Defiatory are far from done with taking over the cyber space with their aggressive hard hitting Thrash Metal. Their impending new album "Hades Rising”, covers all the basses of what good metal should be. A fantastic trip to the Emergency room, to have neck fusion surgery, to repair it from the continuous beating it just received from this album.
New Noise Magazine premieres the 09th track “Bane Of Creation” exclusively HERE
Defiatory's thoughts on the song: “This is your typical apocalypse song where the dark serpent rises to swallow the sun and end the world. The end of all things will come in one form or another, no matter what deity people choose to worship.”
Defiatory was initiated in 2015 by Ronnie upon his departure from the prominent death metal band Aeon. Soon, Martin Runnzell joined the band to fill the vocal position, and the first demo track, “Furor Unleashed” saw the light of day within a week after the initial collaboration between Martin and Ronnie. Defiatory completed their debut “Extinct” (released via Black Lion Records in 2016) after completing the full line-up.
Defiatory is about to release their second album, aptly titled “Hades Rising”. The album marks the continuation of the band’s collaboration with Black Lion Records. "Hades Rising" carries on from the aggressive thrash metal sound established on the debut album, evolving into more rhythmic and melodic sessions, granting more variances without losing focus on what is important in the old school style of thrash metal. Taking influences from the Bay Area thrash masters, Defiatory flourishes their music through comprehensible production approach. The sophomore album, containing 11 tracks of relentless neck-wrecking thrash metal, with an amazing artwork painted by Mika Rudin, will be released this May 11 on CD formats.
Defiatory has already released the music video of the track “In Hell”, an ultimate sonical ride to the menacing combat zone. Gigs and tours will be followed to support the album.
Denmark's Taphos sets release date for debut album; reveals first tracks, to tour with Degial in May
Blood Harvest Records and Helter Skelter Productions set June 8th as the international release date for Taphos' highly anticipated debut album, Come Ethereal Somberness, on CD and 12" vinyl formats.
Hot on the heels of Blood Harvest's compilation of the band's first two recordings as Demo MMXVI & 7" EP MMXVII, garnering widespread acclaim and heightening anticipation for their first full-length, at last arrives Taphos' Come Ethereal Somberness. As a debut LP, Come Ethereal Somberness does everything it should: stay consistent to a band's sound established on their demos whilst pointing toward new avenues. Here, Taphos do both, and then some.
Hailing from the same Danish scene as Undergang and Phrenelith, Taphos create a classic - and classically gutted - style of Metal of Death. Their first recording, Demo MMXVI, possessed a darkly thrashing sound highly reminiscent of turn-of-the-'90s death metal on both sides of the Atlantic, as resolutely Scandinavian as it was American, its filthy propulsion as palatably fresh as it was authentically ancient. On the subsequent two-song EP, Taphos' sound becomes more world-eating, their songwriting aims more epic whilst not losing the raw fury of their beginnings.
Now, with Come Ethereal Somberness, they synthesize the two stylistic shifts into something both berzerker and epic, manic and finesse in equal measures. Indeed, Taphos are firing on all songwriting cylinders here, as the energy literally bursts off the charts but retains a sense of composure and daresay class rarely scene in full-blooded death metal. Hammering and hideous yet nevertheless invoking a clarity that never castrates their attack, the quartet render each of these seven central compositions (bookended by moody instrumentals) a story unto itself. Hell, the titles themselves tell that story - "Ocular Blackness," "Insidious Gyres," and the equally telltale "Thrive in Upheaval" and "Impending Peril" among them - and that story is horrific.
New nightmares are here, then, and Taphos will be taking them on the road with a full European tour this May alongside Swedish comrades Degial (dates after the jump). Until then, as its title ominously proclaims, Come Ethereal Somberness! Hear two new tracks off the album, the aforementioned "Thrive in Upheaval" and "Impending Peril" HERE at Blood Harvest's Bandcamp. Pre-order info can be found HERE.

HEXED was formed in 2015 by vocalist/songwriter Tina and lead-guitarist/ songwriter Stellan Gunnarsson in Uppsala, Sweden. Both of them played in several bands before and had an early history in the metalscene and of music composing. Now they wanted to create and write music together, something completely new.
They started writing songs and soon they knew exactly what kind of sound they were aiming for. Since both of them had the source of inspiration from bands such as Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory and Pagans Mind they knew that they wanted to create metal music with focus on strong and powerful vocals combined with melodic guitars.
When they had the songs ready and the preproduction was about to start they had to find members who got the quality's required to setup the band. The driven bassist Daniel Håkansson who played earlier in other metal bands, were chosen to take place along with the experienced musician Teddy Möller on drums. HEXED was now formed and complete as a band.
The debut single and lyric video release ”Dreams” was launched in the beginning of May 2016. The debut album "Netherworld" was recorded and produced in 2017. HEXED released their second official music video ”Exhaling Life”. This song and video contains guest vocals from Thomas Vikström and was filmed and produced by the talented Magnus Ewald who also produced videos for Liv Sin, Crucified Barbara, Firespawn, etc. "Exhaling Life" was also released as a limited edition promo EP in March 2017.
