Danish Extreme Metallers Chronicle release new album "Demonology" in March; pre-orders available21/12/2019 Hailing from the northern part of Denmark, Chronicle is the bastard child of old-school thrash metal, melodic death metal & black metal, with a sprinkling of Finnish melody thrown in for good measure. Technical riffs and lightning fast drums are par for the course, when it comes to Chronicles music. And now the Danish band is ready to release their new album “Demonology"! “We've always strived towards a high level of technicality and musicianship in the music we write, and "Demonology" represents to us a big step into a heavier and more extreme direction, while maintaining our brand of catchy melodic death metal. We can't wait to share more info with you all in the coming months!" - Chronicle The new album was produced, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, The Haunted) at Antfarm Studios and will be released on March 27th 2020 on CD, vinyl and digital formats. Chilean heshers Critical Defiance are set to release their debut full-length, Misconception. Critical Defiance goes straight for the jugular with their relentless and intricate brand of old-school thrash metal. Though spawned in the depths of Chile's underground, Critical Defiance bear all the markings of a band that came straight from the 80s Bay Area scene. Following two demos and a limited-edition split with Santiago's Parkcrest, Critical Defiance signed with Unspeakable Axe Records for the release of Misconception. This eight-track album is an aggressive assault of violent riffs, shredding, yet melodic leads and shouted group vocals. Stream album track "What About You" at https://youtu.be/TxQ0WKquTPk Misconception will be out February 8 on Unspeakable Axe Records. facebook.com/criticaldefiance unspeakableaxerecords.com unspeakableaxerecords.bandcamp.com facebook.com/unspeakableaxerecords twitter.com/UARMetal After releasing a successful debut album 'Screaming from the Grave' last year, Icelandic old school death machine Narthraal unleashed a new single 'Baptized in Blood'. WATCH a video from a new track: https://youtu.be/OhPoag2dZqA The band comments:- "We are very happy with how well received our material has been, our EP's, Blood Citadel and Chainsaw Killing Spree, our LP Screaming from the grave and now our single. We have been trying our very best to keep the old school death metal alive and we are very happy to see so many others like ourselves out in the world. Of course we also try to go a little outside the traditional OSDM style, like with our single "Baptized in Blood", we went for a little death / doom motif. It's actually pretty funny, we were just brainstorming various ideas for a new song and then we decided to revisit some very old riffs we each made years ago that never really made sense on their own, but when put together they made complete sense! Then the song title suddenly came to our vocalist when he was in catholic mass, so he sat down and wrote down the lyrics describing a satanic cult performing ritualistic sacrifice. We didn't expect the song to come out so well, but we are very glad that it did! And now we're just brainstorming song after song for our next full length album! We think it's going to be in some ways similar and other ways very different from what we have done so far, and we're looking forward to sharing it with everyone!" Today, the band are premiering the official video for the title track, over on YouTube. Check it out, here: youtu.be/1OCmwMFKDlE The band commented on the video:- "The filming of the 'Hexenhammer' video was an exciting new experience for the band. Our second video dives into the story of Malleus Maleficarum, written by the discredited Catholic clergyman Heinrich Kramer, to legitimate his cruel deeds against woman in the 15th century. The title track stands for the album, it is melodic and heavy and reflects the sound of the band in a perfect way! We hope you will enjoy the video, which opens up a new authentic chapter for the band! We wanna thank the Witchcraft museum in Gränichen/Switzerland and its founder and director Miss Wicca Meier-Spring and her team for the support on this large project. Also we wanna thank the Operahouse of Zurich for the costumes and the props. Ancient recordings and editing by Michael Buzek - cheers to the whole team for making this amazing venture possible!" The album pays homage to the classic heavy metal style of the 80’s, and you can clearly hear the influence of bands like Accept or Ozzy Osbourne in Wrestling’s music. But Wrestling is not just a tribute band. On the contrary they are spicing up their soup with various different styles. You can find clues of punk at one end and even some pure pop melodies at the other. The album is quite diverse in style and it’s also been recorded in a traditional fashion that leaves lots of room for the musicians to create the atmosphere they are after. So Wrestling is definitely not math metal. Or well… perhaps short term math metal at most. The band released a new single from the upcoming album "Surreal Killer". Watch the music video here: https://youtu.be/K4Th1vrDibI Band comment: "Surreal Killer shows us Wrestling at its most vicious mood. This speed metal influenced tune tells us a story of a serial killer artist, whose simple mission is… well, to make art out of death." Hailing from Finland, RottenDawn is an experienced and aspiring group of old-school Finnish metal pioneers in a fresh, new package from such bands as Protected Illusion, Unholy, Sinisthra, and Impaled Nazarene. Founded by Joni Halmetoja (guitars) and Make Mäkinen (guitars), the earliest stages of RottenDawn began already back in the first quarter of this decade in the capital of Finland, Helsinki. But it wasn't until 2014 when things really started to progress towards the band's current musical style - simply, very heavy music - when Pasi Äijö (Unholy) joined the RottenDawn ranks for vocal and bass duties. Still, later on, the band found its footing when Mikael Arnkil (Impaled Nazarene) was asked to join as drummer during spring 2017, completing this heavy mixture of dark, harmonic doom and death metal - or, as described by the band, "Rotten Doom Metal." RottenDawn is currently working on their upcoming, as-yet-untitled debut album, which will be released through Saturnal Records in late 2018 / early 2019. Every member of the band has countless miles of heavy metal music - or history in music, in general - behind them, and that can be heard from RottenDawn's unique, grooving old-school death metal / doom mixture. Hear for yourself with the first official track, "Dusk Demons," which can be heard HERE at Saturnal's official YouTube channel. For more info, consult the links below.
