone from teachers and friends at school to the media for variously glorifying and destroying the lives of television and sports stars. “We listened to all sorts of music when we were younger,” says lead singer and guitarist Lewis de Jong, “but we were drawn to thrash metal because it’s quite complex music, and it is a great vehicle for expressing real stories and emotions.” “It also works with Te Reo Māori,” adds drummer Henry. “Both the musical style and the messages have a lot of similarities with haka, which is often brutal, angry and about stories of great courage or loss.”
But it’s not just the metal community who are taking notice. London-based youth culture and fashion institution i-D ran a piece on the band in September 2017. More recently, Alien Weaponry featured in a story entitled ‘Can a Thrash Metal Band help save the Maori Language?’ published in the respected New York political and cultural journal, The Atlantic. In New Zealand, they have appeared on everything from Kids’ TV shows Pukana! and Sticky TV to late night political comedy panel 7 Days. “These guys could be bigger than Lorde in terms of our musical export,” says TV One Breakfast music correspondent Sarah Gandy. “They believe in their identity as a metal band, their use of Te Reo is impressive, there’s really nothing else like this in the world at the moment,” agrees Jeff Newton from NZ On Air.
Napalm Records is proud to welcome Alien Weaponry to their roster, more exciting news and album details about the band's upcoming record, set to be released for mid of 2018, will follow soon!

Italian partycore misfits We Have The Moon have signed to Rockshots Records for their upcoming debut album "Till The Morning Comes". Inspired by the fresh sound and attitude delivered by bands such as Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack! and Eskimo Callboy, We Have The Moon delivers tunes that experiments with metalcore, dance, pop and electronic music to arrive at their sound dubbed partycore.
Featuring 11 non-stop tracks, the concept of the debut album is to take listeners on the various stages of one long party night, from the entrance at the club to the time you get back home in the morning, stumbling on every step. The debut album is set for release on February 23, 2018 via Rockshots Records and follows their fan loved singles "Killer Party" (2017), "Unreasonable" (2016) (which appear on the album), "Blue (Eiffel65 cover)" (2016) and 2015 EP "Scream and Dance".
As vocalist Makku comments:
"We think our fans will love the upcoming album: the new sound delivered by first our first single Killer Party was really appreciated, so we felt confident in going that direction to writing our other songs. However, we did experiment during the composition of the new tunes, which we took a serious approach to, but also had lots of fun writing. We want fans to fill the energy, fun and engage it good times while listening to it."

Falun – the magical city in the heart of Sweden, surrounded by idyllic forests and blue lakes emerges more and more as a creative centre for ambitious and talented young bands. Is it in the water? Is it in the air? No one knows, but it remains a fact that Falun is the glorious birthplace of some of the most promising and hottest acts on this planet. After spawning bands like Sabaton, Twilight Force, Civil War and Billion Dollar Babies, Falun now has a new up-and-coming crew in stock. Follow The Cipher are ready to herald in a new musical era and crash through the many dimensions of our universe to steal your breath. Despite their stylistic diversity, the Swedish metal act creates a very cohesive ambiance, mixing first class sound with magical charisma, an innovative concept, live presence and an incredibly talented vocalist.
Let's take a little look into the past; Follow The Cipher‘s story started in May 2014, when Ken Kängström decided to start a band with the intention to be different from everything else out there. The idea itself had been haunting his mind for years, but the catalyst to finally put his thoughts into action was the result of a long-time collaboration with the internationally acclaimed metal giants Sabaton, with whom Follow The Cipher maintain a close friendship. Ken Kängström is definitely not a newcomer in the Scandinavian music scene, since he wrote and produced some well known Sabaton songs such as the monumental anthem ’Carolus Rex‘. It was this track which got the ball rolling: "I think the song sparked the first inspiration in me – in particular, it was responsible for me starting to trust my own abilities and judgment," Ken reflects. "When I wrote this track, I felt deep inside that it was time to put my plans with Follow The Cipher into action." Therefore, the band has also included a version of this important track, ’Carolus Rex‘, on their debut album.
Something unique was born, growing to become a mixture between Nightwish, In Flames and Sabaton, yet creating something completely different and innovative. "I consider our music as both visual and cinematic," says Ken. "The sound is large scaled and multi-layered - each element plays an important role within the overall concept. You can listen to our music in two different ways; either by focusing on the individual, versatile elements like the keyboard melodies or Linda's powerful voice, or you can indulge in the whole package.“
The Cipher crew consists of five talented members; Linda Toni Grahn, equipped not only with a powerful and characteristic voice, but also outstanding charisma. When taking to the stage, all it takes are a few seconds for Linda to capture everyone‘s attention. "Linda is unique - she stands out from the crowd not only as a great singer, but also as a charismatic personality! Immediately after meeting her, I knew she would be the right person for us!” Ken Kängström (guitar) recalls the first meeting with the captain of the Cipher workforce. Other crew members include Karl Löfgren (drums), Viktor Carlsson (guitar) and Jonas Asplind (bass).
Follow The Cipher is an ambitious troop, not only do they express their passion through their music, but also through their extravagant outfits and impressive live shows. Therefore it didn‘t come as surprise that the world‘s biggest metal label, Nuclear Blast, signed them after experiencing the band live at Sabaton Open Air 2017. "We had them on our radar for the past two years, we were convinced of the song quality and appreciated the commitment of the members. Eventually, the determining factor was their outstanding live performance, which proved to us that Follow The Cipher have everything they need," states Markus Wosgien A&R of the German metal label. The band adds: "We are super excited to be a part of the biggest independent metal label in the world. This collaboration will shock the heavy metal ground, and is for sure a dream coming true for all of us."
To cut a long story short, the Cipher crew is more than ready to take you on an exciting journey through the darkest galaxies of metal. It's time to open a new chapter of heavy metal history.

