Finnish Melodic Pop Metallers Amberian Dawn unveil title track and official video, “Looking For You”
ABBA-Metal pioneers Amberian Dawn just released their third single, the title track “Looking For You”, along with an official video via Napalm Records. In a nutshell, this high voltage fusion perfectly represents the upcoming album and its poetic sound.
The official video for “Looking For You" aesthetically mirrors the conflict between memories, desires and leaving your ancient life behind. Monumental melodic vocal lines that remind of the Swedish pop giants ABBA pair with strong keyboard-driven, 80’s pop influenced sounds and merge with heavy drums and guitar riffs into an impressive genre-fluid creation. This addictive mix can only be described as follows – Finnish ABBA-Metal at its finest! Amberian Dawn developed their style and spiced it up by entering and creating a new musical universe.
”This is the Crown Jewel of the album. This song is exactly what so-called ABBA-Metal is all about. Haunting and dramatic keyboards, strong melodies and tons of vocal tracks. I worked closely with Finnish synthesizer artist Kebu to achieve this wonderful vintage keyboard sound. I let myself go into world of 80’s synthesizer music and then my band mates helped me to arrange the song into an Amberian Dawn-song.“

Looking For You, out on January 31, 2020, proves that ABBA and metal do not mutually exclude each other. Amberian Dawn is navigating into a new style, which is even more melodic, keyboard driven and not only a sophisticated symbiosis but yet their own style: “Melodic ABBA-Metal from Finland”. The new album is packed with well-polished and immaculate songwriting, full of catchy melodies and epic keyboard parts that immediately send shivers down your spine.
Pre-Order the new album Looking For You NOW!
The multi-faceted and emotional lyrics provide a suitable background for soaring guitars and elegant classical interludes: a highly addictive cocktail that is topped off by a cover version of ABBA’s “Lay All Your Love On Me”!
With their musical style changing from power metal to symphonic metal over the last few years, Amberian Dawn are now navigating into yet another new style, which is even more melodic, keyboard driven and influenced by the Swedish band ABBA. Therefore, they’ve been working closely with award-winning Finnish artist Kebu for over a month to create the ingenious keyboard sound that can be heard on the recording.

Finland’s multi-Platinum cello-rock band Apocalyptica have released the video for ‘En Route To Mayhem’, which will transport the viewer to a fantastical post-humanity future. This imaginary world is barren, dusty, and littered with broken pieces of things once considered essential to humankind such as bits of plastic, a teddy bear, crumbling structures, cell phones and computers, bleached bones, and long-forgotten musical instruments. The setting is devoid of mankind, but brimming with the hope of new life; and then one day, thunder, lightning, and one drop at a time, it begins to rain, and Mother Nature steps in. Check out the ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video HERE.
Apocalyptica’s Eicca Toppinen comments:-
“‘En Route To Mayhem’ is a journey of hedonic needs growing into greed and aggression, driving into inner mayhem and ending without satisfaction. This video underlines the fact that however we think we are in control by destroying things and life around us, life itself will take over in the end, always. We are not in control of the bigger picture, and we should be aware of it and raise our respect to life around us.”
The ‘En Route To Mayhem’ video is in support of Apocalyptica’s upcoming album, Cell-0, due out January 10th, 2020 via Silver Lining Music. Produced by Apocalyptica – cellists Eicca Toppinen, Perttu Kivilaakso, and Paavo Lötjönen, and drummer Mikko Sirén and mixed by Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lana Del Rey, Metallica and Black Sabbath), and recorded at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki.
The recording of Cell-0 followed a four-year break between albums that gave the band a fresh perspective and affected the way they approached the new music. Cell-0 is the quartet's first instrumental album in 17 years and found the musicians challenging themselves to discover new flavours and colours in their respective instruments. For Cell-0 pre-order options, go to this location.
Perttu Kivilaakso comments:-
“Cell-0 has a concept which is to challenge the listeners to question themselves and ask “Am I doing the best I can for the environment, for other beings? Is there still something I can change?”
To highlight environmental issues, the band wanted to ask fans to do something for our planet; so to coincide with the release of the new video, they have launched a very special competition, which will give fans the chance to win the opportunity for Apocalyptica to play in their living room.
To enter, fans will need to show the band how they are making the planet a healthier place for everyone. Fans can head to their Facebook page and comment with photos/videos showing what they are doing to help the planet and telling the band why they should be picked as a winner.
To find out more information, head to the band’s Facebook page. The online contest is open to all European fans from now and will close at 7:00 pm CET Friday, January 10th, 2020. Full terms and conditions can be found here.
In concert, Apocalyptica are known for their moving live performances and will kick off the New Year as Special Guests on Sabaton's 15-country, 23-date European arena tour that begins on January 17, 2020 in Zurich, Switzerland. With a set list that will likely vary night to night, Apocalyptica's performances will be comprised of new songs from Cell-0 as well as from the band's rich catalogue. Tickets are on sale now; go to https://www.apocalyptica.com for all pre-sales, VIP packages, and ticketing details.