The interest and response for HEXED music after the releases have been overwhelming. HEXED got several proposals to consider and are very proud for the decision to sign a worldwide deal with Thomas Hörnkvist and ViciSolum Productions. This Swedish label already have several established bands in its row, such as Persefone, Loch Vostok and Divine Ascension.

The band comments, “This track is for the ones mighty fallen, for the spirits of the old, for the ones who paved the way and made us proud and strong,”
In the frozen vastland of Europe's northernmost realms, a new slithering seed is festering at the heart of the Swedish scene - Night Crowned. A spawn formed from an unholy communion between current and previous members of the underground elite such as The Crown, Dark Funeral, Nightrage and Cipher system, this infestation is set to grow from a rumoured disease into a full-scale pandemic.
Night Crowned's musical vision is as clear as it is putrid; a reawakening of sounds dormant from the most influential acts and masterpieces of the Scandinavian 90's, although with all the advantages of a cutting edge, surgically precise production.
With a combined catalogue of over thirty full-length albums, this degenerate infant is procreated from seasoned and battle-hardened veterans, although with all the hunger that only such a gluttonous monster can possess.
There will be no warning. No antidote, and no remedy. At first you will feel nauseous, then your body will be covered in black boils, and finally both your mind and and matter will have been thoroughly infected by the blight that is - Night Crowned.
This song is the first taste of the Nordic sound we have created with Night Crowned. A mix of all good things from the north. Old and new ways mixed.
Ken Romlin - Vocals
Marcus Sunesson - Guitars (ex The Crown)
Johan Eskilsson - Guitars (Cipher System)
Janne Jaloma - Drums (Dark Funeral/session)
Henric Liljesand - Bass (ex Nightrage)
Falun – the magical city in the heart of Sweden, surrounded by idyllic forests and blue lakes emerges more and more as a creative centre for ambitious and talented young bands. Is it in the water? Is it in the air? No one knows, but it remains a fact that Falun is the glorious birthplace of some of the most promising and hottest acts on this planet. After spawning bands like Sabaton, Twilight Force, Civil War and Billion Dollar Babies, Falun now has a new up-and-coming crew in stock. Follow The Cipher are ready to herald in a new musical era and crash through the many dimensions of our universe to steal your breath. Despite their stylistic diversity, the Swedish metal act creates a very cohesive ambiance, mixing first class sound with magical charisma, an innovative concept, live presence and an incredibly talented vocalist.
Let's take a little look into the past; Follow The Cipher‘s story started in May 2014, when Ken Kängström decided to start a band with the intention to be different from everything else out there. The idea itself had been haunting his mind for years, but the catalyst to finally put his thoughts into action was the result of a long-time collaboration with the internationally acclaimed metal giants Sabaton, with whom Follow The Cipher maintain a close friendship. Ken Kängström is definitely not a newcomer in the Scandinavian music scene, since he wrote and produced some well known Sabaton songs such as the monumental anthem ’Carolus Rex‘. It was this track which got the ball rolling: "I think the song sparked the first inspiration in me – in particular, it was responsible for me starting to trust my own abilities and judgment," Ken reflects. "When I wrote this track, I felt deep inside that it was time to put my plans with Follow The Cipher into action." Therefore, the band has also included a version of this important track, ’Carolus Rex‘, on their debut album.
Something unique was born, growing to become a mixture between Nightwish, In Flames and Sabaton, yet creating something completely different and innovative. "I consider our music as both visual and cinematic," says Ken. "The sound is large scaled and multi-layered - each element plays an important role within the overall concept. You can listen to our music in two different ways; either by focusing on the individual, versatile elements like the keyboard melodies or Linda's powerful voice, or you can indulge in the whole package.“
The Cipher crew consists of five talented members; Linda Toni Grahn, equipped not only with a powerful and characteristic voice, but also outstanding charisma. When taking to the stage, all it takes are a few seconds for Linda to capture everyone‘s attention. "Linda is unique - she stands out from the crowd not only as a great singer, but also as a charismatic personality! Immediately after meeting her, I knew she would be the right person for us!” Ken Kängström (guitar) recalls the first meeting with the captain of the Cipher workforce. Other crew members include Karl Löfgren (drums), Viktor Carlsson (guitar) and Jonas Asplind (bass).
Follow The Cipher is an ambitious troop, not only do they express their passion through their music, but also through their extravagant outfits and impressive live shows. Therefore it didn‘t come as surprise that the world‘s biggest metal label, Nuclear Blast, signed them after experiencing the band live at Sabaton Open Air 2017. "We had them on our radar for the past two years, we were convinced of the song quality and appreciated the commitment of the members. Eventually, the determining factor was their outstanding live performance, which proved to us that Follow The Cipher have everything they need," states Markus Wosgien A&R of the German metal label. The band adds: "We are super excited to be a part of the biggest independent metal label in the world. This collaboration will shock the heavy metal ground, and is for sure a dream coming true for all of us."
To cut a long story short, the Cipher crew is more than ready to take you on an exciting journey through the darkest galaxies of metal. It's time to open a new chapter of heavy metal history.