Rising up from the mind of Olivier Verron (more known in the international Metal Scene under the alias of Amduscias, leader of the French Black Metal band Temple Of Baal), Conviction was officially born in November 2013, when the first demo was composed and recorded... In only 11 hours.
“An intense and spontaneous experience”, states the musician. “I recorded as I composed, and the ideas just kept on flowing one after another. Maybe due to the long gestation of the project, which I had in mind ever since the nineties, but that I couldn’t render concrete back then, due to the lack of musicians into Doom Metal, and the fact that I hardly had any equipment to record back then.”
Conviction’s first release introducing a pure traditional Doom band influenced by SAINT VITUS, PENTAGRAM, COUNT RAVEN or early CATHEDRAL, was very well received within the Underground. CONVICTION stands for true classic Doom Metal. “In a time when Doom is turned into cheerful Stoner, or melted with sludgy Hard Core vibes, my intention is to keep up with the old school and Metal way. Doom should deal with gloom and darkness, and to me it’s a nonsense to turn it into a positive, party-like music dealing with how cool it is to smoke a joint or whatever”, states the leader.
After a second self-release in the form of the digital single Outworn, CONVICTION was joined by guitar player Frédéric Patte-Brasseur (ATARAXIE, FUNERALIUM), bass player Vincent Buisson (MOURNING DAWN) and drummer Rachid “Teepee” Trabelsi (MOONSKIN, CORROSIVE ELEMENTS).
“We are excited, honoured and happy to join the Argonauta family, seeing this first album becoming reality is a dream come true after all these years, and I am personally thrilled to see my old friends Fred, Vincent and Teepee joining me on this adventure.”
The band, now ready to doom the stages of Europe, will have the first album ready at the end of 2018.
Imminence Records has announced the signing of Georgia's Metalcore outfit Lumen to it's ever-growing roster. Along with the signing announcement, the band has released the music video for their lead single "Moon Reader." The single will be featured on the band's label debut that will be releasing in March.
"With this record, we tried not to limit ourselves to one sound. You can hear the diversity between all of us as individual musicians throughout the record, and often within the songs themselves. Our aim has been to maintain energy all while staying true to our musicianship. Most importantly, we've written a record that we all enjoy, and that's what truly matters to us.” - Marc Kniphfer (Vocalist)
In a scene where local bands come and go in the blink of an eye, it’s hard to find a band that sticks out. One band that is up to that task is Lumen, a metalcore outfit hailing from the back alleys of Augusta GA. Comprised of members of previous local bands, Lumen hopes to blend the sounds of its varying members into a unique sound that all genre elitists can enjoy, and to persevere past the local stage to achieve something greater. In January of 2018, the band announced their signing with Imminence Records.
