Mexican death metal band Cathartic is living proof of the influence that Swedish death metal has on the scene. Releasing their debut album this summer, ‘Through The Abysmal Gates Of Subconscious’, through Awakening Records, Carthatic are ready to show its brand of death metal to the world. “Death is our true and only purpose while we are guided by suffering, sadness, triumph, hate, dogmas, doubts, and fear of the unknown with a nihilistic and pessimistic view of points,” the band states. Influenced by a range of bands such as Bolt Thrower, Carcass, and Sadistic Intent, to Dismember, the early work of Amorphis, Carnage and Edge Of Sanity, the band's style can be defined as a true return to the roots of death metal- with hints of melody and doom. As shown in their first EP ‘Ceremonial Resurrection’ the band knows just when to be fast and catchy and when to include a slow, heavy intensity. 'Through The Abysmal Gates Of Subconscious’ was recorded by Jesús Bravo at Bravesound Studio, mastered by the legendary Tomas Skogsberg at the famous Sunlight Studios in Sweden and with cover artwork by Dan Seagrave- the album is set to be a must-listen for all death metal fans.

Sweden's masters of melancholic metal Katatonia sign worldwide record deal with Napalm Records26/6/2022 Napalm Records is beyond proud to announce the worldwide signing of legendary Swedish masters of melancholy Katatonia. The band has inked a worldwide record deal with the leading Austrian rock and metal label. Piercing through the core in 1991 when Katatonia was brought to life by the inimitable Jonas Renkse (now vocalist) and renowned guitarist Anders Nyström, the unit has taken a fascinating journey from their heavy atmospheric extreme metal beginnings in the early 90s underground metal scene to their current status as a unique, free-spirited progressive rock amalgamation that stretches beyond the boundaries of standard music. Each stunning work of Katatonia is tantamount to a cathartic experience – from their seminal debut, the legendary Dance Of December Souls (1993), to their most recent haunting masterpiece, the critically acclaimed City Burials (2020) – the latter marking their most successful release to date (debuting at #6 GER, #5 FI, etc). The five-piece has never failed in evolving its sound and unique identity into something that is known as one of Sweden's top-notch musical forces today. Lebanese thrash / groove metal titans Phenomy released their new album 'Syndicate Of Pain', back on March 3rd 2022, along with a harrowing animation video 'Lead Me To My Throne'. 'Syndicate Of Pain' is a concept album about an asylum ran by Dr Anton Shuman, a mad scientist that is manipulating criminals and patients labelled insane in his facility. The album later reveals that these patients are not being cured, but are part of a bigger and darker project, that even Dr Schuman himself is being deceived by. In the album is included the single “Beyond The Wall Of Sleep (A Tribute To H.P. Lovecraft)”.
Award-winning Italian producer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and re-mixer, NeroArgento announces he will be releasing his sixth studio album "Land Of Silence" via Rockshots Records on October 7th, 2022. An explosive mixture of grunge rock, industrial metal, and electronic music, packed with orchestral influences and acid fuzzy sounds, "Land Of Silence" follows the success of 2020's “Circles”, which soared to #10 on the iTunes Top 200 Italy Rock Chart along with more than 1 million streams on Spotify. "Land Of Silence" is the most coherent record to date from NeroArgento's discography. It's a solid industrial foundation composed of unmistakable low-tuned guitar riffs and very heavy drum grooves, topped with electronics and synths ranging from the most acid electro to retro wave pop-friendly melodies, without forgetting the usual and distinctive vocal layers. With great attention to every aspect, "Land of Silence" is entirely performed, recorded, and mixed by NeroArgento. The record was mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned in Brighton (UK) and features prominent guests such as Vicio (Subsonica) and Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer). To anticipate the album's release, NeroArgento has chosen the track "The