Finnish melancholic melodic death metal band Dead Serenity has released second single from their upcoming debut album. The song 'Evanecent' is drawing inspiration from the presence of Death and the disintegration of close relationships. It's a bittersweet expression of a search for meaning in life from which all light has been drained. Perfect for cold, dark nights when contemplating life, death and lost love. Dead Serenity is a 5-piece founded in 2018. On their music the band focuses on strong melodies. On lyrics they let the full scale of human emotions and behaviour carry the music from an atmosphere to another - from sensibility to ecstasy and from distress to aggression. The band released their debut EP "Beginnings" in 2020 and the first full length "When Worlds Turn To Gray" follows early 2023. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Dead Serenity's guitarist and main composer Toni Lind. Graphics and lyric video is created by Jonas Eriksson.
Napalm Records proudly announces the signing of Finnish melodic death metal band Before The Dawn! Formed in 1999, chart-cracking Before The Dawn reigned as one of the most successful Finnish metal bands of the early 2000’s, and since their burial in 2013, hundreds of thousands of new fans have discovered their music on streaming platforms, entirely without promotion or labels involved. Did the music find the people, or the people find the music - one can’t be sure, but after being inactive for almost a decade, Before The Dawn now returns stronger than ever! Before The Dawn are currently back in the studio and ready to take to stages with a brand new line-up. The band originated as Finnish Metal Award winning Tuomas Saukkonen’s (Wolfheart) solo project, but throughout the years, there have been several line-up changes. With the new exciting line-up, the band introduces its biggest changes so far. Previous guitarist and vocalist Saukkonen has moved behind the drums, and talented Voice Of Finland 2022 finalist Paavo Laapotti has taken on all vocalist duties. The Finns have fully transformed into their new power and are ready to reconquer the scene! Sebastian Münch, A&R, Napalm Records states: “Tuomas Saukkonen and I have been working together with Wolfheart for a couple years now and from time to time we talked about bringing Before The Dawn back. Last year, when the band released the single 'The Final Storm', I was absolutely amazed by how good the new song turned out. Now being part of releasing a new full length studio album, and it being the first one in over a decade, is a great honour!” Tuomas Saukkonen comments on the signing: “One cornerstone of the Before The Dawn comeback plan and fundamental criteria was that we needed to find strong enough partners, in addition to our long time Fin label Stay Heavy Records, that will raise the band to a whole new level after a decade of slumber. We could not be happier about the newly signed contract with the mighty Napalm Records and we are absolutely ecstatic for the fact that the new Before The Dawn album will be in the best possible hands when it sees the light of the day worldwide in 2023.” Before The Dawn are:
Finnish melodic death metal band Admire the Grim is set to release their debut EP Rogue Five on January 13th 2023 via Inverse Records. The first single Rogue Five was released earlier with a music video. The second single The Flood is released today and it's available on all essential streaming platforms: https://push.fm/fl/atg-flood Vocalist Katri Snellman comments on The Flood Single: “The Flood was the first song that we wrote together. Jani came up with the idea for the instruments and I wrote the vocal and lyric lines. The lyrics are about the feeling of drowning into your own thoughts, described with a lot of metaphors”. Guitarist Jani Loikkanen comments on Rogue Five Single: “My goal was to write a song that has a catchy chorus and lead parts. There’s good energy and spirit for a sweet party. I wrote the intro riff first and that set the song up for a fast paced guitar riffage. And to be honest, this is definitely a song for guitar maniacs”.