Finnish Death Metallers Korpsesoturi have just inked a deal with Xtreem Music for the release of their next album, whose recording will take place during the first months of 2020 and is set to be released in spring/summer.
Korpsesoturi were formed in 2014 by Juha Ahlfors. Their first recording was done in 2016, but never saw daylight, with the self-titled 2017 EP being their first official release. which was followed by a full-length entitled "Malus Corpus", in 2018.
During 2019, the band played live and wrote new material for their sophomore album which will consist in raw old school Death Metal with double bass drumming, killer blast beats and vocals from the grave. In words of the band: "no excuses, no compromises, no clean vocals... if you wanna listen to melodic Death Metal or happy Metal music - Korpsesoturi is not for you!". The new album will be recorded early 2020 and mastering has been agreed already with Zack Ohren (USA), who also mastered the first album.
More details about the new album will emerge when the recordings are finished. In the meantime you can visit Korpsesoturi's Facebook here: www.facebook.com/korpsesotur and listen to their first album on the following link: https://youtu.be/plgkBqzIitw
Finnish Blood Region released a new single and music video for a brand new track Warrior Heart. At the same time they announce a new singer Annika Jalkanen.
Watch the music video 'Warrior Heart' here: https://youtu.be/wisOQDDtqvU
Guitarist Mika says:-
"Warrior Heart is definately best from Blood Region music. With elements from Tales of the Backwoods album and new musical themes it offers amazing listening experience. Annika's voice gave a lot of fresh power and new page turns again in story. It's been great to work on this song with these wonderful and talented people. There is much good energy in this song, it's been fascinating to see this song grow from the start to this magical result."
"We're old friends with Mika and he asked to sing this song. I really like previous Blood Region songs and believed this new one to be awesome track, so I agreed to join and sing. I have not sing Blood Region style music before, so it gave good challenges to my singing. One can say, it's been really creative and productive experience being out of the comfort zone in some degrees in my singing."

Finnish modern Thrash Metal band Justice Theory has released their new single "Anyone Anymore".
The new release is aiming to larger and more modern sound than previous Justice Theory releases.
The idea for lyrics came from today's society where there's lack of social interaction and care of other people. In modern world there is more and more self-centeredness and the most important values will be forgotten.
Black Lion Records are excited to welcome their first ever Finnish band to the label's roster.
Following the signing, the label had this to say:-
"Re-armed reached out to us early 2019 and by then it became quite clear that this was indeed a band that had gone behind our radar. While Re-armed's music influences can strongly be traced to it's root influences from Arch Enemy and At The Gates, upon hearing their music video "Built To Last" we were instantly impressed and since the start of 2019, the band has been in the studio recording their new album which is set for a worldwide release in the start of summer 2020. We are always looking to expand our horizons and Finland has certainly been a hotspot for metal in the past few years, and an area we truly wanted to reach into so we are very excited to work with Re.armed on their new record."
Re-Armed have toured heavily across the European and Asian soil ever since 2002 and have toured and supported bands such as Suffocation, Origin, Cryptopsy, Cattle Decapitation & Decrepit Birth to name a few and are already getting ready for a busy 2020.
The new, 4th album comes out worldwide in June 2020. Tour dates will lead and follow the release.
Below a statement from the band:-
"Throughout the spring and beginning of winter we have been producing and recording new songs for forthcoming yet untitled album. This album will be more dramatic, powerful, and melodic as we promised earlier. In the end of 2018, the single "Built to Last" gave to audience hint about what has been cooking in our stew lately. We continued to discover more about these ingredients. Upcoming release will definitely open new doors for the band. And about the record deal, Olivers attitude, professionalism and genuine love for music made an instant impact on us. We are convinced that this alliance will lead us to even greater achievements in the future."

WATCH Out of the Silence video: https://youtu.be/Wn7Ps3wcALE
Resonance's music is all about the brutal meeting of beautiful and technical melodies that are creating an unique approach to it. All four of the band members are experienced and hard-working musicians that have been associated with many bands and projects in the past. They all have different musical influences which is essential for the band's unique and fresh sound.
The band comments:
"The song ’Out Of The Silence’ features a mix of ambient sequences a catchy straightforward chorus and heavy breakdowns. The song was chosen as a single because of its versatility. It is a well-rounded musical display of the whole album that combines melodic and aggressive riffing."
