Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of international sleaze quintet Cobra Spell. Founded in 2019 by up-and-coming guitar phenomenon Sonia Anubis (ex-Crypta, ex-Burning Witches), Cobra Spell are slithering their way into the revival era of the 80’s heavy rock sound. Following their globally praised EP’s Love Venom (2020) and Anthems Of The Night (2022), this past October, Cobra Spell's current lineup released a new single “Flaming Heart”. The track features the chattiest of melodies, shredding guitars, hypnotic bass lines and synthesizers that will take you back to the golden era.

In addition to their successful EP releases, Cobra Spell have toured with established bands such as Ross The Boss, Enforcer and Evil Invaders, and are now armed and ready to take on all the stages worldwide, with a hunger to put on a show that will leave audiences around the globe speechless and wanting more!

Lead guitarist and band founder Sonia Anubis on the signing:

“This is a very big step for Cobra Spell. I have a HUGE amount of confidence in the potential of this amazing collaboration with the mighty Napalm Records. When it comes to record deals, I had really taken the time to look around for the very, very best I could get for the band since the dreams and goals of Cobra Spell are very big and we want to get sh*t done in the best way possible. We aim for 80s rock and roll world domination — and that is serious business. After having worked with Napalm Records in the past with my previous band Crypta, I am in no doubt that we will make this happen together. Be prepared for a whole new level of sleazy action from us. LET’S BRING THE 80s BACK!”

Stay tuned for more Cobra Spell news coming soon from Napalm Records!

Cobra Spell are:

International tech-death upstarts Solus Ex Inferis unveil debut album details and devastating new single

11/4/2021

L-R Dave Sevenstrings, Ollie Morgan, Sahil Makhija, Marco Pitruzzella, Mauricio Catalán.

Solus Ex Inferis is a trans-continental, technical death metal band founded by long-time musician and guitar player, Dave Sevenstrings alongside Marco Pitruzzella aka Lord Marco (Six Feet Under, Sleep Terror, ex-The Faceless), Sahil Makhija aka Demonstealer (Demonic Resurrection, Reptilian Death), Ollie Morgan (Necropathy) and Mauricio Catalán. The band first broke into the worldwide metal scene back in 2018 with their critically acclaimed 4-song EP, Demonic Supremacy. Three years on, Solus Ex Inferis has resurfaced with news of their debut full-length album, Daemones Ceramici; scheduled to be released on 9th July 2021. Alongside the announcement, the band has also unveiled a new single off of the upcoming LP titled, "Destroying Malevolence". The track is accompanied with a slick lyric video featuring, in great detail, the diabolic cover art drawn by Tata Kumislizer. Stream / listen [HERE].

Formed in 2017, Solus Ex Inferis came about as a means for the band’s original bassist and co-founding member, Matt Nemeth, to hone his audio engineering & production capabilities. Looking for a specific style of extreme metal drumming, Nemeth and Sevenstrings —  both die-hard fans of Pitruzzella’s work — decided to approach him to see if he’d be interested in joining the band. Once Pitruzzella agreed, the two decided to engage a full-time vocalist (Sahil Makhija) and a lead-guitar player (Ollie Morgan). This line-up, with members from US, Australia, Chile and India, went on to record the band’s debut EP, Demonic Supremacy. Soon after its release, Nemeth quit the band and was replaced by Mauricio Catalán. Catalán, besides being a bassist, also ran a full-fledged studio and it was here where the band’s upcoming full-length was entirely mixed & mastered.

Right from the band’s inception, it has been Dave Sevenstrings’ constant endeavour to write music that combined fast-paced, blast-beat style death metal with melodic lead elements and simultaneously was informed by the sounds of celebrated bands in the genre like Vital Remains, Hypocrisy, Deeds Of Flesh, Psycroptic etc. It started to evolve into its own thing once all the members started participating in the writing process and started to contribute some of their own musical influences from the different regions they came from. Hence, the music on Daemones Ceramici, while being devastatingly fast-paced and razor-sharp technical, “still retains the core of any good song, (and includes) solid riffs that you can headbang to” says Dave.

