German modern metallers League Of Distortion announce self-titled debut album, out November 25, 2022 via Napalm Records
After signing with international rock and metal empire Napalm Records and the successful subsequent release of their breakout first single, “Wolf or Lamb”, Germany's hottest upstarts League Of Distortion are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of their hard-hitting self-titled debut album, set for release on November 25, 2022! Featuring powerhouse members Anna “Ace” Brunner (Exit Eden) and Jim “Arro” Müller (Kissin’ Dynamite), the unit reveals their explosive potential without ever holding back!
Now, they unleash their relentless second single, “My Revenge”, consisting of modern melodic rhythms and technical prowess topped with vocal dynamics poised to drop jaws. Having mercilessly flipped the metal scene upside down, their explosive second single shows exactly that: a defying sound with dashing drums and heavy, prominent guitar riffs crowned by Anna’s unique, war cry vocals.
League Of Distortion on “My Revenge”:
“This 2nd song goes out to everyone who can relate to the first lines. We’ve taken too much, but we are not passive anymore. Don’t drown in darkness, be as bright and as different as you can be and set fire to the sun!”
A new force, League Of Distortion unite to defeat the shadows cast upon the music scene with their fresh sound and style! Back in 2017, Anna Brunner celebrated remarkable international success with her symphonic metal band Exit Eden, and now, has teamed up with notorious guitarist Jim Müller of renowned heavy metal band Kissin’ Dynamite. Together, they’ve formed one of the hottest new modern metal bands of the year, combining their signature sounds to create a powerful soundscape. Now, they are ready to fight the darkness yet again with their 2022 full-length, self-titled debut album, League of Distortion.
Lifting the dark veil of stagnation caused by the pandemic, League Of Distortion introduce a new sound that resonates with the uncertainty of this period. “Wolf or Lamb” - the addictive first stand-alone single that introduced the band as a force to be reckoned with - ignites the fire of the full album. “Rebel By Choice” and “The Bitter End” show the band’s burning passion and dedication to the genre, while “My Revenge” convinces with a catchy hook and bashing guitar riffs.
The elemental force of Anna “Ace” Brunner’s distorted, powerful voice merged with chunky riffs played by Jim “Arro” Müller, steady and strong beats delivered by Tino “Aeon” Calmbach and edgy bass by Felix “Ax” Rehmann unifies them, forming a strong blast of an album that cannot be missed! League Of Distortion showcase the individual musical expertise of its members without ever becoming stagnant or pretentious - unabashedly distorting the order and launching a new age of metal. Songs like “I’m A Bitch” and “It Hurts So Good” abandon all rules, while catchy hooks like in “L.O.D.” mark anthems to claim their new reign. With songs like “Solitary Confinement” and “Sin”, the band shows their lyrical depth by turning their sadness into a powerful war cry, providing expressive pieces and hymns for the lost.
League Of Distortion convince with classic pieces featuring strong instrumentals, on-the-nose lyrics and energetic vocals, proving their penchant to stand out from the pack. They’ve transformed their frustration into a musical statement beyond comparison. With “Do You Really Think I Fucking Care”, the band lands the final punch of the album to make the message clear: League Of Distortion are here to set the scene ablaze!
The band on their debut album:
"With this debut album, we lay the cornerstone of League Of Distortion. Processing the cruel and capricious reality, with straight-forward, provocative and very personal topics, we are distorting perspective and creating tremendously powerful music. League Of Distortion is here to stay and we welcome you to be a part of this from the very beginning."
League of Distortion will be available in the following formats:
Italian modern metallers MindAhead unveil new single "Last Tide"; taken from their new album out Oct 2022
Ride the "Last Tide" of progressive avant-garde metal from Italy's MindAheaD with their second single off their forthcoming second album "6119 Part 1" being released via Rockshots Records at the end of October.
The latest track to be previewed off their upcoming full-length record, "Last Tide" is an emotional ballad that tells the next chapter of the concept album's character "6119". The band explains in further detail:
"Lost in a kind of frame, like an endless instant, 'Last Tide' describes where "6119" finds himself on the seashore, watching the waves and the sunset. He reflects on the natural change of things that, just like the waves of the sea, never stop changing, and thinks back with nostalgia and hope to the female figure seen in the desert. But this sudden and almost unique carefree situation is the result of an error, a power surge in the Machine's connections that allow "6119" to have an independent vision of the program, an autonomous thought, you can say. Soon (in fact, it is the shortest track on the album), as soon as the sun went down, the Machine re-establishes itself and again takes control of "6119's" consciousness."
