With their third full-length album "Det Nya Svarta" set for release on the 7th April on Indie Recordings, Sweden's Alfahanne have revealed a track from the album. Titled "Stigmata", the band explained that the track "is about our home town. How you are born full of hope for the future, but the raw climate destroys you and the town drags you down".
"Stigmata" can be heard on YouTube at https://youtu.be/uKg2mBrn-T0
Recorded at the Dödskult studio by Alfahanne's Pehr Skjoldhammer and Mixed and mastered by Stamos Koliousis, "Det Nya Svarta" follows the Alfahanne tradition of including some high profile artists making guest appearances. Artists which in the past have included Taake’s Hoest, Shining's Niklas Kvarforth, HELHEIM’s V’gandr, KVELERTAK frontman Erlend Hjelvik, Spellgoth from HORNA and TURMION KÄTILÖT, and Nattfursth from SORHIN, not just on their first two albums, but also live on stage
Guests making an appearance on "Det Nya Svarta" include KAMPFAR's Dolk, David Lindh from YVONNE AND BRODER DANIEL, Sanrabb from GEHENNA and Nadine Skjoldhammer.
Formed in Eskilstuna in 2010, the self-styled “Alfapokalyptic Rockers” burst onto the scene with energy, exuberance, and an impressive swagger, which, coupled with a fan-friendly attitude quickly earned them respect, and an ever-increasing, and dedicated, following. Alfahanne 's debut full-length album “Alfapokalyps” appeared on Dark Essence Records in 2014 and was followed by "Blod Eld Alfa" in 2015.
The band's lineup of Pehr Skjoldhammer on Vocals and Guitar, Fredrik Sööberg on Guitars, Niklas Åström on Drums and Jimmy Wiberg on Bass, have a couple of decades of experience under their belts in bands like VINTERLAND and early MAZE OF TORMENT. Together they have created a sound that mixes Black Metal with Classic Rock and Punk, and good old Rock n Roll that is unmistakably ALFAHANNE's.
Frontman Skjoldhammer recently explained that with their third full-length album Alfahanne are continuing to explore the dark side of mankind: "Alfahanne's lyrics are very personal and have many layers of dirt. Once you dig deeper into them you find many truths as I see them. Alfahanne will never lean to the left or to the right or write about political issues. The only political issue that is close to our hearts is equal rights but the flipside of that same coin is that we think everyone is equally.... Equally useless."
"Det Nya Svarta" is now available to pre-order in CD and Vinyl formats from http://shop.indierecordings.no/artist/16189--alfahanne and in Digital format from https://itunes.apple.com/no/album/det-nya-svarta/id1202165056?
Confirmed live appearances for Alfahanne include the By:Larm Festival in Oslo, Norway in March and In Flammen Open Air in Torgau, Germany in July. More dates to be announced shortly.

Directed by the legendary Patric Ulleaus, it is everything you have come to expect of an Amaranthe video and much more! Perhaps the most ambitious video from the band so far, it is packed to the brim with action, glitter and glamour - you can try to bring us down, but we'll come around, like a Boomerang!"
In other Amaranthe news, singer Jake E. has confirmed his exit from the band. Below is his statement on the matter.
"After eight years and four albums, I have decided to leave Amaranthe. I am extremely proud of the band and what we've accomplished together.
"Amaranthe have the most AMAZING fans and they have given me so much during the years, which I am extremely grateful for. I want to thank them all for always supporting me during the highs and the lows - without YOU we would be NOTHING. "Thank you for these years and I hope to meet you again soon!"

After spending some time with the brothers relatives in the deep south of Louisiana bayou, taught how to make moonshine, fixin old rusty cars, fishing and of course playing some music with the locals. They went back home to deliver a heavy mix of hard rock, metal, hardcore and a twist of blues or as they say Hillbilly metal.

