Famined Records are proud to be announcing the addition of Sails of Serenity to their roster. The Turkish progressive metal/djent act will be releasing their debut album The Crossing full of killer tracks like "Castaway" or "The Ghost Ship." The ten song LP will drop on August 17th. In addition to the signing, we are also very excited to reveal the band's latest music video for the new "Left Behind" single. The track features guest vocalist Başer Çelebi of Furtherial. If you're a fan of other progressive and metalcore acts alike Erra, Tesseract, or Architects, you won't want to miss this one. The exclusive premiere of the single was hosted by Metal Injection and SpaceUntravel. Regarding the new single, the band stated:- "Inspired by Captain Ahab's story from Moby Dick, 'Left Behind' tells us about a man, estranged to himself by his convictions; a man left behind in a sense. This is symbolized in the music video as a man left alone in an island." They continued: "Being a part of the Famined Records family is a new and exciting step for us. With 'Left Behind' and our upcoming album The Crossing, we believe that we will achieve our main goal to make our music heard by people all around the world." Sails of Serenity is a group from Istanbul, Turkey consisting of vocalist Selim Devirek, guitarist Sercan Alkin, guitarist Harun Sekmen, and drummer Alter Güven. Their musical style merges djenty grooves with catchy vocal melodies all packaged together in an aggressive metalcore package. The band has previously released the Gold to Rust EP and "The Bitter End" single in 2016. Their upcoming LP, The Crossing, was mixed and mastered by Gabor Toth (Harmed) at Ghostship Recordings (Beyond Deviation, Swallowed Alive, Bloodbather). In addition to the guest appearance by Furtherial's Başer Çelebi on "Left Behind," the opening piece on the album will include orchestration by Eren Başbuğ (Dream Theater). The record will be available worldwide through Famined Records on August 17th, 2018. You can stream the new single on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and Spotify.

Many continents can lay claim to being formative breeding grounds for various pieces of the extreme metal puzzle, but perhaps none were such a melting pot as South America in the 1980s. Bands in Brazil, Chile, and other countries pushed thrash metal to its limits until it blurred into what would later be known as black and death metal, and dressed the whole thing in extreme expressions of occultism and hellfire. With that bed of influence bubbling beneath them, modern-day thrashers Hellish make perfect sense: tightened and refined (but only barely), without diminishing any of the speed-freak tendencies or punkish intensity of their predecessors, and certainly no less devoted to the left hand path. Coming out of Santiago, Chile in the 2010s, Hellish previously made believers out of thrash fans worldwide with their Unspeakable Axe-released debut, Grimoire. Only two years later, the follow-up album manages to out-pace and out-riff what came before. Classic speed metal-style riffs cut through an atmosphere of evil worthy of Bathory or Possessed - this is formative stuff, once again splashing around in the dark murk between thrash and black metal, and even straight-up heavy metal in the occasional, surprisingly melodic lead parts. But make no mistake: Hellish worship at the twin altars of evil and velocity, and The Spectre of Lonely Souls is a sermon strictly for the already-converted. www.facebook.com/Hellishchile/ http://unspeakableaxerecords.com unspeakableaxerecords.bandcamp.com/ www.facebook.com/unspeakableaxerecords https://twitter.com/UARMetal Black/death stronghold Embrace of Thorns stream the entirety of their highly anticipated fifth album, Scorn Aesthetics, at heavily trafficked web-portal IndyMetalVault.com. Set for international release on June 22nd via Iron Bonehead Productions, hear Embrace of Thorns' Scorn Aesthetics in its entirety exclusively HERE. For nearly 20 years now, Embrace of Thorns have built a prolific-yet-patient catalog that defies easy categorization. Deeply rooted in ancient black metal and death metal to be sure, these Greek iconoclasts' sound nevertheless has often been "too black metal" for most death metallers and "too death metal" for most black metallers - likewise, they pre-empted the bestial metal by at least four years, and later on solidified songwriting finesse far "too clean" for most bestial worshippers - and sadly, wider acclaim in the underground has eluded them. For those KNOW, though, the name Embrace of Thorns has come to mean a gold standard in black/death METAL, and while "acclaim" has never been in their lexicon, long-time supporters Iron Bonehead welcomes the band with the riveting Scorn Aesthetics. Whereas earlier Embrace of Thorns recordings - particularly their cult earliest albums, 2007's ...for I See Death in Their Eyes... and 2009's classic Atonement Ritual - melded the swarming, gibbering chaos of bestial black metal with the molten muscle of the most sepulchral death metal, with 2014's largely overlooked Darkness Impenetrable did the band cross a Rubicon, of sorts, into more streamlined and martial territory. It's a move