American modern metallers Malus Dextra sign with Wormholedeath

American metallers Malus Dextra have signed with Wormholedeath for their EP "III, Pt.1", due for release on November 25th, 2022.

This is what the band had to say:-

"We are extremely excited for the next growth chapter through the signing with WormholeDeath, we feel this was the right step for us currently and are looking forward to our future together. When it comes to the upcoming release its crazy to think about, being an underground band self-funded in everything we have done to date here we are making yet another album, Malus Dextra III is unlike any other album we have released thus far, we are dropping this as a multi-part release for the fans and to do what we do best, challenge the idea of norm. With part 1 we cut through the BS and give a raw delivery of how we feel, you could say this is almost a live album with the limited rehearsal, slide-in members, and no tied-down structure, all combined to make what we felt is the purest form of what we have to offer. Lyrically we dance around the board a little, but the essential theme is to question everyone and trust no one. There is so much divide in our country right now and even abroad, we try our best to break all the BS down to the individual and how we and countless others feel amidst all the global chaos and corruption. In short, Malus Dextra III is raw, it’s real, and it’s controlled chaos in its purest form."

Malus Dextra hails from St. Louis, MO. where guitarist Justin Ruesch (former D-Railed/Brutal Harmony) resides, formed in 2017 after recruiting vocalist Wayne Allison (former A Strand of Fate/Victims of Life) with the intent to bring the world music that was not limited to boundaries of genre and subgenres. Although the core of the band is metal the music speaks to the masses for fans ranging from Killswitch Engage to Slayer to I Prevail, the two entered Encapsulated Studios to record the debut “Self-Titled” album, released Oct 31, 2017, and was supported with mid-west and upper east coast touring in 2018.

The band's second full-length album titled “The Gate” was released Oct 31, 2020, supported by mid-west touring, followed by dual releases “Bangin Bionic Beats” a 6 song EP featuring tracks from both the “Self Titled” and “The Gate” remixed and reimagined by John McLucas from McLucas Studios (CA), and “A Somber Moment” a 6 song softer acoustic side from the artist recorded at Encapsulated Studios with producer/engineer Gabe Usery, both Eps released on Oct 31, 2021. Shortly before the recording of “A Somber Moment” the band welcomed two new members, Bassist Alex Smick (former Warheadd) and Guitarist Justin Keane (Blackdeth). 2022 Malus Dextra have once again stepped into Encapsulated Studios to record tracks for their 3rd full-length album titled “III” making this their 5th studio album released. The album is slated to be a multipart release with “Part 1” released in late 2022. “Tomorrow” the first single from the album released March 25th, 2022 on all streaming platforms.

Southern metallers Black Swamp Water release today their new single and video «Bitter Harvest», ahead of their second album «Distant Thunder», which will be out in August 24th through Mighty Music.

The video is now playing in our official media partners for this premiere:

Classic Rock Germany (DE, AU, CHE)
MyRock (DK) - premiere + airplay
New Noise Magazine (US)
Friedhof Magazine (ES)
Metal Roos (AU)
Ultraje Magazine (PT)
Kvlt Webzine (PL)

You can check it also in the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbU78UHqfew

Singer, Bjørn Bølling Nyholm, says:

"We chose «Bitter Harvest» as the first single for «Distant Thunder» because we believe it represents us as a band in the best possible way - it has a catchy and bluesy main riff, a strong southern vibe, and memorable hooks both melodically and lyrically - and the video shows both the energy that the song sparks in us as well as the main theme of it".

Black Swamp Water features Kim Langkjær Jensen, former drummer of death metal bands Dawn of Demise, Illdisposed and Koldborn. Other than Kim, the band consists of singer Bjørn Bølling Nyholm, bass player Jeppe Birch Friis, and the two guitarists Jan Geert and Martin Lykke Hansen.

Black Swamp Water is old school hard rock and heavy metal with obvious references to the bands like Black Sabbath, Ozzy and Corrosion Of Conformity with a howdy to the southern rock scene.

The Tue Madsen produced- & mixed debut album «Chapter One» from 2016 gave the band a reputation as a highly energetic live act with great reviews and airplays to follow on both MyRock and National Danish Radio.

Two years after the debut album Black Swamp Water is now ready to release their second album «Distant Thunder» to the world through Mighty Music on August 24th.