Way I Am" as the first single. "The track is influenced by a more classic nu-metal sound in the vibe of the early Linkin Park, but in a current guise, in the wake of bands like Tetrarch or Motionless in White with detuned guitars, massive grooves, and super melodic choruses," adds NeroArgento. The video clip for "The Way I Am" was directed by NeroArgento, Fabio Brunello (CGI), and Mattia Di Matera (live shots) and is a journey into the near future, composed of different power plays and opposing realities that contrast with each other in search of a balance that struggles to remain to stand, all surrounded by classic 80's cyberpunk settings and the inevitable neon lights. NeroArgento is recommended for fans of Motionless In White, Falling In Reverse, and Bring Me The Horizon. As a producer / arranger NeroArgento has appeared on more than 50 records released worldwide, is endorsed by ESP guitars, ML sound Labs, and Mad Cat Amps. https://www.rockshots.eu https://www.neroargento.info https://www.facebook.com/alessioneroargento https://www.instagram.com/aleneroargento Lord of darkness Ozzy Osbourne confirms new album "Patient Number 9" will be released 9th September26/6/2022 Ozzy is back. Mark September 9 on your calendar as the release date for "Patient Number 9", Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter Ozzy Osbourne’s new album and the first since his critically acclaimed, worldwide, chart-topping 2020 "Ordinary Man" release. The album’s self-titled first single and video have today (Friday, June 24) been released worldwide. Listen to “Patient Number 9” here and watch the video Grammy winner and multiple Grammy nominee Todd McFarlane-directed here. “Having worked with Ozzy in the past, I jumped at another opportunity to do so again…especially on the music side this time,” Todd McFarlane says. “In the harsh business called the music industry, any creative person who’s sustained a multi-decades career has shown the skill, talent and tenacity that will always garner my admiration. Ozzy has shown many of us creative folks that it’s indeed possible to make a living doing what you love for nearly an entire lifetime. Go, Ozzy!” Produced by Andrew Watt (who handled the same duties on Ordinary Man) and set for release on Epic, the new album marks Osbourne’s 13th solo studio album. It’s heavy, it’s hard-hitting, it’s historic--it’s everything you’d want from an Ozzy Osbourne record and maybe more. “Patient Number 9” was written by Ozzy, Watt, Robert Trujillo, Chad Smith and Ali Tamposi and features a riveting solo from legendary guitarist Jeff Beck (one of the notable guest stars on the album, additional details below). The video marks the first collaboration from the project with Emmy-and Grammy-winning director/producer Todd McFarlane. It is highlighted by McFarlane’s signature illustrations interspersed with live Ozzy vignettes in the role of “Patient Number 9,” which the revolutionary creative force in the world of comics and toys also filmed. In addition, this is the first-ever video to incorporate Ozzy’s artwork: his hand-drawn demons were animated and can be seen during the Jeff Beck solo in the song. Working with producer Watt for the second time, Ozzy welcomed a dynamic A-list supporting cast. The record boasts guitarists Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, and longstanding righthand man and six-string beast Zakk Wylde who plays on the majority of the tracks. For the bulk of the album, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers held down drums, while the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters made an appearance. Old friend and one-time Ozzy band member Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays bass on most of the album’s tracks, with Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Chris Chaney of Jane’s Addiction supplying bass on a few songs. For the first time ever, Black Sabbath co-founder, guitarist, and riff-lord Tony Iommi appears on an Ozzy solo album. An exclusive version of "Patient Number 9" with a limited-edition special McFarlane-designed comic book will be available for pre-order; a limited-edition comic with foil cover is also available with a special deluxe box. Both can be pre-ordered here. Pre-order PATIENT NUMBER 9 here.