If you thought the last EP was any indication of how brutal or extreme Solus Ex Inferis could sound, the full-length quashes all of that point-blank and strives to push all known boundaries within the tech-death realm. Named after the malevolent spirits in Greek mythology, Solus Ex Inferis’ debut full-length plays around concepts of demonology and the occult; often re-contextualizing it for the terrible state of the world as we know it today. “The album reflects on human beings as the real demons, it reflects the hypocrisy and hatred fuelled by religion” adds Makhija, the band’s frontman and lyricist.

Enzo And The Glory Ensemble unleash new Video for "Try To Put In Pit The Fear" featuring Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land). Check it out below; new Album "In The Name Of The World Spirit" coming out this Friday March 27 via Rockshots Records.

Following up the previous albums ‘In the Name of the Father’ and ‘In The Name of The Son’, composer Enzo Donnarumma teamed up once again with Gary Wehrkamp (Shadow Gallery) for the production of the new record entitled ‘In The Name Of The World Spirit’.

Enzo and The Glory Ensemble’s stellar line-up includes Enzo Donnarumma, Marty Friedman, Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord), Gary Wehrkamp & Brian Ashland (Shadow Gallery), Nicholas Leptos (Warlord, Arrayan Path), Derek Corzine & Amulyn Braught Corzine (Whisper from Heaven) , David Brown (Metatrone), Alessandro Battini (Dark Horizon), Maria Londino and Francesco Romeggini (S91), Mr Jack, Claudia Coticelli and Clara People.

In addition to this out-of-this-world line-up, bass player Philip Bynoe (from Steve Vai’s backing band) joined the Glory Ensemble for the new album.

Lasting over one hour across 13 tracks, ‘In The Name Of The World Spirit’ will be definitely a must-have for all those who are into progressive metal with ethnic influences. This final chapter of the trilogy is a bridge between the western and the eastern cultures, besides a huge step towards a top-notch production. The balance between the instrumental parts and the vocals are now improved, while the ethnic arrangements are driven by the magnificent Weza Meza Choir ensemble from Congo. Once again, thanks to the massive choir section, ‘In The Name Of The World Spirit’ sets a new standard into the so-called “Gospel Metal” scene.

After one month of voting, nearly 6,000 votes cast and countless sharing across all social media platforms by us and nominees alike, the time has come to announce the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.

But before that happens, there will be a change to how the nominees are cast. For 10 months of the year we will be running a series of rounds from which the 10 finalists will be recognised for the annual event.

The system will work as thus: nominees elected in the month of January are voted for in February... February nominees voted in March, etc and finishes with nominees in October being voted for in November - the finalists will then be voted for across the month of December and into early January 2021; finishing 8th January 2021.

Now that's put out into the open, we can finally reveal the winners of the GMA Awards 2019.

On 5 May, the biggest underground metal event with over 400 bands took place in 43 countries and 64 cities. It was a huge success with overwhelming impressions from metal communities all over the world. After this passionate display of love for the music and the community, there must be a second round of Metal United World Wide in 2019. Coordinating with so many countries (and possibly even more than in 2018), it is not easy to find consensus but 15 June 2019 has now been chosen for MUWWs second edition.

For those who would like to catch up on the shows they missed, we have compiled a youtube playlist with recorded live streams or videos from a range of countries. On our Facebook page, we shared a large number of videos, photos and reviews. Finally, the lists of shows, participating bands and partners can be found on our website www.metal-united-world-wide.com

The Metal United World Wide team will start with preparations for the next round soon. If you want to be part as a organiser, media partner or supporter - let us know. Don't forget, it's a community project and everybody can participate and contribute.