MindAhead's next full-length offering "6119 Part 1" follows their 2017 debut "Reflections" released on Roman label Revalve Records. Just like its predecessor, the band's new offering is once again a concept album with a complex, personal and unusual sound to test the limits of their song writing. "6119 Part 1" is a continuation of the previous work on "Reflections", which will tell us the story of 6119, the main character, through a surreal, oneiric journey, always poised between physical space and the realm of the mind. Trapped in this dreamlike kaleidoscope, he proceeds heedless of the consequences, hoping to find at the end of the journey (the "Part II," currently in production) the reason why all this is happening to him.
Merging different aspects, sometimes opposite, of human feeling, bringing them together in a colorful and personal musical proposal, which has its roots in influences ranging from prog 70s to death metal, the band explains the new album in further detail:
"This album is a concept realized with the aim of telling a story that straddles the line between dystopian science fiction and the psychological investigation of the human mind, so the music and lyrics were created in order to reach these goals. We would like the listening experience to be completely immersive. We would like the listener to be able to take a break from the real world and step into another dimension, one that is distant but at the same time well known, not alien, but almost familiar. The listener should passionately follow the events of '6119' in its inner and outer search for reality, in a story that began in the previous album 'Reflections' and will end in the band's next release, so as to complete a narrative trilogy."
Having shared sharing the stage with bands such as Jinjer, Vision Divine, Deathless Legacy, Domine, Pino Scotto, MindAhead is recommended for fans of Opeth, Ayreon, Haken, Katatonia and Pink Floyd. "6119 Part 1" is due out October 28th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.
Las Vegas, NV based, dark rock / pop / industrial artist Rue Vox has teamed up with Butcher Babies frontwoman Heidi Shephard on her vicious new single, "Bitch Don't Come For Me"! With the music video produced and directed by Shane O'Neal, and cinematography by Deed Debruno, "Bitch Don't Come For Me" was produced by Brian Steele Medina (Gemini Syndrome) and features Henry Flury (Butcher Babies) on guitar.
"It’s an empowering track and anti-shaming (fat shaming, slut shaming, etc..) and actually turns into a dis-track in the bridge where Heidi ALMOST name drops a certain well known artist that she has had this kind of experience with in the past. I wanted the video to be along the lines of the movie 'Death Becomes Her' where we’re some hot girls getting ready for a night out but all of a sudden our bodies start falling apart and we’re just “hot ghouls” by the end of it. The video features myself, Heidi Shepherd (Butcher Babies) and Shannon Gunz (DJ from Octane on Sirius xm)."
Better watch out! Napalm Records is beyond proud to announce the signing of Germany's hottest upstarts, League Of Distortion. The rising outfit, featuring Anna Brunner (Exit Eden) and Jim Müller (Kissin' Dynamite, has just inked an official record deal with the premium Austrian rock and metal label!
While the pandemic turned the music business upside down, throwing its shadow upon the entire entertainment scene, musicians were left deep in darkness, forced to be patient and wait – anticipating brighter days to come. Exceptional artist Anna Brunner made use of this difficult time to start a fire with League Of Distortion!
League Of Distortion on the signing:
“The turmoil that is distorting our lives has cast its shadow upon us. But we are finally stepping into the light to share exciting news with you! We have the privilege of announcing that League Of Distortion has been signed by Napalm Records, inviting us to their family of amazing people and bands. We are honoured to be a part of this! There will be so much more to come! Don't miss any proclamations from now on.”
As far back as 2017, Anna Brunner celebrated remarkable international success with her symphonic metal band Exit Eden. Now, she is using the stagnation of the past two years for an entirely new vision, culminating in League Of Distortion. The band processes the uncertainty of this period and its bleak prospects to create tremendously powerful songs – songs that encapsulate this dark and brute reality in a slick and appealing way, sending a cold shiver down the listener’s spine. The elemental force of her distorted, powerful voice merged with chunky riffs played by Jim Müller, steady and strong beats delivered by Tino Calmbach and edgy bass by Felix Rehmann unifies them, forming a strong league birthing a blast of sound that cannot be missed!
Now, League Of Distortion have unveiled their crushing first offering, “Wolf Or Lamb” , consisting of modern, melodic rhythms and technical prowess along with vocal dynamics to drop jaws. The explosive first single comes along with a lavishly staged music video, showcasing that the unit operates not only in terms of sound, but also on a top-notch level visually!
The band adds:
“After working behind closed doors for an exceedingly long time, we are finally breaking free to the world, sharing our first single with you. League Of Distortion is humbly proud and honoured to release the song “Wolf or Lamb”, welcoming you to the League’s universe.”