Sweden's Zonetripper releases 'Disconnected' music video feat. Fredrik Reinedahl (Solstafir, Opeth, In Flames)
Swedish metal band Zonetripper released a music video for 'Disconnected', it's the first single out of their debut album, due for release later this year. Zonetripper was formed by metal and rock producer Fredrik Reinedahl (Solstafir, Peter Dolving, Opeth, In Flames). The video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/QLTLIUELR-M
The video was shot by Ninja Agborn in support of Standing Rock and the water protectors there - to commemorate the Wounded Knee massacre.
Zonetripper was formed by metal and rock producer Fredrik Reinedahl, known for producing, engineering and mixing bands like Solstafir, Peter Dolving, Opeth, In Flames, Burst, Gadget and more, with the idea to reinvigorate the metal scene by taking what he learned from growing up as a metal fan and fusing it together into a something fresh, something never heard before. Everything from blues to thrash metal, from psychedelia to pop. There are no limits, that was the basic idea.
Songs came together quickly, but forming the band took some time. Numerous singers have passed the door, among them Peter Dolving from The Haunted (now in I Am Fire and Dress The Dead) and Krummi Bjorgvins (Legend).
Now the band consists of some known faces from the Gothenburg metal and punk scene. The bass is handled by none other than Martyrdöd vocalist Mikael Kjellman. Kalle Persson from Skitsystem joined Zonetripper on drums last spring, together with keyboard player Niklas Abrahamsson. The band is fronted by vocalist Anette Lith, who has a background as a singer and dancer in musicals and shows across the globe.
The band have recorded it's first album and is looking to release it in 2017. In the meantime, the band will do as much touring as possible

"The Blackened Heart" contains a nice mix of heavy and up tempo songs, all with their own strong and grasping melodies. Enbound prove with "The Blackened Heart" that they can handle any angle of melodic metal. Like on their debut album, the characteristic powerful arrangements remain with the fantastic and emotional vocals from Lee Hunter on top.
The album was mastered by Jacob Hansen [Amaranthe, Volbeat, Primal Fear] and guests on the album includes Linnéa Wikström [Kamelot, Therion] and Mike LePond [Symphony X].
Vanhelga are a Swedish Black Metal who have been going for around 15 years and have just unleashed their fourth opus 'Ode & Elegy'. In support of their new album, the deep-thinking quartet have unveiled their latest music video for the first track taken from the new album. "Utan Mening" explores the endlessly repeating cycle of aridity that passes for life. The video is directed by J. Ejnarsson and features A. Rohtsalu in the role of a depressed young woman slipping further and further into darkness and despair from which she is unable to escape. Footage of the band is also included in the video.
Sweden's Vanhelga straddle themselves across the general Black and Depressive Suicidal Black Metal styles, all whilst they use deceptively melodic pieces to create disturbing scenarios, therefore not for the faint of heart or emotionally unstable. The album artwork was designed by Gedeminas Kiauné of Manum Diaboli Art.
Vanhelga have a backdrop behind the album title and explain it as thus:-

Avatar have unleashed another visually stunning music video with long time director Johan Carlén at the helm, for their next single 'Night Never Ending' take of their latest album 'Feathers & Flesh' out now via Another Century.
Check it out here: http://vevo.ly/Iaab7V
"It's is a special song, being probably the most upbeat and, dare I say, happy piece we've ever released" says frontman Johannes Eckerström. "But under the surface of the fragile message of hope and fighting spirit it is little more than a prelude to a tragedy and that is what we set out to capture when we decided to make a video for it".
"It is very close to my heart for being the one video where there is no "rocking out" going on and we get to capture a side of Avatar that is just as integral as the good, headbanging times we love sharing with our supporters all around the world. There are few things in this world as beautiful and fascinating as contrasts and this is what all of Feathers & Flesh is all about. Hope and tragedy".
The new video drops just a few months after the band debuted 'The Eagle Has Landed' video, also directed by Carlén, the first official music video from the band's most recent LP.
With past buzzworthy videos like 'Bloody Angel' and 'Hail The Apocalypse', Avatar continues to raise the bar for what bands are doing visually in the current state of hard rock and metal.
The aim is set higher, further and deeper than ever before for AVATAR. Not only is this first concept album their most extensive work to date, showing the widest range of any of their albums, it also contains a story too extensive for any booklet, so they made a book. A fully illustrated 60 page, 109 verse poem hard-cover book.
