Finnish modern melodic death metallers Dimman release first single from their upcoming debut album17/4/2021 Finnish modern melodic death metal band Dimman is set to release their debut album ‘Songs and Tales of Grievance’ on July 30th 2021 via Inverse Records. The band’s modern melodic death metal combines beautiful melodies, heavy compositions and technical musicality into a unique ensemble. In addition to the diverse instrumentation, Dimman’s two vocalists create a distinctive and balanced soundscape. The band released a first single Paroxysm and music video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/lm02EnUCEps Guitarist Jaakko Yli-Sorvari states that:- “Paroxysm showcases all the elements Dimman is made of. Beautiful melodies, heavy riffs and technical musicianship are all married together forming a catchy soundscape. Paroxysm tells the story of human arrogance and the clouding of one’s judgement.” The album addresses all the grievances and insecurities that cause misery to both individuals and communities. The incapability to be able to affect the injustices results in frustration, which can be heard from every song on the album. 'Songs and Tales of Grievance’ is mixed and mastered by Santeri Peltomäki (Entropy Mixing) whose powerful production supports the band’s versatile compositions. LISTEN to the single on:

The band experiments with a vast array of musical styles such as jazz, classical, folkloric music, and Latin music while keeping a very strong melodic death metal accent. Today, the band is asking fans to come dance La Valse des condamnés! with the premiere of the video for “Kraken” via Bravewords HERE. Sanguine Glacialis explains the song in their own words: “This is the third and last single from our album “Hadopelagic”. It’s actually the first song that was written when we finished the recording of our first album “Dancing with a Hanged Man”, and because of that, you can clearly hear the influences of the first album and former line-up. It’s a song that we all liked, so we decided to keep it and adapt it to our new line-up. The lyrics talk about a man who goes to sea, knowing well that a monster awaits him, and despite the warnings of the people around him, unfortunately never comes back. The music video is centred on this story, showing a ghost ship wandering the seas, reliving the passengers’ deaths in the hands of the Kraken, forever.” “Hadopelagic” is the second full-length album from Sanguine Glacialis, following 2012’s “Dancing With A Hanged Man” and 2016’s EP “Pitch Black Sight”. The beauty of Sanguine Glacialis is that their influences shine through prominently in their music, and each song has its own atmosphere, taking from a unique slice of the musical spectrum. With this album, the band took a huge step forward and fans have been appreciating its mature sound much more than the previous one. According to the band, everything is better on this release and they are proud of the new direction they have taken. There has been talk of writing another album and getting back to live performances in the not too distant future. Fans of Fleshgod Apocalypse, Between the Buried and Me, and Diablo Swing Orchestra will likely be interested in the genre-bending sounds of Sanguine Glacialis. “Hadopelagic” was released on April 6, 2018 and available on the following platforms: Sanguineglacialis.bandcamp.com, Apple Music, Amazon, Spotify. After releasing our first EP “Azrael” and playing some gigs, we felt the next step was to start writing materials for our debut full-length album. Just at the very beginning of this writing process we were lucky to be discovered by producer Jonathan Mazzeo who connected us with record label WormholeDeath. After having done approximately five songs both parts felt it was the right time to sign a record deal. We proceeded to record the album with Jonathan Mazzeo (The Grid Europe) in Pistoia, Italy and the final product is the album “Condemned”. The final release date is 30 04 2021 and soon two singles will be released." The band from Nässjö had its start back in 2011 when later that year they also proceeded to record their debut EP "A Taste of Insanity". They performed live at a couple gigs with the EP until early 2013, where the band came to a halt due to some members leaving. Fast forward to 2017, two of the original members Ricky Magnusson and Johan Schill felt it was time to reboot the band to find an outlet for their Death Metal ideas - based on influences from bands like Arch Enemy, Lamb of God and Kreator to name a few. As early as spring 2017, they found their new addition to bass guitar; Mattias Gunnarsson. Ricky and Mattias were at this point already well acquainted with each other since they had been playing together in another band. During this period, they had developed a good chemistry in their playing and writing. For this reason, Mattias became a most welcome addition to Silent Verdict. While the band continued working on the musical parts to the upcoming EP "Azrael", they now needed a vocalist to fill in the ranks. After checking out a handful of applicants for the spot as a vocalist, the band eventually found Mattias Kulas, who fit in perfectly with the kind of vocalist the band had in mind. Mattias Kulas has a background as a vocalist in the Swedish metal band Eroded. With the new constellation now being complete and the new songs being thoroughly polished and pre-produced, the band decided it was time to hit the studio. They proceeded to book an appointment with HoboRec in Lund, Sweden, to record the EP "Azrael". At the end of September 2017 and recorded it which was released in November that same year. During the summer of 2018, the band was contacted by the record label Wormholedeath and was presented with a record deal, which they later signed in March 2019. They proceeded record their first full length album ”Condemned” with Jonathan Mazzeo (The Grid Europe) as producer in Pistoia, Italy. The album is scheduled to release in spring 2021. Canadian melodic death metal Tides