Stay tuned - more to be announced soon!
American modern metallers Oceans Of Slumber release video for 'The Hanging Tree'; new album “Starlight And Ash” out now
Welcome to the New Southern Gothic.
Friday 22nd July marked the release of "Starlight And Ash", the long-awaited 5th album by Oceans Of Slumber. Equipped with a profoundly deep musical background, a staunch reverence for the American South, and starry-eyed artistic curiosity, Oceans Of Slumber have created a sonic expression like no other.
Starlight And Ash isn’t a mere compilation of songs, but it comes with an underlying concept, Cammie Beverly (vocals) comments:
“The album Starlight and Ash is scenery and stories inspired by characters, settings, and themes from the band’s (traumatic) childhood experiences. These encounters are woven into the lives and tales of individuals in a fictitious community living on the Gulf Coast.”
Check out the video for 'The Hanging Tree' to dive further into the storyline. “An old childhood home, a frequently visited spot along the meadow, a closet we pass in our grandmother's house, a tree in the town centre that has scars from its terrible past...places hold memories and they never forget them even when buried under the changes of time”, says Cammie Beverly about 'The Hanging Tree'.
Make sure to (re-)visit 'The Lighthouse (Official Video)', as both cinematic videos, that were directed by Angela Herr and Bianca Greene for FirstSight Agency, are conceptionally connected.
Fronted by the inimitable power, range, and grace of vocalist Cammie Beverly, Starlight and Ash posits Oceans Of Slumber in a league of their own. This is as much eloquent extensions of famed singer-songwriters Nick Cave and Chris Stapleton as it is the heart-breaking pulse of Type O Negative and Katatonia. Starlight and Ash isn’t Metal, but its edges are. The album was produced by Joel Hamilton (Violet Road, Battle of Mice) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Yes, Voivod). Its stunning artwork was created by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Heaven Shall Burn and many more).
The band previously released 3 videos for Starlight and Ash that can be viewed here:

Des Moines’ firebrands, Vended have revealed another incendiary new single, 'Ded To Me', ahead of their first ever UK and European dates.
The five-piece tell us; “This song is unforgiving and uncompromising. We are back and better than ever. This is a straight fuck you!”
Next week, the five piece will cross the pond to mainland Europe for their debut European shows, kicking off in Bucharest, Romania on 20th July. In August, they will find themselves on UK shores for their first British festival, opening the Ronnie James Dio main stage at the UK's biggest extreme music fest, BLOODSTOCK on Sunday 14th August. They will then play headline shows in London and Bournemouth before continuing their touring back out in mainland Europe.
Vended continue; "We’ve spent the past year playing shows, touring, releasing music, and meeting fans in the U.S. Now it’s time to start world domination and hit Europe with the same energy. Hope you're ready, here we come…!"
Late last year, the band dropped a duo of singles ('Asylum' and 'Burn My Misery') ahead of their 5-track debut EP, ‘What Is It / Kill It’, which arrived at DSPs on November 12th. The much-acclaimed collection was recorded with Griffin Landa of The Acacia Strain. The two singles bookended their first US headline tour, after which the band went on to open the day's proceedings at the huge Knotfest Los Angeles show at the Banc Of California Stadium, playing alongside Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Fever 333, Code Orange and Cherry Bombs.
Vended‘s fresh and furious sound heralds a new era of heavy music and the arrival of the next generation of brutality. Formed in February 2018 by Cole Espeland (lead guitar), Griffin Taylor (vocals), Simon Crahan (drums), Jeremiah Pugh (bass) and Connor Grodzicki (rhythm guitar), Vended showcase a barbarous sound built on foundations laid by the power and precision of the rhythm section, layered with vicious guitars, soul crushing solos and guttural-yet-melodic vocals portraying the hardships and harsh realities of life.
Stay tuned for more coming from VENDED very soon. In the meantime, catch them live at any of the dates below. Tickets available at OfficialVended.com.

Estonia’s most pioneering modern metal band brings a breath of fresh air to this summer heat with their latest release Ego Death. Known for pushing themselves beyond their comfort zone, Horror Dance Squad has proven time and again that they can conquer new territory with ease. And the opening seconds of Ego Death fulfil the promise their fans have come to love and expect from the band: a juicy and unapologetic blend of pop, punk, and metalcore cowritten with Sander Sadam and wrapped up in a massive mix by Cody Stewart.