So on 15 June 2019, the worldwide motto of the metal community will be again:
United We Stand, Divided We Fall! \m/

Metal United World Wide is an initiative to overcome the distances between the widespread individual communities. The event consists of shows around the world on the same date under the united banner. For media contacts, email events@metal-roos.com.au or michael@black-roos.com

Roman Catholic Black Metallers Reverorum Ib Malacht set release date for new Annapurna album; reveals first track

7/4/2018

Picture

On May 11th internationally (June 15th in the United States), AnnapurnA shall release Reverorum ib Malacht's highly anticipated fourth album, Im Ra Distare Summum Soveris Seris Vas innoble. The album will be released on CD, vinyl, and digital, with the vinyl to be available in two editions: black vinyl, or coloured vinyl with download card.

As sole practitioners of Roman Catholic Black Metal, Reverorum ib Malacht are truly in a league of their own. Their three albums to date - 2011's Urkaos, the three iterations of 2014's De Mysteriis Dom Christi, and last year's Ter Agios Numini - are unparalleled in their intensity of vision and sound. But with Im Ra Distare Summum Soveris Seris Vas innoble, whatever conceptions of "vastness" and "density" the band deeply explored prior have been hereby dwarfed.

Like any of the band's albums, Reverorum ib Malacht's Im Ra Distare Summum Soveris Seris Vas innoble is not an easy album to navigate, nor was that ever an option to begin with. For music - truly MUSIC, whether it be classed as "black metal" or "ambient" or otherwise - this personal and idiosyncratic was meant for exploration of truths far beyond the surface level, both above and below, encompassing the totality of eternity and its incomprehension. Layers are built upon layers upon layers, each one denser and yet more Spartan than the next, weaving a maze that becomes a riddle that circles back to a maze again, like the very Ouroboros forever swallowing its tail. It very much "sounds like" black metal (or ambient-intensive black metal, that is) but rather aims for what IS...existing, spreading further, forever outwards...living, dying, being.

Despite their diversity, the four singers Amanda Somerville, Clémentine Delauney, Marina La Torraca and Anna Brunner blend together personally as superbly as they do vocally with their very diverse vocal tones and techniques that go from opera style to raspy rock! This constellation created extraordinary and powerful ideas and finally became their unique plan to raise Exit Eden’s very own edge: to show the world that almost every classic song  can be transformed into a solid metal-rock song.

Exit Eden’s debut "Rhapsodies in Black”, which will be released on August 4 via Napalm Records (worldwide, with Germany/Switzerland/Austria via Starwatch), is home to a colourful mix of international super hits from Rihanna to Madonna, from Depeche Mode to Adele, and many more. Still and all, it’s miles away from being just a cover album.

“Why a cover of "Unfaithful?” The band explains:

“Rihanna is one of the major artists in pop music these days, always on the edge of being too much, too provocative, too vulgar, yet with a hint of grace of her own. We like that, but felt that it could use a sharper edge and a darker, no-apologies vibe. The accelerated tempo gives it a new energy and spins us into oblivion with the march of banners held high!”

This came out of nowhere. Members of Aborted, System Divide and Abigail Williams get together to release a mind-blowing output. This includes guest contributions from Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry),  Ryan Knight (The Black Dahlia Murder, Arsis), as well as Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore).

Members of Aborted, Abigail Williams and System Divide unite to create a sensational form of extreme metal that defies categorization. With two vocalists, scintillating atmosphere and cutting-edge musicianship, Oracles redefine contemporary metal as we know it. The soothing and dramatic vocals of Sanna go hand in hand with the undulating music and complexity of 'Miserycorde' as Sven of Aborted does what he is best known for. Together they create a jaw-dropping vocal contrast of epic proportions, while the music seethes with unmitigated fury, employing a plethora of influences and merging it all impeccably. With guest contributions from members of Black Dahlia Murder, Scar Symmetry, Nevermore and Arch Enemy, it's one of the most significant releases to come out this year. Deadlight Entertainment from France has delivered something special once again.