Line-up:

Vocals: Bjørn Bølling Nyholm
Guitars: Jan Geert & Martin Lykke Hansen
Bass: Jeppe Birch Friis
Drums: Kim Langkjær Jensen

Italy's The Secret stream single "The Sorrowful Void" via Revolver

Revolver Magazine is now streaming "The Sorrowful Void," the first song to be revealed from The Secret's scathing EP, Lux Tenebris, their first new material in six years, due out in August via Southern Lord.

The Secret ends the extensive period of decay since their 2012-released Agnus Dei LP, emerging with their first studio material in almost six years. Following three years without communication between members, the band regrouped under the same roof for the first time since 2015 to record Lux Tenebris, a three-song act in sonic exploration of the theme of the sepulchre.

The band offers with the new song's debut:-

"The Sorrowful Void' is a song that develops from the obsession for a riff and its repetition. It's the very first riff that has been written for this new EP and that single riff constitutes the majority of the song. This type of density and repetition makes the riff turn almost into a texture that my mind visualizes as a sort of vortex or a magmatic eruption. It's a riff that is meant to get lost into. The writing process for this song influenced the overall sound of the rest of the EP."

Expose The Secret's "The Sorrowful Void" at Revolver HERE.

Southern Lord will issue The Secret's Lux Tenebris as part of the label's special twentieth anniversary subscription series on August 31st with a small portion of the pressing to be available via label direct mail-order. The 12" vinyl pressing bears the three tracks on the A-side, with a silk-screened B-side; the EP will also be released on all digital platforms. Find pre-orders at the label webstore HERE, European store HERE, and Bandcamp HERE.

THE SECRET Tour Dates:

8/12/2018 Cudi Purci Festival - Budapest, HU w/ High On Fire, Pillorian
8/18/2018 Frantic Festival - Francavilla al Mare, IT w/ Sadistic Intent, Bolzer, Enslaved

All Hail The Yeti reveal new track 'Mr. Murder', feat. Brock Lindow of 36 Crazyfists‏

24/3/2016

Picture

Southern-fried hardcore metal hybrid All Hail The Yeti will release their full-length concept album, entitled Screams From A Black Wilderness, on April 8, 2016 via Minus Head Records. The album concept, based on classic campfire-circle style horror stories, presents a different story with each track. Screams From A Black Wilderness features a heavier, grimier and considerably more advanced version of the All Hail The Yeti fans have come to know since their inception.

Today, All Hail The Yeti is revealing a brand new track from Screams From A Black Wilderness, entitled Mr. Murder, which features guest vocals from Brock Lindow of 36 Crazyfists. Head over to GuitarWorld.com now to listen to the track and read an interview with vocalist Connor Garritty: http://www.guitarworld.com/artist-news-interviews/all-hail-yetis-connor-garritty-talks-new-album-screams-black-wilderness/28883

Vocalist Connor Garritty reveals that this track in particular steps outside the overall horror theme of the album. Mr. Murder was originally written as a surprise tribute to Garritty's best friend, penned before his untimely passing last year. The band decided to use the track on this record, immortalizing Connor's friend in music.

"Mr. Murder was written about my best friend Matt who passed away last year. He was one of the most influential people for me growing up and throughout my music career. The song was originally written in tribute to him and his unbelievable strength and passion for life. He left us unexpectedly before I could show him the song. It was supposed to be a surprise, almost a thank you to him for helping in more ways than he knew."

Garritty adds that having Brock Lindow on the track was fitting, as he and Matt were also friends, adding more emotional depth to the track.

"We knew early in the writing of the record that we wanted Brock Lindow on the album. Brock and Matt were friends as well so it seemed fitting that this would be the song he sang on. It was special for me to have Brock on the album and this song in particular because he is one of my best friends as well and such an influence to me as a vocalist. Mr. Murder has become an anthem to my best friend immortalizing him forever. It is very emotional for me when performing this. I go between sadness and great happiness by the end of the song."

Screams From A Black Wilderness is produced by Matt Hyde, known for his prior work with renowned groups such as Deftones, Slayer, and Soulfly. Pre-orders for Screams From A Black Wilderness are available now via Bandcamp, Amazon, or iTunes (with "Before The Flames" instant grat track).