Of Kharon unveil 'Atlas Endures', the first video from their upcoming EP, "Titanomachy". Telling a tale of betrayal and punishment, the aptly named 'Atlas Endures' is sung from the point of view of Atlas as he is sentenced to hold the sky on his shoulders for all eternity. Lyrically, Atlas Endures is emotionally intense, sharing the character’s heartbreaking acceptance of his unfortunate eternal future, with hopes and dreams being his only escape from the struggle. To compliment the story, Tides Of Kharon proceed powerfully into the track, which happens to open the album. A dark chord progression layered with syncopated double-bass patterns force goosebumps on the listener, a phenomenon the refuses to relent throughout the song’s movement through verse, chorus and bridge. The latter half of the track features a guitar solo, performed by the band’s newest member, Mike Burton, which adds an elegance to this dramatic, yet hard-hitting opus. "Titanomachy" is out on April 6th, 2021 via Sliptrick Records. Tides Of Kharon are:

The track is taken from their 2018 album, Támsins likam. Hamferð comments: "Through the band's history, we've always been fascinated by performing in untraditional venues. So when we got the opportunity of actually playing beneath the bottom of the ocean, it was obviously something which we had to do. The tunnel and the sculptures by Tróndur Patursson really add to the atmosphere of the music, and we hope that the atmosphere translates through the video so people are able to enjoy it wherever they are." Hamferð's latest release - 2019's Ódn - is an EP that features the previously unreleased title track on side A and a bare-bones rendition of "Deyðir varðar" (from 2013's Evst) on Side B, both performed live on unique occasions. The band explains: "'Ódn' is the very first Hamferð-song, first performed in the autumn of 2008 and never before published. It is built from three very different sections, which still represent our music today: one part foreboding, one part violent and one part elegiac. The parts follow the narrative of a sailor over three chapters; first braving an increasingly stormy ocean, then reflecting on a long life sailing the very seas that now threaten his life, and finally surrendering to the waves. The title translates to 'violent storm' or 'hurricane'." Stream and purchase Ódn now at: www.metalblade.com/hamferd Hamferð line-up:
Hamferð online: Ukrainian Melodic Death Metal band Wolfanger launches lyric video for new single, "Hunter & Prey". Watch video now here - https://youtu.be/S_31t81nLSo The band shares their thoughts: "We came up with a final vision of the song concept a long time ago. The song is about the concept of hunt. There’s a hunter and there’s a prey but no one knows who will prevail until the final moment, the chances of both are equal and prey can turn the tide and become a hunter, or nobody can survive in this stand. The song’s message is about how much a tiny random chance can do with every situation we face during our whole lives but none of us notices that. The inspiration came unexpectedly, as it usually happens (we’re sure the people with creative ways of thinking can understand us). After releasing a Wolfheart cover Mr Tuomas Saukkonen (the Wolfheart’s mastermind) has invited our vocalist Petro Solovey to record a guest vocal for their upcoming track Skull Soldiers. That was a chance to let every metalhead in the world know about us and inspire us to create a lot of cool songs." You can order "Hunter & Prey" digitally here - https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/wolfanger/hunterprey Wolfanger is a Ukrainian melodic death metal band combining heavy melodic riffs with keyboards. The band is influenced both by Amon Amarth, In Flames, Arch Enemy and many other music genres. Formed in 2016 the band started to write the songs for an upcoming album. The band’s discography consists of EP “Afterlife” (released in spring 2017), several singles and LP Ancients Call (released in October 2019). In Summer 2020 Wolfanger recorded a cover of the song “Ashes” from the latest Wolfheart album and took part in a cover contest. The Ashes cover took third place, so Wolfheart invited Wolfanger’s vocalist Petro Solovey to be a guest vocal in their new single “Skull Soldiers”. Currently the band is in progress of writing new songs for an upcoming album and have already released several singles. The Sand Within' is available right now physically on CD & digitally through Bandcamp and all legal platforms (Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify...) with the help of the Domino Media Group. Sound of Memories is a band from the Parisian suburbs created in 2010. Their style can be described as a mix of heavy / thrash metal riffs with an old-school melodic death metal foundation. After a few years experimenting and carving out their musical style and the arrival of Nacim on drums, the band found its own musical identity, with the recurrent theme of humanism in general, and in particular human’s evolution, philosophy and perception of the world through the ages. In 2013, the band welcomed their new member Flo as their frontman, before going to record their first EP 'Living Circles' at the ZOE-H studio. In the wake of this project, the band joined the promotion and touring association Army of One, and performed at a number of French metal shows (such as the PHYC Fest, the Eragny’s Covent Garden, La Boule Noire and more...). Then in 2015, Julien Delsol (Deep in Hate, 91 All Stars...) lead the production of the band’s first album, a much darker, complex and ambitious opus than their previous effort. In November 2015, the band released their first LP 'To Deliverance' through FinisterianDeadEnd / Season of Mist / Code7, and a number of subsequent gigs allowed the band to make their music and energy known. Right now, Sound of Memories is ready to promote their new album: 'The Sand Within'. For fans of Arch Enemy, In Flames, Children Of Bodom... Buy the 'The Sand Within' on CD/Digital |