Admire the Grim is a melodic death metal band from Lappeenranta, Finland. The group was formed by five friends in early 2021. In May 2022 the band released its first single ‘Storm the Barricade’ and in September 2022 music video and single for ‘Rogue Five’ saw the daylight. In November 2022 the second single ‘The Flood’ from ‘Rogue Five’ EP was released and the EP itself is published on January 2023 via Inverse Records. Line-up:

"I Am Human" is a track taken from the band's album "The Storm Is Over", out via Wormholedeath worldwide. Band statement: "We wanted the music video for "I Am Human" to be aggressive, simple, and straight to the point. Nothing too fancy about the story elements. Close to how you would see us play live. We had an absolute blast filming and all credit for how the video turned out goes to Juho Jokimies. We can't thank him enough!" Enjoy the video!" Combining all genres of northern metal, Arctora will take you on a journey through a landscape of the soul. Through summer storms and raging blizzards, from the quiet woodlands to vast forests of snow. A promise of hope and the inevitable feeling of melancholy. Swedish metal vets At The Gates announce the return of founding member and guitarist Anders Björler6/10/2022 While Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates continue to promote their acclaimed latest studio album, The Nightmare Of Being, they have now checked in after a North American tour as well as an intense run of Summer festivals across Europe and in Japan with the news that founding member and guitarist Anders Björler is returning to the band’s line-up after a handful of years of absence. At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg Redant comments the news: “It is with great pleasure we welcome Anders Björler, one of the founding members, back into the band. We are excited to tell you that we are already starting the work on the follow up to The Nightmare of Being, with the same line up that wrote Terminal Spirit Disease, Slaughter of the Soul, and At War with Reality. Anders' first show back in the band will be Damnation Fest in the UK, and he will join us on the European tour together with In Flames later this year. Great times! It really feels like a second rebirth of the band, and we are looking forward to this new chapter!" Anders Björler added the following comment: “It feels like coming home for sure. I have been missing the guys of course, but also playing the guitar, writing music and the artistic creativity in general. I've been watching from the side-lines for a number of years, and I've been very proud of what they have created in my absence. I am really looking forward to writing a new album and getting back to playing live shows again." Tomas Lindberg Redant added the following comment about the upcoming tour with In Flames: “We are very excited about finally being able to play in front of our European fans in support of our latest album The Nightmare Of Being. This time we will hit the road with our long-time friends In Flames. It’s such a weird fact that we have actually never toured together, although we are from the same town! So this will be a great opportunity to experience “The Gothenburg sound”, and it is awesome to be part of such a strong package. We can't wait to get out there again!” At The Gates’ latest studio album, The Nightmare Of Being, was released last Summer via Century Media Records and scored impressive chart entries worldwide upon initial release in July as follows: Germany: # 8, Austria: # 18, Switzerland: # 12, Sweden: # 20, Sweden (Physical): # 1, Sweden (Vinyl): # 1, Sweden (Hardrock/Metal): # 2, The Netherlands: # 77, Belgium: # 84, Finland: # 21, Finland (Physical): # 5, UK (Rock): # 3, USA (Current Hard Music Albums): #1, USA (Current Rock Albums): #4, USA (Current Album Sales): #14. Listen to the single HERE, and watch the video, HERE. Vocalist Johannes Eckerström states: "There is a sickness, a stranger, and a harmful way. A twisted landscape untouched by the sun. I leave the rest up to either you or me, but never both at the same time. You can only enter this place alone, and my path isn't yours. Your secret is safe with me, but so is mine." Avatar enjoyed quite a productive summer, traipsing North America on a successful headline tour. They next embarked on some of the biggest shows of their career - a trek with Iron Maiden, supporting the band in stadiums in Brazil. Avatar also played arenas supporting Sabaton and secured major festival appearances globally with INKcarceration, Cadott Fest, Summer Breeze, and Bloodstock. As for Avatar's mission? There are no weapons on this planet that can challenge the might of the electric guitar. For decades, metal has been the most powerful force known to man. It's sonic teeth have gnawed through the status quo over and over, pushing the boundaries for what can be created in the marriage between blood and machine. If Mount Rushmore were to be carved for all the titans of the genre, it would span the entire globe many times over. It's a burning beacon for the misfits and the rebels. As time has passed, much of the scene has become divided in two equally stale camps. The first is forever stuck in the past, no longer seeking to lead. The second are those who have forgotten the most important ingredients to what made metal what it was and must remain. They've lost touch with the Devil. They've forgotten how to move. In a genre best experienced with your whole body, they've lost the lust. Avatar, however, have not lost anything. It is with this fire in their bellies that they continue to craft their next album. "Let not your heart be turned to stone, By all manner of earthly woes" Dutch melodic death / metalcore faction For I Am King are back with their new single 'Liars'3/9/2022 Dutch metal band For I Am King make a staggering return with new single ‘Liars’, which is their first release in four years. Their previous (and most recent) musical achievement was 2018's sophomore album 'I', the follow-up to 2016's debut album 'Daemons'. The release of 'Liars' also comes with the new and exciting addition of drummer Ivo Maarhuis (ex-Izegrim). Check out the accompanying music video below. "The past few years have been strange for all of us. The constant uncertainty about whether or not shows would go through, took a heavy toll on us. Yet, this period has also given us the space to work hard on new music and take the time to do so. This resulted in our best, hardest and most detailed work to date. We can now look forward to a period full of live shows and new music with a lot of enthusiasm", guitarist Koen Scheepens explains. "The release of 'Liars' symbolises the beginning of a new era for us. We are leaving the pandemic behind us and starting a new fantastic chapter: we are back and going harder than ever!", vocalist Alma Alizadeh adds. Since their formation in 2013, For I Am King have released two albums ('Daemons' in 2016 and 'I' from 2018) both of which received international acclaim from fans and critics alike. They have played countless shows worldwide including in Japan, China and Europe, plus a number of high profile festivals such as, Jera On Air, Wacken, Zwarte Cross, Metal Days, Eurosonic-Noorderslag, FortaRock, Full Force and more. |