OZZY OSBOURNE ON ‘PATIENT NUMBER 9’ Q: This is your first album to be released after the pandemic. What was going through your mind during the early days of the pandemic and are any of those feelings reflected in these songs? OZZY: “Well, I was vaccinated and boosted and I still caught Covid in the end. My last album (Ordinary Man) was released just a few weeks before the pandemic started, and I was just about getting ready to go into the studio to work on this new one when the world shut down. It’s no secret that the last four years have been very difficult for me but making this album took my mind off of my problems.” Q: The album features some players with whom have history. What was it like to be reunited with Tony Iommi musically? OZZY: “It was really great working with Tony. He’s the riff master. No one can touch him in that respect. I only wish we had these songs for Black Sabbath’s 13 album.” Q: Zakk contributes a lot on this album--how was the decision made to have him play since he didn’t play on the last album? OZZY: “Zakk is part of my family and always will be. The album needed that weight that his playing provides. He just came in and really sorted things out.” Q: Tell us about the first single, “Patient Number 9,” which features Jeff Beck. What do you feel he has contributed to the song? OZZY: “The song is about a mental institution. Having someone like Jeff Beck play on my album is just incredible, a total honuor. There’s no other guitar player that plays like him and his solo on ‘Patient Number 9’ is just jaw-dropping.” Icelandic black / death metallers Show Me Wolves unveil new single "Silence Of The Frail Mind“26/6/2022 "Silence Of The Frail Mind", the new single by Icelandic black / death metal band Show Me Wolves is now available through the below:-

Israeli thrashers Sinnery to perform at Rockstadt Extreme Fest (RO), new video "The Burning" out now22/6/2022 Israeli thrashers Sinnery will be embarking on their first performance at Rockstadt Extreme Fest in Romania on Friday, August 5th at 3 pm local time on the Brasov Stage, sharing that day's lineup with Lamb of God, Overkill, UADA, Kataklysm, Necrophobic, In Mourning and more. "We are beyond excited to get to play Rockstadt Extreme Fest this year! It'll be absolutely incredible to perform on the stage with so many legends on the same bill. This will be our first show in Romania and we can't wait to see you all there!." adds the band. Full details on the festival and its lineup from August 3rd to 7th can be found at https://www.rockstadtextremefest.com. Sinnery will be unleashing their much anticipated new record “Black Bile”, six years after their debut. In the time since then, they have melted more influences into their sound, and morphed from a predominantly thrash sound to something darker, and heavier. Swept up with melodic breaks amidst the gutturals, they wrap their music in modern layers. The album contains ten tracks; recently they shared the first single, “The Burning” with a new music video, which can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/1U6_y-SDR7M Single digital pre-save - http://burning.sinneryband.com “The Burning'' is probably the most popular song with the fans even before it comes out, the fans chant “God bless the human race” on every show so it was a no-brainer picking it out to be the first single off of the album. It is an upbeat thrash song with many heavy and groovy moments. It was perfect for the beginning of the album, to start with a bang, with no introductions or orchestral intros just straight-up metal from the get-go. Lyrically the song’s full name was The Burning of Mt. Sinai and so it’s easy to know this song is an anti-religious song, coming from Israel, religion is a big part of the atmosphere where we grew up, and we are not very fond of those establishments that are more about power and money than the lessons in those books they sell.” adds the band. Coming at the listener fast and hard is the name of the game for Sinnery. They infuse their music with real true emotions and messages, nothing about it is made up, it’s all very personal and they really dug into the deepest, darkest parts of themselves to write this album. They anticipate that it’ll be received well and expect that listeners will find that sense of realness in it amidst relentless riffs and catchy melodies. “Black Bile” is fast and full of energy, making it the perfect record to spin when getting amped up. Whether it's for driving fast, headbanging, or hitting the gym, this is a wickedly fun album to listen to. Sinnery is recommended listening for fans of Gojira, Testament, and The Haunted. “Black Bile” will be released on September 16, 2022 via Exitus Stratagem Records.
Finnish modern metallers Without Warning release their 3rd single “Black Venom” via Inverse Records12/6/2022 Finnish modern metal band Without Warning released their third single and music video Black Venom via Inverse Records on June 9th 2022. “Black Venom” is an intense story about the definition of evil, manifested in a woman and ready to spread hatred everywhere she goes. Visually the story is brought to life in a horror biohazard surrounding, taking the spectator in the middle of events. The song came along quite fast as Juuso (guitarist) got inspired by the concept of the story, and wanted to bring life to it. It felt as the easiest project so far music wise as the band had a very clear idea of how it would be produced. “I like to write about my experiences in a metaphoric way, just like I did with Black Venom. I believe in the good in people, but on a rare occasion you might cross paths with someone you wish you didn’t. Someone who lives off of creating chaos and taking everything from you to the last drop. Pure evil. And that’s what spreading the black toxic is about.” states Micha (vocalist).
