Hells Headbangers are proud to announce that the 16th April will be the international release date for Impious Baptism's debut album release "Wrath of the Apex Predator".

Once again, Hells Headbangers unearths filthy black gems from down under, "Wrath of the Apex Predator", the debut album by Australian Black / Death Metal one-man project Impious Baptism comes as a revelation after a couple of well-received EPs, including the Hells Headbangers self-issued "Path of the Inverted Trinity 7".

The sole creation of longtime scene veteran J. (Nocturnal Garves, ex-Destruktor, ex-Destroyer 666), Impious Baptism bellows desecrating black metal in the ancient tradition of the early South American and Finnish masters. Flowing from choking doom to grinding, black filth and imbued with a powerful, full-bodied production that amplifies every abyssal note, Impious Baptism drags you down into the depths and then deeper - feel the Wrath of the Apex Predator!

Danish Black Metallers Blodarv release new music video

30/1/2013

Above is the latest music video by the most exciting black metal band from Denmark in recent times, Blodarv's "A Snowy Night in November"

Below you can check out exclusively eleven tracks spanning Blodarv's 14-year career

Danish Black Metallers Blodarv have released a video for “A Snowy Night In November”, a track from their newly released album “Gâst”.

The video was filmed during January of this year in the Northland region of Bornholm, the island home of founder and frontman Hugin, and features appearances from Blodarv members Satinae Ma (clean vocals) and Pestilens (lead guitars), as well as Hugin himself.

“Gâst” which is the band’s fourth full-length album, was released on Self Mutilation Services at the end of last year, and, like all of Blodarvs releases, contains a mix of tracks in both Danish and English. Drawing his inspiration from the myths and legends and rich history of Bornholm, Hugin’s lyrics take the listener on a journey through a world inhabited by powerful demons, haunted souls and tragic destinies. The title, “Gâst”, is in the Bornholmsk (Burgundian) dialect and refers to a type of a ghost demon or energy which has the ability to possess mortals and inspire in much the same way as a muse.

Blodarv recently expanded its lineup with the addition of Fjorgynn on drums and Huul on live session bass. The band is pretty much self-sufficient when it comes to recording both albums and videos as well as producing artwork, with all the work being done at Hugin’s purpose-built Hammer and Art Studios, which also provides a multitude of services for bands wanting to record in the spectacular settings that the island of Bornholm provides.

Canadian Black Metal newcomers Wilt to release s/t debut on vinyl via War On Music Records‏

29/1/2013

Picture
Emerging bold and grim upon the vast and barren fields of Canadian black metal, Wilt have announced their s/t debut will be released on vinyl by Canadian label War on Music Records.

Black metal may have never sounded so dark and deprived. The album takes you on a visceral journey into your mind and into the crevices of the Earth. With influences rooting from Agalloch, Winterfylleth, Woods Of Ypres, WITTR, Altar Of Plagues, and many more, they hinder their own true and unique sound, moving beyond any regional comparison, and gnawing a distinct withered mark upon the genre of black metal.

This four track EP runs just shy of 30 minutes. Artwork comes courtesy of Sam Nelson and the logo was done by The Lord of Logos, Christophe Szpajdel. Dan Lowndes handled mastering duties.

Wilt : Self Titled
was made available late Oct 2012 as a digital download at wiltmanitoba.bandcamp.com - and since that time has been received as nothing short of a sensational debut by a new and important band on the Canadian metal landscape.

The vinyl will be released early spring 2013 as an exclusive limited run on Frost-white 180g color vinyl. One time pressing, 300 copies. Visit www.waronmusic.com for more information.

In other news, Wilt has been added to the Torment In Fire Metalfest II, which takes place at Dicken's Pub in Calgary, Alberta, Canada from April 4th - 6th.

The band issued the following statement:

"We are beyond thrilled to announce our involvement in one of the finest fests in Western Canada, Torment in Fire II. To perform alongside such legendary and amazing acts is beyond words. This show will be one of the first out of province appearances that we will performing at. We are ecstatic to perform songs from our debut album that has been well received in all parts of the world and most importantly meeting all of you. In celebration of this appearance we have enlisted Stavros of The Atlas Moth to create an exclusive shirt available at the fest only."