that might've alienated the more underground-dwelling of Embrace of Thorns' potential fan-base, but one that made their name ever more unique, and they continue that upward/onward trajectory with Scorn Aesthetics. Encased in their most powerful and punishing production to date, which amplifies the band's growing clarity without sacrificing an ounce of grit, Scorn Aesthetics sees Embrace of Thorns firing on all cylinders...and then crushing them underfoot. Across the album's generous-yet-concise 43 minutes, each of these seven tracks builds with patience and poise, but somehow elusively convey a sense of explosion, detonation, immolation. The effect is one of vortextural churn 'n' spun, slipstreaming the listener into a roiling, ceaselessly humid mass but offering no hope nor reprieve. More generally, Scorn Aesthetics is built upon walls of RIFFS - be they "death metal," "black metal," or just pure METAL - all coalescing into an occult fury, immediately engaging every step of the way and memorable to the very end. Iron-willed and resolute, Embrace of Thorns challenge convention and stagnation with Scorn Aesthetics. Prepare to be flattened, or step aside like a coward. Leading up to the "Daño Colateral" physical release, Centauro have teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for the premiere of their new lyric video "Colmando un Oscuro Vacío" at the following link: http://puregrainaudio.com/videos/mexican-thrashers-centauro-light-up-with-their-colmando-un-oscuro-vacio-lyric-video-exclusive-premiere "Daño Colateral" is Centauro's third full-length adding to their existing repertoire of well worked classic thrash intertwined with hearty samples of elements from several metal sub-genres, most notably black and death, resulting in a recognizable, deep and unique sound. "Daño Colateral" is a concept album focused on the turbulent story of a person that was born into awful situations and throughout their life, continues to experience numerous setbacks even through effort and good will; a subjective message to decadence of society and modern system thoughts. Drummer Mario Rivera further explains: “The album is a story about a person that has been born from rape, that’s why this newborn is unwanted; So he and his brother work their way through the struggles of life until his brother dies. He gets angry with life and his resentment burns until he gets into prison for vandalism. In prison, he learns how to be a real criminal, and when he is released, he begins a path of violent crimes and killing until his madness makes him commit suicide.” The band purposely takes the listener through torrid moments to create atmospheres of deep anxiety, fear, anger, joy and depression. It’s a journey through emotions that evolve from one to another. This intense story that can be both heart wrenching and uplifting can be heard in full stream and downloaded on Spotify, Bandcamp, Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play. CD order will be available June 30th on Bandcamp and distributor Ablaze Productions. New track "Sworn in Denial - Omega Syndrome" is streaming at youtu.be/7d6krIt4Xjo Pre-orders are available now at this location. Appearing almost completely from thin air, Greek death metallers Gravewards made a small but intense impression with their 2017 demo Subconscious Lobotomy. That independently-released 4-track tape was the kind of death metal too rarely heard in recent years, having the spirit of the original bands but not married to any particular influence or scene. Rather than emulating an album or style they loved, Gravewards paid some homage to the sounds of the 1990s while finding their own way forward. Now their debut full-length Ruinous Ensoulment is here, and it delivers thoroughly on the promise and the mission statement of their demo. Seven bludgeoning tracks and one intro deep, this album has the band reaching a very early peak in their young career. Songs are technical without descending into wankery, often utilizing the kind of backward, nightmare-logic riffs that initially separated death metal from thrash, but which many bands now have either discarded in favour of straightforward Slayerisms or pushed to an incomprehensible extreme. Gravewards finds fertile ground in between, delivering one line after another that is somehow incredibly catchy but also very unique. These passages often give way to either groovy mid-tempo parts or bursts of full-on melody, without ever becoming saccharine - again, a degree of good taste is shown that is too rare in a genre where bands like to find what works and then double or triple down on it. Over these well-developed compositions, vocals are less growls than the shouts of a crazed demon choking on the blood of its enemies. Nothing about Ruinous Ensoulment is rote or easily expected; instead Gravewords marks out their own territory with the creativity and fearlessness that was more prevalent when the genre was still new. http://unspeakableaxerecords.com unspeakableaxerecords.bandcamp.com/ www.facebook.com/unspeakableaxerecords https://twitter.com/UARMetal Italian Southern Metallers The Red Coil teamed-up with Outlaws Of The Sun for the official streaming of their sophomore album.