Reflecting the musical direction of Ego Death, the lyrics speak about self-surrender and transformation. Singer Karl Mesipuu explains, “With this song we are exploring our inner selves and the way we interact with the world around us. We want to reflect on how we are living our lives and how to act with others to make ourselves better.”
Singer Ian Karell adds, “As I get older and take on new responsibilities in life, I recognise the importance of ensuring my actions are not rooted in selfishness. The ego is essentially selfish, so by killing the ego, or at least giving it a backseat, you are able to confidently pursue a more altruistic life.”
Horror Dance Squad is one of Estonia’s most talked about metal bands. Blasting stages throughout the Baltics and abroad since 2014, they are not afraid to stir up divisive opinions through their style and influence. Horror Dance Squad’s mission is to deliver a fresh blend of metalcore, punk, and pop with a vibrant and explosive live performance. Theirs is a mission with a message. Far from the typical doom and gloom expected from the genre, Horror Dance Squad aims to spread awareness of today’s most pressing social and existential questions with an infectious positivity.
Horror Dance Squad has had the enormous pleasure of sharing the stage with international heavy hitters such as Siamese, Comeback Kid, Dead By April, Adept, Electric Callboy, We Butter The Bread With Butter, Deez Nuts, August Burns Red and One Morning Left. They also represented Estonia at the 2016 Wacken Open Air Metal Battle.
Urban Primate is a modern and intense metal band with the ability and eagerness to implement a variety of elements from hard rock, 90's grunge rock, and heavy metal to deliver a solid and holistic metal experience.
They have signed a licensing deal with Wormholedeath for the reissue of their album Desolation, which will be re-released on July 29th, 2022.
The band speaking about the collaboration with Wormholedeath stated:
"We are very excited to sign with Wormholedeath and a family of very talented bands. This is a group of very skilled and passionate people who loves music and share the same values as us. After many great conversations with the owner Carlo Belotti, we truly believe that Wormholedeath is the right place to develop our music and to form a great partnership for the future. Wormholedeath will release and distribute our album “Desolation” and we are really looking forward to collaborating with WHD"
Urban Primate was first formed in 2010 and consisted at that time of five dedicated members, who wrote and released the band's first album “Urban Primate” in 2010. The album was the band's first touch into the Danish Hardrock scene and made the way for a variety of gigs in Denmark. This first album was heavily inspired by bands such as Filter, Alice in chains, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo fighter, etc. The vocals and melodies always had a huge role in Urban Primates' production and on this first full album, Benjamin Larsen drew references to vocalists like Richard Patrick, Layne Staley, and Chester Bennington. Urban Primate played several venues in Denmark from 2010 to 2012. Over the years the band changed members a few times with only Benjamin, Christian, and Jakob as ongoing members of the group.
In 2011 the band once again went to the studio to record an EP with five tracks. The EP changed the band's focus from a softer hard-rock band to a more crunchy metal sound. The EP was more aggressive, the vocals harder, and the beats faster and more hard-hitting.
In 2012 the band split up and Urban Primate was finally shut down. Yet, in the summer of 2020, the band members felt it was time to revive Urban Primate. In the middle of the worldwide covid-19 pandemic, the band started rehearsals and shortly after released their first single, “My Terror Calling” – a song heavily inspired by 2000’s nu-metal and grunge, after eight years of silence. The band released their 2nd full-length album DESOLATION I 2021. Yet again the band's focus had changed and the style was now even more inspired by the late 90’ies grunge combined with a more modern metal sound. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Nicklas Sonne, Sonne studios, giving the band a deeper and more modern sound to their music.
In march 2022 Urban Primate joined forces with the Italian label WORMHOLEDEATH. A strong and dedicated partnership focused on introducing Urban Primates music worldwide. Urban Primate is at the moment working on new songs for an upcoming album.
Finnish modern metal band Without Warning released their third single and music video Black Venom via Inverse Records on June 9th 2022.
“Black Venom” is an intense story about the definition of evil, manifested in a woman and ready to spread hatred everywhere she goes. Visually the story is brought to life in a horror biohazard surrounding, taking the spectator in the middle of events. The song came along quite fast as Juuso (guitarist) got inspired by the concept of the story, and wanted to bring life to it. It felt as the easiest project so far music wise as the band had a very clear idea of how it would be produced.
“I like to write about my experiences in a metaphoric way, just like I did with Black Venom. I believe in the good in people, but on a rare occasion you might cross paths with someone you wish you didn’t. Someone who lives off of creating chaos and taking everything from you to the last drop. Pure evil. And that’s what spreading the black toxic is about.” states Micha (vocalist).
