Formed in Nicosia, Cyprus in 2012, Harmonize originally started as a thrash metal band until gradually transforming into the Heavy/Power Metal force that they are today, although the band still maintains some thrash and dark elements in their style. Harmonize have so far released two demos and have performed live numerous times (including shows alongside Blaze Bayley, Bonfire, Wotan and others) while working on fine tuning their sound and style. The band’s upcoming debut album, titled “Warrior in the Night” is scheduled for release on October 2nd and will be out on CD and Digital. It is based on an original epic fantasy fiction story that is still under development by guitarist George Constantinou and London-based actor Nicolina Papas. As expected, battles and swords, kings and queens, angels and demons are but a few of the symbolic themes one will come across as the album’s story unfolds! “Warrior in the Night” includes a couple guest appearances by close friends of the band, one being actor Nicolina Papas on the haunting narrative “Beyond Darkness” outro track of the album and also Andreas Paraschos of death metal act BLYND, who provides the brutal chorus backing vocals on the song “Tonight.” A video for the title track is now available at https://youtu.be/Z2mOojGM-pM For more info visit the band’s website at https://www.harmonizeofficial.com Harmonize line-up: Sozos Michael – Vocals George Constantinou - Rhythm Guitars Lambros Apousianas – Lead Guitars Panagiotis Takkides – Bass Harrys Peratikas – Drums https://www.harmonizeofficial.com https://www.facebook.com/harmonizeofficialpage https://www.instagram.com/harmonize_band https://twitter.com/HarmonizeBand https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1SCa9PmUJrFtafwkFx2rfw/videos

Cypriot Metallers Dark Poetry to release "Specimen" via Deathhammer Records on 1st February21/1/2020 Deathhammer Records sets February 1st as the international release date for Dark Poetry's album entitled "Specimen"! Album will be limited to 300 copies - silkscreen hand-printed CD!In the words of Robert Camassa (Radio producer, Cybc): "Dark Poetry have been gravitating for the past years somewhere between the Lost and Found searching for identity, honing their craft. I'd say closer to the Lost, with botched attempts at recording and the learning curve of life's ups and downs. Their new release "SPECIMEN" unleashes feral soundscapes that suggest they have not just arrived but they mean to conquer. And you don't need to look for them at the Lost anymore. They have been Found. This ain't metal, baby... it is resounding supersonic bestial blues!" Recording, engineering and mixing by Andreas Matheou Mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Dark Poetry emerged from the underground of Cyprus in 2002 and since its inception, the band was dedicated in composing original music influenced by all aspects of being, through the essence of Middle Eastern sounds. Through various experimentations and a line-up change, they set on the core members in 2010, being a 4-piece entity. The band’s first release came in 2018 with their self-titled EP, containing the tracks ‘ghost’ and ‘absence’, setting the motion for their debut album. Dark Poetry’s first full-length album ‘SPECIMEN’ is coming out on the 1st of February 2020 through Deathhammer Records and Undersound. https://www.facebook.com/DeathhammerRecords/ https://www.facebook.com/darkpoetryband/ The 'Releases Of The Year' series are albums chosen by myself as the best release from each country / dependency known to have an official release in the year 2017. These are alphabetized in country order so are easy to navigate. Each award has national flag featured alongside the band name, Release Of The Year' and Facebook link (where provided)
Nekhrah's debut album "Cosmic Apostasy" is out now digitally and available via Bandcamp. Previously known as Impalement, the Mediterranean-based act just self-released their first full-length. Physical copies coming soon. Listen and order "Cosmic Apostasy" via Bandcamp:- https://nekhrah.bandcamp.com Praise for the album so far: "The groove, man, the groove!" - Toilet ov Hell "Nekhrah waste no time at all digging their hooks into the listener’s head, with a gravel-crushing bass and a booming drum tone you can feel in your core, delivering punishing, compulsive grooves. As icing on the cake, the vocals are downright savage, the lyrics voiced in scarring howl that rises to an incinerating, skin-splitting shriek" - No Clean Singing Hailing from Nicosia, Cyprus (consisting of Greek and Turkish Cypriot and Romanian members), the four-piece distinguished themselves locally through their signature and unique blend of spine-crushing riffs and melody topped with distinctive vocals. Nekhrah have released a home-recorded demo in 2014, under their former name and have currently completed recording their first full-length album entitled Cosmic Apostasy which was mastered by Alan Douches of West West Side Music. The artwork of the album and the design of the band logo was done by Maciej Kamuda. The band name “Nekhrah” is an Anglicised version of the Greek word “Νέκρα” which means “death” or “deadness” and/or “emptiness” in Greek. The philosophy behind the band is Nihilistic. That is to say, the belief that existence is meaningless and that there is no inherent meaning in anything we do, think or experience. The lyrics revolve heavily around misanthropy, cataclysm, self-destruction and a desire of non-existence. “Humanity is but a herd of ritualistic apes that congregate to ceremonialise their own insignificance”.
