French brutal death metallers Livarkahil are proud to announce the beginning of the writing process of their third full length album, once again in the form of a concept-album.
“The concept and it’s shaping are extremely ambitious, and giving birth to it will be a long and difficult journey for the band. Even though we have a clear view of what the album should sound like, you guys will have to be patient, as we are hoping for a release on the Spring of 2014.” The new heavy thing is in town and it’s name is Livarkahil. Formed in 2007, this Parisian death metal combo never stopped growing. The Swedish Heavy Metal blood-brothers, Enforcer, recently signed a new worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records and will release their new album 'Death By Fire' on February 4th, 2013.
Enforcer are the leaders of the new generation of metal bands, cut from the roots of real metal, in spirit, in sound and in appearance. Bandleader, vocalist and guitar player Olof Wikstrand comments: "It feels great to finally have finished this long awaited third Enforcer record. Now with Nuclear Blast on board we're gonna make sure to spread it to every corner of this planet. You can expect nothing but the total, self-defining Enforcer record.“ Musically, “Death By Fire” refines the sound of the previous two records - more focused, with strong melodies, outstanding riffs and a voice as strong as steel. “The album title refers to the most horrific ways to die”, says Olof . “All lyrics on “Death By Fire” hold the same theme throughout the record: death - in all different shapes. ”.Once again, the album has less than 40 minutes of playing time – an Enforcer trademark: “We write all music for the vinyl format and a normal LP can never be longer than 19 minutes on each side without losing sound quality. None of my favourite records are longer than 39 minutes anyway. The record is made for listening to as an entirety and when it’s over the listener should be craving for more, not less. We don’t write any fillers.” Olof sums it up : “We decided to do the ultimate Enforcer record rather than trying to break new ground. Fans of dark and melancholic metal watch out, Finnish lords of darkness Hanging Garden reveal the first track of their upcoming album "At Every Door" entitled 'Ash and Dust'!

Hanging Garden are back with their 3rd studio album “At Every Door”, which is the band’s most ambitious work so far. Musically the album has much more variety than the previous two, combining influences from Cult of Luna all the way to Sigur Ros. When it comes to lyrical themes, Hanging Garden has always been about dystopic visions of the ouroborean fate that quite likely awaits man. Before, Matti Reinola was mostly responsible for the lyrics, but on this album they were mostly done by Toni. Toni: "Continuing the lyrical themes that have been prevalent on the first two albums came quite naturally for me. This album concentrates on different stories, protagonists and viewpoints of what might come after, should our future take a turn for the worse and end in cataclysmic consequences that spring from our actions." As the music, the lyrical atmosphere is likewise quite sombre, with a few glimpses of lighter tones. A great influence for myself came from a lengthy trip to the Far East, and visiting some sites that have once witnessed great destruction and human suffering. Thus, intertextuality is present here, but I’ll leave it for the listener to discover. "At Every Door" is set to be released on January 28th in Europe and February 5th in North America. www.hanging-garden.net |
