Stream the song here: http://echoesanddust.com/2017/08/throne-of-heresy-decameron-review-exclusive-track-premiere/
The band commented:
"We are proud to reveal the track Siege of Caffa from our upcoming concept album Decameron. This is the third track on the album, depicting the horrors of early biological warfare as the Golden Horde catapulted plague-ridden bodies into the city of Caffa. This heinous act precipitated the spread of the disease in Europe, killing millions. A fitting theme for a track on an album chronicling the Black Death."
True avant-garde Norwegians Enslaved have announced the release of their epic new studio album for October 13th 2017. This 14th full-length masterpiece sets the musical mind-twisters free from genre boundaries and offers an unprecedented mix of prog, extreme metal and shoegaze on 8 tracks with a playing time of more than an hour. Elegantly titled ‘E’, the album was once again written by the unholy alliance of guitarist Ivar Bjørnson (music, lyrics) and singer/bassist Grutle Kjellson (lyrics) and marks the introduction of their new keyboard master and clean vocalist Håkon Vinje. Mixed and mastered at the Fascination Street Studios by the renowned Jens Bogren, ‘E’ heralds a new era for Enslaved. Its cover artwork was once again hand-painted by the Norwegian artist Truls Espedal. Nearly three years in the making, black metal legends Satyricon have revealed their highly anticipated ninth studio album, 'Deep calleth upon Deep' is set for release on 22nd September via Napalm Records. The opus will be available in digital format, CD digipak and gatefold vinyl options and is now available for pre-order HERE!
The band recently unveiled initial album details and the album’s artwork, an obscure drawing from 1898 by perhaps the greatest Norwegian artist of all time, Edvard Munch.
Recorded in Oslo, Norway and Vancouver, Canada, during early 2017 and mixed together with revered studio guru Mike Fraser (who previously worked on Satyricon’s 2006 album, ‘Now, Diabolical’), ‘Deep calleth upon Deep’ is not just a new collection of songs from one of extreme music’s most enduring and reliable bands: this is a wholesale reinvention and a brand new era in Satyricon history.
Says frontman and visionary Satyr: “Approaching this release, what I always kept in mind is that either this is the beginning of something new or it’s gonna be my last record. If this is going to be the last, then it needs to be something special. If there are more records, then I’d better make sure that this is so different from the last one that it feels like a new beginning. I think it’s really, really dark, very spiritual and filled with confidence and energy.”
'Deep calleth upon Deep' is a profound statement about the essence of Satyricon’s music and the eternal value of art itself. Satyr continues, “The way that I see it is that for any art, be it Satyricon or any other form of art with substance, in order for you to be able to inhale and completely understand it, it will take a little bit of you as well. If you get it all after a couple of listens, you know that it probably won’t stay with you. So the title is saying, ‘From the depth of the people making this record to the depth of the listener…’ If you want to take part in this journey, you should be prepared to dig deep down in the darkest corner of your soul with us."
Satyricon have always excelled as a live band, their evocative performances increasingly becoming special events as their frequency is dialled back to accommodate the Oslo band’s new ‘modus operandi’. In support of 'Deep calleth upon Deep' the band is set to tour on the following dates:

Swedish Melodic Death / Thrash squad Mordenial is all set to release their sophomore full length "The Plague" on 31st July via Black Lion Records. The best way to describe the music is when crunchy groovy elements bump into some exquisite melody driven death metal music.
No Clean Singing is exclusively streaming the album, earlier before the actual release date.
"The music is also immensely powerful in its sound, and immensely punishing in its impact, and those grim melodies prove to be as infectious as the contagions that have inspired the album."
"In 2014, we started to work with our second album "The Plague". We had some lyrics as well as fragments for the title track. The writing went slow for a while but at the beginning of 2015, we managed to put 10 songs together that we all were satisfied with.
The songs were recorded late 2015 after a lot of technical problems during the recording. We contacted Roberto Toderico who did the artwork for "Where The Angels Fall" and he did an awesome artwork that fits well with the concept of the album.
"The Plague" is basically 10 different songs that all deal with the concept "Plague", all from a futuristic perspective to a more ancient perspective. The lyrical aspects are also about how people justify terrible act by pretending to be chosen by god or gods.
The album is a mixture of different types of metal. We are not bound to boundaries when we create songs for Mordenial. Our definition of the "The Plague" is a heavy album with a lot of variation. We are very satisfied with the outcome of the songs and hopefully you will like it to."

Kjetil Lynghaug — Lead Guitar
Martin — Guitar, Bass

In 2016, Swedish Death / Black Metal specialists Necrophor entered Sunlight Studio for a third time, this time with the purpose to record their first full-length album. It took almost 6 months from the start to the finished album with the group not wanting to rush through any step of the process. The result is Reborn, containing nine tracks infused with the essence of chaos..
This is not a band that wallows in self-promotion, this is not a band looking for gimmicks and fads… Necrophor want to be taken on their own terms and let the music do the talking. So hop onto the roller coaster, this is purely a one way ticket!
“Like it, hate it or just be indifferent – it does not matter.”
“The Word will take root and in due time manifest itself within the depths of your being”
Reborn | Released June 8th, 2017 on Sliptrick Records
Swedish Symphonic Black metal DSBM band Mist Of Misery is back with a new EP Shackles Of Life
Shackles Of Life and Fields Of Isolation were written and recorded during 2016 in studio Forlorn Halls and on various private locations around Stockholm.
The band comments: "The themes on both EP's vary quite a lot from our earlier works, but the original concept of Mist Of Misery is still there. Those who have heard our latest release, Absence, will surely find some similarities to both that album and also to our earlier releases."
The EP features guest vocals from Paolo Bruno of Thy Light and Georg of Coldworld. Artwork was done by talented Russian artist Alex Tartsus. Link
Iron Bonehead Productions sets July 28th as the international release date for Urn's highly anticipated fourth album, The Burning. One of the Finnish underground's longest-running yet best-kept secrets, Urn have been flying the flag of hate for unholy black / thrash since 1994. Founded by ex-Barathrum guitarist Sulphur, Urn have been a study in delayed-gratification patience and trend-bucking defiance. Their 2001 debut LP 666 Megatons sounded exactly like that, detonating a nuclear blast of classic black / thrash-cum-speed metal, which was further roughed up and refined on the successive LPs Dawn of the Devastation (2006) and Soul Destroyers (2008). But just as Urn had seemingly perfected their addicting 'n' acidic style, their classic power-trio line-up disintegrated and it was up to Sulphur to rebuild the band again. And rebuild, the bass-playing frontman did, as The Burning is the triumphant phoenix from the ashes.
Still maintaining that power-trio formation but now featuring a new line-up that includes guitarist Too Loud and drummer Revenant, The Burning literally explodes with an excitement that's long been missing in black metal - suitably so, as it's Urn's first new recording in nearly a decade. Well rested, then, but certainly not resting on past laurels, Urn here fire off one veritable anthem after another with an urgency that's startling to behold; the energy and passion are writ large across The Burning, and absolutely impossible to contain. And yet, for all its immediacy, there's a certain grace and grandeur to The Burning that Urn have never revealed before: a wide-open, widescreened "man on the mountain" type of atmosphere that makes this pure black HEAVY METAL all the more majestic. However, let it be known that these Finnish bastards still revel in the dirt, just that now they've delivered their rancorous visions in a recording that's their most robust and powerful to date.
Feel The Burning? It's Urn, 666% back with a bestial invasion in the sign of evil! Bow before its first sign HERE at Iron Bonehead's Soundcloud with the new track "Sons of the Northern Star." Cover art, by Rok of Sadistik Exekution, and tracklisting are above.
